Choices are not right. My answer is it is FACT. GOP are doing this to women for a long time, we all know that. GOP is loosing women voters and there will be no women voters in republican party to vote for them in 2012. GOP should learn to respect Women, Seniors, Middleclass, Poor , people.
President Obama has won the heart of all Americans.
Don't forget Gays, Latinos and Blacks. You are only valued in the GOP if you are white, rich and male.
From the way it looks, they aren't getting any of the above.Eventually..they will become prehistoric.
These are simple instructions for all GOP politicians.
1- Open mouth
2- Insert foot
Does anybody know if any of these Republican fools are actually Americans? They sure don't act like they are.
unitewomen.org - Join Americans all across the United States on April 28th, 2012, as we come together as one to tell members of Congress in Washington DC and legislators in all 50 states, "Enough is enough!"
BIGAL LAS VEGAS - You forgot #3 which is START CHEWING.
They are against any human group, but what fits in with their version of the "Nuclear family".
It seems to me that there is a War waged against ALL Groups who helped Elect America's 1st Black President. What I find interesting are the 3% who answered in the negative about the GOP's War on Women. Like the 3 Monkeys... Deft, Dumb, and Blind.
@David H-2813449, RE:
You forgot the Christian part of the equation. Back in the Reagan days, just being a WASP would have been sufficient. Now you have to be a rich WASP - however un-Christ-like it may be.
Fact = Not Only Is It War On Women = Butt; It IS War On Our President And War On America And War On The American Government !!!!! Homeland Terrorism = Plain And Simple !!!!!
the thing ed didnt show in his chart is that neither men NOR women will be able to afford insurance. thats not proof of a republican war on women. neither are polls. the fact is that less people are insured now then before obamacare. and ed dont report that. he reports 2 million people GOT healthcare but he dont report the truth that 4 million working people who had their own plans BEFORE obamacare LOST it because its no longer AFFORSABLE. the rate of insured americans has DECLINED EVERY SINCE 2008! NO RISE in the number of insured americans even AFTER you add those 2 million! theres still a LOSS in the number of people who had insurance! how can you democrats support this? this is being reported buy everyone. the cdc the census bureau, BOTH report the STEADY DECLINE! tell you what people, 2 million people paying MORE is PROFIT for the industry. prexisting conditions plans that cost four times MORE then everyone else is profit for the industry! millions less middle class americans insured with all thier health problems, while gaining two million young heaty people is PROFIT for the industry. those 4 million or so that LOST healthcare thru work that get pushed onto the goverments roles paying those huge increases is PROFIT for the industry.
when the industry keeps profiting with RECORD profits but we are insuring LESS people you have a gap between the rich and the poor that will CONTINUE to widen.
and guess where those record profits are going?
thats right, obamas campaign coffers.
millions less people covered then before obamacare, record profits for the healthcare industry and those extra profits going to a candidate is NOT progress.
do we really want 4 more years of less people getting insured but the 1% getting richer?
if you question anything i say i suggest you go look at the truth before you defend this law any further. ven if you buy recovery summer 2014 crystal ball predictions thats at least 2 more years of pain for the middle class and pleasure for the rich.
obamacare is the biggest theft from the middle class to the rich in 100 years.

Fewer Americans Have Employer-Based Health Insurance
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Fewer Americans got their health insurance from an employer in 2011 (44.6%) than in 2010 (45.8%), continuing the downward trend Gallup and Healthways have documented since 2008. As employer-based health insurance has declined, the percentage of Americans who are uninsured has increased, rising to 17.1% this year, the highest seen since 2008.
Two factors appear to be driving up the percentage of uninsured Americans. First, more Americans were unemployed or underemployed in 2011 than in 2008. Second, fewer employees had health insurance from their employer, which may be because employers no longer offered it or the cost was too high for employees to afford.
WHY DONT ED REPORT ON THE MILLIONS WHO HAVE LOST HEALTHCARE SINCE OBAMACARE PASSED? why does he only report on the SMALLER GAIN? why6 doesnt he report on how the industry is making RECORD PROFITS INSURING LESS people, or all those ?MILLIONS goi
ng to obamas campaign?
feel free to refute the governments own data if you can, if im wrong show me how but obamas getting 500 million dollars from what his campaign says was 1.3 million donations. from 311 million possible americans. and 49% of his donations were small. 10-25 dollars.
so where is the rest of that 500 million coming from?
obamas purchasers. there was a reason obama lied about those closed door negotiations with the industry. remember when republicans BEGGED him to start over with a clean slate? i sure do. remember when they asked him for aboveboard televused negotiations? i sure do. you people says republicans have no plans then you say romeny invented obamas.
and dont forget obama was sachs funded before citizens united,.
and if you people think im right wing because of this you got another think coming, i stand for anything that will lower costs and covers all americans, be it medicare for all, public option, single payer, torte reform, the repeal of the antitrust exemption , torte reform, I DONT CARE AS LONG AS THE 99% benefit MORE then the 1%!
im done :) if you can argue the truth of whats happening now, go for it.
one more thing, if mr.ed cant refute the numbers provided, then he is SUPPORTING the 1% OVER the 99% because hes supporting something that makes things WORSE in front of MILLIONS with SLANTED REPORTING. i hope you are being paid well to defend a law that you see is hurtful more then helpful.
remember the good ole days, the status quo, when more americans could afford to pay for insurance?
go on, keep ignoring the truth because it allows you to bash republicans. this blood is on your hands ed for reporting the things that got better but not the more important things that got worse. you sir, are a hypocrite or paid. and so are those that ignore the truth.
david,
your post 1.1-
Latino's and Blacks are valued, IF THEY KNOW THEIR PLACE.
Tony = You Should Seriously Look Into Changing Your Last Name !!!!!!! Babble-Babble-Babble !!!!!!!
Tony,
As usual the President tried to find some middle ground with the republicans hoping to pass a meaningful healthcare reform. Since republicans supported this idea not so many years ago. He probably thought this would find good support now. The right is so anti Obama they changed their position entirely - moving even more to the right.
A more socialized medicine type of an approach has a snowball's chance.
@fore hey look out
Yeah... but then the Repugs have rejected ALL OF THEIR OWN IDEAS as soon as Obama adopts them, including "cap and trade", "The Dream Act", the health care mandate, etc. It's as if as soon as President Obama agrees with it, it becomes tainted... even thought it was their own idea.
I sometimes wonder if President Obama decided to give huge tax cuts to billionaires and subsidies to oil companies, if the Repugs would suddenly back off those.
Scully
I wonder too. Why don't we try it and see what happens???? OH subsidies to old wrecks like me also.
When someone is dictating my choices to me, I'd say it's war.
KATHLEEN - I'll let you have your rights,i'll just take your lefts.
Kathy, (Same name as my wife's) you are right. My wife is also rebalian. She would do exactly opposite to what some one ORDERS her to do. If anybody try to make her do, better watch out! Limbo, Hateful Hannity , and rest of republicans think they own women as they did in old days. They seem to forget that times have changed, in 2012!Romney also as a morman is controling women.
Yes, I see this as a symptom of the larger issue--control. The Republicans are screaming about how the government is eroding our rights and all they've tried to do is enact legislation that is controlling---the war on women, the war on immigrants, the voter suppression laws. It's all about them trying to control us!
But to listen to them, that's not what they say they do---but their actions sure say different.
@Kathleen
The thing is... everything that the Repugs accuse Democrats of doing is in reality... what they are doing. They wage war on women, they blame it on Dems. They pass laws to control women, they blame Dems of growing government. They cut taxes for rich and give them loopholes to get out of paying their fair share at the expense of the cut programs for the middleclass and poor, then they blame the Dems for class warfare.
They spend and increase the deficit by Trillions of $, they blame the Dems of tax and spend... even though President Obama has only lowered taxes again and again and all of his bills have been paid for, instead of unpaid for and off the books like GW Moron's. Over and over... whatever they are accusing the Dems of is actually what they are doing.
UniteWomen.org’s Response to Reince Preibus:
Mr. Preibus,
The Republicans are claiming that the War on Women is fabricated by President Obama and the Democrats as a political tactic to gain women voters. You state that this War is as fictitious as a war on Caterpillars.
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced the U.S. House of Representatives to put forth over 400 bills since January, 2010 attacking our reproductive rights?
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced all of the GOP Presidential candidates to sign the Personhood Pledge and vowing to eliminate Planned Parenthood?
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced Rush Limbaugh to call women who use birth control sluts?
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced the Republicans in the Senate to vote against the Violence Against Women Act for the first time since it’s enactment in 1994?
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced Republicans to filibuster the Paycheck Fairness Act?
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced Republican run States to introduce legislation to force women to have a trans-vaginal probe against their will and pay for it?
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced Republican run States to cut their budgets in not only health, but also K-12 and higher education that will disproportionately impact women?
Are you claiming that President Obama and the Democrats forced Paul Ryan to cut Social Security and turn Medicare into a voucher system that would disproportionately impact women?
We Caterpillars had no idea President Obama and the Democrats had such power and control over Republicans!
All Caterpillars unite on April 28th across the country to fight this war on women’s rights!

very true the war on women is driven by a hard-core of christian fascist fundamentalists and they've been working for decades to reverse all effects of the 1960s. this war on women at this point now has a whole lot of momentum and backing from powerful forces in government, the military, etc and I am so glad that at long last there is a movement to defend women's lives mobilizing broadly to take the streets; all out for April 28!
i gotta pose the question, since it has been decades in the making, WHY has there NOT been any serious mobilized opposition to the truly monstrous attacks by these women-hating fanatics? not even in the past year with the more that 400 pieces of legislation attacking women? where have the Democrats been, obama, the huge mainstream 'pro-choice' and feminist movements? Doctors have been assassinated! providers consistently terrorized, women at the clinics...on and on! and they've had a clear field by and large. Why no mobilization.
I tell you, it really is a joy to see the enthusiasm for taking to the streets, almost hear and feel the collective sigh of relief of thousands of women, and their allies. I just want to contribute this question in order emphasize the need for continued independent political action and a through break from the orientation of seeking common ground with fascists. all out for April 28! respect.
a clip, i think the sharpest resource anywhere on this
my friends, i'm new to the on-line communities; here's link to the clip--watch the whole film in parts. its the best:
Abortion Morality and the Liberation of Women
Welcome Mauricio
You could also add that it wasn't Obama or Democrats that compared us to cows and pigs on a farm... That would be Representative Terry England. It wasn't Obama or Democrats who tried to force us to have unnecessary invasive medical procedures because we made a certain choice to punish us. You could go on and on!
I keep hearing the comment, "Lets take back the good ole days".... Were the good ole days when women were in their place staying at home?
I really believe they keep making stupid comments and controlling bills, because they don't see us much better than a cow. If you see woman on the same level as a pig... Well you make piggish comments and you don't see anything wrong with them...
also welcome maurico
as a newbie here you can't as yet post links you can however post a cut and paste link. Just leave of the HTTP// at the beginning of you link start it with www. you should also instruct your reader that they must cut and paste. after a month or two you can request the monitors here to allow the privilege of posting links . you will also be able to seed interesting articles on your page for others to comment on. Glad you are here we need some new blood from time to time.
You're kidding, right? I dont know if the GOP's distain for women could be any more blatent! There is nothing covert about their plethora of attacks on women's rights and reproductive choices...it is an all out war no matter how the right-wing media tries to spin it.
Well the GOP is in denial and saying it is made up by Liberal. Sigh
Pure FACT!!!!!!! And the women of America will not stand for it .
catepillars and butterflys unite to fight this injustice by the GOP. lol
Seriously Jay??
Sounds like Jay was being facetious ;)
It is most definitely FACT, and WOMEN will make sure the GOP PAY FOR IT IN NOVEMBER!!
I saw on another site one woman said...'be careful boys, catepillars grow up to be beautiful bitchy butterflies!'
DSCULLY, In reference to the Caterpillars i just thought of Mohamed Ali.'FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY, STING LIKE A BEE!"They will feel our sting in November! There's No back pedaling from them. They started it and We will finish it!
It's all part of the GOP's radical agenda, and it's very real.
It's nothing more than an attempt to revert back to their good ol' days when women stayed at home, minorities had little rights, and the white evangelical man controlled the destinies of everybody else.
Trying to make birth control difficult to obtain, resorting to humiliating tactics to discourage rights recognized by the Supreme Court, bulling those who dare demand their rights, opposing equal pay for women... and it's not an all out assault on them? And remember, all these new anti-women proposals came from republican controlled states and at about the same time... again, not a coordinated assault on women? It couldn't be more clear if you asked me.
The GOP wants to go back to simply imposing their will on everybody but rich, white, evangelical men. Shameful!
yessssssssss!! 100% GOP war on women is fact!!!
You need only look to the anti-abortion bill passed in Mississippi today designed to outlaw a woman's health choice.
Absolute Fact! 1100 Anti women bills do not lie!
Maybe not so much on the federal level, but they damn sure are on the state level. So much for espousing a smaller, less intrusive government.
Priebus stuttered around like a half-wit on CNN'S Carol Costello this morning blaming the Democrats for making this up. What hole has he been hiding in for the last few months. He wouldn't even answer the question just took off on some Caterpillar thing and avoided the question completely.
A lying republican trying to deceive the people.... ain't that what they do best?
Open Range, Good evening. I would like this Idiot to walk Into a office and have Trans vaginal Ultra Sound forced on him! I guarantee he would change his tune ! Oh! He has different equipment ! LOL
Hello Pam.
Remember the GOP's golden rule.. The law only applies to others.
They simply don't care about anybody, they're on an agenda to revert back to the dark ages, and their policy reflects just that.
Open You are so right. They want anything that takes money from there coffers gone. The list is so long. They want poor houses, child labor, women dying in child birth. They want the days when the rich got the best and the peasants are on there own.
Fact, fact, fact. I thought our country was trying to move forward? Why are the Republicans trying to repeat history and refrain women from their rights as Americans? Do they really think women are going to accept that?
Fact, along with a war on unions, minorities, working poor and middle class, education, industry, science and technological advancement, reason, and the United States as a whole.
VIEWER - They just want this country to go backwards in everything.Just shows you how STUPID they are.
I forgot the environment, civil rights, civil services, freedom of speech, freedom of religion or from religion if one so desires. [and the list goes on]
Ted: I have to go back to the conspiracy of the global wealthy elite, wanting to take complete control. I got a few giggles form others as paranoid, and on the fringe, but I seriously think there is some type of Bilderberg group out there bent on world dominance. Dave M. Johnson you have yet to prove me wrong.
The Chamber of Commerce is controlled not only by big US corporations, but big foreign corporations and governments as well. I know I gone through this time and time again, and have no answers how to stop them. Sometimes I feel like Dr. Miles Bennell in Invasion of the Body Snatchers, frantically screaming to passing motorists, "They're here already! You're next! You're next!"
Communist, Fascist, Corporate Oligarchy/Plutocracy, only differences are in their similarities.
That would be FACT! They have been relentless from state to state. Some have backed down because women told them where they can shove there bill ! How many times have they worked on abortion bills in Washington and not on jobs bill. Last count was 7. They have made there attack on us as much of priority as they have to make President Obama a one term President. Romney has made campaign promise to close Planned Parent Hood ! I call it Republican Mob Mentality !
How Republicans Attack Women’s
Economic Security With Ryan Budget In One Chart
...Despite claims that the budget
“empower[s] individuals with greater control over their futures,”
the Republican budget written by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) does the
opposite. As CAP’s Katie Wright explains, “By choking off
opportunity for women and children of all ages, the budget leaves
poor women to fend for themselves and puts the American Dream further
out of reach.”
Here’s a chart that outlines how the
GOP’s war on women’s economic security hits women at every stage
of life:

House Republicans Open New Front in the
War on Women
House Republicans Target Poor Women and
Their Families at Every Point in Their Lives
...The House-passed Republican budget
targets poor women and their families at every juncture of their life
cycle, from crib to rocking chair. It guts programs that help
low-income children get the nutrition and educational opportunities
they need to develop and thrive. It makes devastating cuts to the
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly food stamps), or
SNAP, which primarily helps women, children, the disabled, and the
elderly put food on the table, while also boosting our economy. The
House budget’s cuts to Medicaid would deal a tough blow to
low-income and middle-class women and families supporting elderly
loved ones in nursing homes and those who rely on Medicaid for often
life-saving preventive health services.

They claim to want to stop the killing of innocent babies, but then they turn around and pass other laws that make it more difficult to get birth control - the best way, hands down, to prevent pregnancies that end in abortion. They've shown, clearly, that it's not about any so-called "right-to-life", it's about who is in control of women's uteruses - and they've made it plain that they don't think any woman, anywhere, has the ability or good sense to make those decisions for herself. Yes, it's a war against women, and there's no way to hide it anymore or claim differently.
They are trying to replenish the troops we lost in both IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN for the next war we get involved in ( if at all).
They are so pro life they forget life after the baby is born. What a cynical position, but I've come to expect that from the GOP liars in government.
How many times has the GOP created new insults to brand new borns? From anchor babies to welfare children, they love babies so much they can't wait to degrade them with their profanity.
Fact. They can try to spin their way out of it but its too late. I hope everyone remembers in November.
Republicans keep saying women only really care about jobs and the economy while sidestepping the question concerning the legislative attacts on women.
...but the caterpillars are awake, now, and WE ARE WATCHING YOU! : D
