The father of the man who and killed Trayvon Martin says Martin threated to kill his son.
In an interview with the Fox affiliate in Orlando, Robert Zimmerman, the father of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot the unarmed black teenager, says Martin confronted his son.
"Trayvon Martin got on top of him and started beating him in his face, in his nose, hitting his head on the concrete," said Robert Zimmerman, 64.
"Trayvon Martin said something to the effect of 'you’re going to die now' or 'you're gonna die tonight' -- something to that effect," Robert Zimmerman continued. "He continued to beat George, and at some point George pulled his pistol and did what he did."
George Zimmerman, however, appeared uninjured in a police surveillance video taken in the Sanford police station after Martin was shot dead. Robert Zimmerman says he has not seen the video, but admits his son was "not given any medical attention."
Robert Zimmerman, a former magistrate judge and Vietnam War veteran, also said he "never foresaw so much hate coming from the president, the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP."
"Every organization imaginable is trying to get notoriety or profit from this in, in some way," said the elder Zimmerman, apparently feeding the right-wing talking points of how this is being politicized by the left.

The only injury I see is towards the top of the back of his head and not where you would expect to find it if your head was being banged over and over again on a sidewalk. This looks more like a self inflicted would caused from the butt of his gun .
Where is the discoloration (black and blue) if his head was slammed against the pavement several times? They show a couple of bruises on the back of his head but that's just it no black and blue bruises on this man. The lawyer said the video is grainy but you can clearly see there is no discoloration on this man. Where is the swelling? It also appears there is no swelling. I guess he is a person that does not swell.
I also think he hit himself in the head with the gun butt where the wound on the top of his head is constant `with a self inflicted wound .
My first thought was if he broke his nose, where's the swelling and bruising?
Looks to me like he has a bandage on the back of his head and one of the officers is checking it out. I read a report that stated he received treatment at the scene. Let's not make this worse than it is for the sake of drama.
No blood on his clothes, his coat is clean your would seen grass stains no stains, T-shirt no blood he shirt was gray, He head no bandage at all on his shave head. This is nothing more then a hate crime and he father has protect him to long. The two are nothing more haters like father like son.

Actually, there is another video out shot from another angle and in this one they do a closeup of Zimmerman's head. There is no bandage and the abrasion is in a spot that it would not be in if his head were banged on the sidewalk. It's too high up on his head. I guess they did an enhancement of his head in this one.
And the effects of no police photographs of the injury, no police collection of the supposed bloody shirt and no police investigation continue.
Yes, that is most unfortunate to say the least. It does appear that the back of his jacket is wet as they indicated and when an officer touches the back of his jacket, you can see him wiping his hand off on his pants. When all is said and done, I think we will probably learn that the truth lies somewhere in between. In the meantime, media, politicians, etc. are milking this for all its worth to serve their own agenda - and that's reprehensible and dangerous.

Zimmerman made neighborhood watch into neighborhood stalking. At the least, Trayvon being stalked by Zimmerman gives Trayvon ‘Stand Your Ground’ rights. We spent years teaching kids, ’Stranger – Danger’, and in this case, it was exactly right.
Now, hopefully, this case will be brought before a court of law not buried in the back rooms of the police station.
Thank God for the media otherwise there would be no justice in Florida.
I agree that the media exposure to this case is what will help bring justice - what I had said earlier is "It was a tragic happening and unfortunately, not all that uncommon. Certainly there should be an arduous investigation and media coverage will no doubt make that happen. But what I hear is media fanning the flames for what appears to be their own gain." I believe that there are members of the media and politicians (the President definitely excluded from that group) who are using this case to promote their own agenda and ultimately disrespecting this victim and his family. I lived through the race riots in Chicago and know what can happen with the media fueling the anger as they are doing. They really need to rein in the drama and let the FBI do its job before there are more deaths.
If the media wasn't on this everyday you might end up with a problem. As long as new facts are coming out each day and the investigation is moving along, people will stay calm for the most part. If you stop reporting on this is where the trouble would come in. As long as you are shining a light on this and keeping the public up to date, there should be no problem.
I agree the reporting is important, it's the drama I am concerned with. And now attacking the father for doing what just about any parent would do - defend their child. Not having any empathy or consideration for what he is going through. Ed needs to cut the man some slack, for crying out loud - have some understanding for a parent that is really suffering rather than pouncing on his words like a hungry cat.
Drama? The drama is caused by Zimmerman, his family and the police. From day one Zimmermans father thought to throw everyone off the racial aspects of the case by making the statement Zimmerman is half white half Hispanic. Hoping to cover Zimmermans profiling and racial statements displayed in the 911 tapes, "I think,yes he's black", a fact he knew before calling 911 when he called in a suspicious suspect report, then when losing sight of Martin, "they always get away", to the pursuing "F**king Coons" frustration statement. That his "friend" then tried to defuse those statements with his stupid attempt at saying Zimmerman said goons, a term of endearment, Really gee I wonder how many guys call their girl friends and wives F**king goons without getting their face slapped. Yeah there is drama but its not media at fault its the Zimmerman camp at fault who are treating the rest of us as stupid people who will believe anything.
Why didn't George Zimmerman just identify himself when the young man asked "why are you following me"? George Zimmerman felt he did not have answer that question so he answered with another question. I would have felt threatened by George Zimmerman who had a gun and when you fear for your life you are going to do whatever to get away. I would have done the same thing Trayvon Martin did only he did not get away. I would have threatened, fought, did everything I knew to save my life because I did not know who this man was that was following me. So did Trayvon Martin threatened George Zimmerman, maybe, but I always remember there are evil forces in this world and George Zimmerman is an evil force.

Even if Zimmerman identified himself, would you have believed him? No uniform, no badge...Anyone can lie about who they are. Hell, there was a guy a few years back that was raping women. He had a policeman's uniform, went to the victims' homes, said he was a cop, etc. and the next thing the victim knows is he is inside and she is being raped.

When I first started working after high school, I was driving home late at night all by myself. A car whooped a siren. I stopped even though I was clueless . I was a little far from the police station. My gut said go to the police station. He kept following me and whooping his siren, but I did not stop. I kept thinking I was not obeying the police. OH WELL! and kept on going. When he saw me pull into the station, he took off like a scalded cat. After making a report, a police car on patrol followed me home. They were concerned that he might follow me once I left the police station. THNGS ARE NOT ALWAYS WHAT THE SEEM.

My brother was jumped a few years ago by a bunch of teens who wanted his bicycle and his friend's. They rode off toward a supermarket...and rode behind it. They didn't ask anyone for help, they didn't run in the supermarket, etc. They panicked and this is what they did.
I have a problem with anyone being able to follow someone in a car, chase them on foot, wrestle them, kill them and then lie about it AND get out of jail free with your gun in your pocket!

Fortunately, the Zimmerman theatrics and script kicked in far too late! There are too many photos, videos, and witnesses that their act cannot talk down with lies and fairy tales from Monday morning quarterbacking. The Zimmerman family is obviously trying to make a case for George's defense, but they are making things WORSE because none of the various versions match up! I am shocked that this former judge actually believes that his hearsay will gain them any favor. It simply makes him look more desperate, crooked, and dishonorable! VERY low class!
What any family member has to say is not relevant in any way whatsoever. The only testimony that will matter is people who saw or heard what happened that night or interacted with him directly. Just because different members tell different stories does not make him guilty or innocent.

I have a problem with the video released by the Sanford Police Dept. In almost every surveillance video I've ever seen from any police department whether it be indoors or a dash camera, there is ALWAYS a date and time stamp reference on the screen. I don't see that in this video, so, it makes me wonder when was this video taken? When was Zimmerman actually brought to the police station? This could be totally staged by the Sanford Police Dept. to CYA. This video could have been taken 2 days before it was released. I see no signs of the injuries Zimmerman purportedly suffered during the altercation and subsequent shooting. No evidence of a broken nose and no evidence that his head was continually slammed against the sidewalk. It looks like Mr. Zimmerman, if this video is from the night in question, was allowed to go home, clean up, change clothes (note his are not in disarray as they would be after a scuffle in which he was supposedly on the ground). Just a lot of things not right with this entire case.

the reason there is no evidence of injury, or scuffled clothes, is because georgy is lying.
if this were not the video of george in the police station 40 minutes after he shot Trayvon, i think we would hear that from family members. i doubt if george would come out of hiding to make a video, he is in deep enough already, and i really doubt if the police officers would produce a fake video, after all the attention this murder has gotten.
since they are saying that the phone calls between trayvon and his girlfriend are "fake", stay tuned. they might say the same thing about the police video, and other things related to that night.

The operator made the mistake of warning Zimmerman as he would have done with any adult, so maybe like you Zimmerman didn't know adult speak. I mean really when the operator said we don't need you to do that Zimmerman must have heard him because he responded with OK, then did it anyhow, like a 5 year old would have.

These 7 words should be the fore front of any conversation about the Trayvon Martin case. Had George Zimmerman listened... these very words would have been considered his 'Lucky Seven".
My point is; How do obtain a Degree in Criminal Justice, take exams, write theses to demonstrate your capacity of the subject matter... but you fail to obey/take action to heed a simple order such as "We don't need you to do that"?????
