Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum talks about his desire to go head-to-head with Mitt Romney (March 11, 2012).
The latest polls show tomorrow's GOP primaries in Alabama and Mississippi are so close that either Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich could win one or both.
According to a new poll from Public Policy Polling (taken March 10-11, 2012), the GOP trio are only two points apart in Alabama and six points apart in Mississippi. Given the margin of error, these are essentially two three-way ties (with Ron Paul a distant fourth).
Alabama
Romney: 31%
Gingrich: 30
Santorum: 29
Paul: 8
Mississippi
Gingrich: 33%
Romney: 31
Santorum: 27
Paul: 7
But while Gingrich is showing strength ahead of these Southern primaries, he's still running a distant third nationally behind Romney and Santorum. And he's only won primaries in South Carolina and his home state of Georgia.
Santorum, a social conservative, urged Gingrich yesterday to step aside so he could go head-to-head against Romney, not so much a social conservative.
While Gingrich vows to go all the way to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, PPP asked hypothetically that if he was out of the race, who would benefit most?
While it is silly to say, as Santorum hints, that all the Gingrich votes would go to Santorum, radical Rick would clearly benefit the most, gaining 14 points and moving ahead of Romney by a slim margin in both Alabama and Mississippi:
Alabama
Santorum: 43 (+14)
Romney: 31 (+9)
Paul: 8 (+4)
Mississippi
Santorum: 41 (+14)
Romney: 38 (+7)
Paul: 11 (+4)
Santorum still has a shot at winning both primaries tomorrow, but it certainly would be easier for him without Gingrich hanging around.

Are Newts arms getting tired! I didn't know that Santorum was into contact mutual masturbation!
Ego, ego, ego, ego, and the leroy keeps beating his dead horse but hey who cares. Keep them busy newt, hang in there and keep helping all you reps making fools of yourselves......Not much fun to watch anymore.....but you are doing the LEFT a really big favor.
Was his right hand was getting tired..Talk about a favor! I certainly don't want to watch!!!
Give me a couple of straight lines.....
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha aaaa = What = Is He Gonna Use His Right-Hand OR His LEFT-Hand ??????? OMG !!!!!!!!! xxx ooo = Ha Haa = We Think Alike BRAH !!! = I Posted This - Before I Read Your Posts === Ha Haaaa !!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!
Sad but true! LOL! Was that a straight line TMom? I think she may have gotten disgusted and left.....I just couldn't resist!!!!
I guess Rick is had enough of being behind Romney! Mitt likes it just the way it is the perv! Newts beating his dead horse! Maybe he could get some Viagra from RUSH!
None of the will have enough delegates by November an will continue until 2016!
Talk about chronic presidential candidates Mitt & Paul have been on the road so much they are making a bunch of money as a tax write-off for miles traveled!
Is it a waste of taxpayer money to build a oil refinery using taxpayer money as has been suggested to ease the spikes of gas prices we have every spring because the oil refineries go though maintenance!
No comment.....You will make a mountain out of a mole hill.
No really what if I said it would get gas prices under control and provide jobs for our troops coming home and lower the threat of war? And maybe just to keep us from bowing to the Oil Sheiks of the middle East!
We're sitting on 2% of the world's oil reserves, but we use 20%. We used to have lots of refineries and provided our own gas. Then they got the bright idea of OPEC so we could use up somebody else's oil instead of our own. We put into OPEC, but not the quantity of the Middle East. Why use up all of ours when they have a seemingly endless supply? But now we have to worry about Iran shutting off the Straits of Hormuz and the speculators going crazy with the gas prices. All the while the uninformed are blaming the President. They're screaming Keystone pipeline which wouldn't help one damn bit with oil prices, since it's being sold to China, while we get all the oil spills. They've had 12 so far the first year. They have done some tar sand drilling in Michigan, had a spill 20 months ago and had to close off 14 miles of the Kalamazoo River and they still can't figure out how to clean it up because most of the oil sinks to the bottom and stays there. People are getting sick, have bad headaches, burning eyes, etc. Can you imagine what would happen if they run that thing clear down this country?? Canada was smart enough not to want it running across THEIR land.
I'm for a PUBLIC OWNED (not private) Oil/Gas company oil on government land now all the profits are going to the BIG oil companies and who knows how much they are exporting? This would be one way to get a handle on the spikes and speculation, And we would reap the gains in lower prices at the pump! Make ANY SENSE??? It would give a job for all the solders coming home! And another reason NOT to fight for the vile stuff!
I'm with the President, we must be done with these fossil fuels! How much longer will we permanently destroy land and water, as we are held hostage to BIG oil and the threat of being cut off from the east?
XXX OOO, That I have been for for along time. Green energy is the future and oil is well with the dinosaurs . Have not seen any of them lately. The oil company's have held us hostage for years. They have rang evrey drop and dollar out of us.
Sanatorium is out of his ever loving mind. He dose not have enough delegates. Did not file needed papers in some places in Ohio and other states, one being Washington. This is one time i hope Newt stays to the finish and keeps sanatorium at bay! Women in America better not let Sanatorium get anywhere near the White House because of his stance on women's health care. A vote for this man is to send us back to the dark ages and invoke the Catholic Church into Government.
No No keep this idiot in. The more he lies the better it works For our President..He is so far out of touch with reality its sickening..
Santorum is right only he has the ability to appear to be able to challenge Romney. Newt win never win, he got killed on Super Tuesday and won only Georgia while finishing third or last everywhere else. The longer Newt stays in the lower the chance of a GOP victory....but he and his ego refuse hop out of the race.......sucks to be GOP
I was watching Romney talking about grits and how he loved them. This is off subject, sort off. I, sort of , can identify with his clumsy narrative. My husband and I motored down thru the south on our honeymoon to the Florida Keys. I had never been south of Iowa. I remember going through Georgia with it's red clay and road gangs of prisoners in chains working on the highways. I also had a very big OOOPS moment there. We had stopped for breakfast and this little bowl of white stuff was served to me along with my breakfast. I thought "how different". I got the biggest "hairy eyeball" when I asked in my distinct northern accent. "may I please have some cream for my "cream of wheat". BIG WHOOPS! Nice memory though.
And Chicory coffee. Yuk!
All three of these guys are getting boring, they say the same things over and over again. Santorum is the preacher man trying to tell women they should home school there kids becasue he wants to get rid of giving federal money to the states, Ronmey isn't comfortable in his own skin, Gingrich is just a guy in a suit, and poor Paul is loving it becasue he gets a few laughs every not and then.. I just want them to go away until Nov. so we can vote for the real president, OBAMA..
