Senator Inhofe, ranking member of the Committee on Environment and Public Works, says global warming is a hoax because the Bible tells him so.
In a radio interview with Voice of Christian Youth America Inhofe stated that we are arrogant to think that man has the ability to change God's plan for the climate. He presumably said this in an air-conditioned room.
Talking about his latest book The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future, Inhofe was asked about the significance of using scripture to deny climate change:
"...the Genesis 8:22 that I use in there is that “as long as the earth remains there will be springtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night.” My point is, God’s still up there. The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous."
Senator Inhofe recieves $1,352,523 in campaign contributions from oil and gas companies which includes $90,950 from Koch Industries which makes Koch Industries Inhofe's number one campaign contributor. The Koch Brothers are ardent climate change deniers.
So while there's overwhelming scientific evidence to suggest that climate change is happening, that the earth is getting warmer and that there's more man-made Co2 in the air since the industrial revolution to draw any correlation between these things is arrogant and outrageous because God controls the climate.
Maybe God's against microwaves as well.

Maybe it's just me, but since I've been watching this race to the GOP nomination, it seems that a lot of these people follow the Old Testament quite a bit.
They say they are Christians. Too many seem to not follow Christ's teachings let alone the rest of the New Testament. For that matter only a verses of the Old.

There are many verses in the bible that describe the Earth as a "sphere or a circle" Evolutionist are the one's that promoted the false belief that the Bible teaches "A flat Earth " to discredit Christians.

The Scientific Method and Logic proves the ineffectualness of god: (A thought experiment) Question asked: Is god supernatural (ineffectual) or natural (effectual)? Hypothesis: Either God is supernatural and separate from all actions in the Bible or God is natural and the Bible actually did happen. Test & Result (A&B): A. With God being supernatural, ineffectual, it must be outside of anyone's reality so it can't and doesn't have an effect in the reality that it is supernatural to. If God were able to affect the natural reality then God wouldn't be supernatural it would be natural therefore proving the first assertion to be correct. B. With God being natural, effectual, then everything in the bible did actually happen. Then why does the church want you to have acquiescence or unquestioning belief in God's supposed environmental effect on your reality? It's your reality regardless of your belief in God proving the second claim to be erroneous. Conclusion: I can't say that your god is ineffectual because your idea of what god is is effectual to you. Your God is your subjective idea and therefore it’s in your head so it is real only to you also it does not have control over the macroscopic actions of human reality. Human beings are relevant to their own Nature or their own Universe, so any mental constructs or ideas are human and devised to gratify their ego or the egos of others; while the Bible is a stalwart book of authoritativeness. You have to believe everything in your chosen Bible as being true. Do you believe in talking burning bushes? You can't cherry pick certain sections and just believe those select sections. Here's the deal. Climate change matters because plants and animals can't adapt fast enough to keep up. This causes gaps to start forming in the intricate web of life and species interdependence that has taken eons for nature to develop. If a species is lost to extinction, dozens of other species are affected because of this interdependence. This causes gaps to start forming in complex eco systems. At a certain tipping point, a domino effect will occur and a massive ecological collapse will be the result. Most important right now are the dieing oceans. Rising ocean temperatures and increasing acidification are killing the krill, phytoplankton and other tiny sea creatures that form the very base of the planet's food chain. Loss of these species will create a massive eco collapse that will have dire consequences for every living thing on earth. The sad part is, as our leaders debate how protecting the environment is "too expensive", the collapse is well underway and it is already too late to stop it.
Perhaps Mr Imhofe should have read more of the Bible than 8 chapters of Genesis. Like Revelation, or even about the flood. How does he figure that effected the climate and planting and harvesttime? The Bible may say there will be spring and summer, cold and heat etc. But it doesn't say how hot or cold it will be or what will happen during those seasons. I guess Mr Imhofe is secure in his AC'd mansion protected from floods, tornados, heat waves, ice storms or other freak storms which according to him never happen. When Texans were dying from extreme weather last summer I guess he was off to see the Koch Bros in his tinted window, AC'd limo. (I know-he lives in Okla) I guess it was God's plan for the BP oil spill, the 1816 summer where it snowed for three months and there was no sun because of a volcano eruption and on and on with examples. He just shows how stupid and or uneducated he is. What arrogance to call yourself a christian and write about a book and a god you really know nothing about. As a professor of New Testament literature I have a good working knowledge of that literature and how it was created beginning about the year 1000 B. C. E. It consists of many forms and genres of literature: poetry, history, hymns, prophecy (not prediction but confronting the powers) Nowhere and I mean nowhere have I encountered a text on environmental science, astronomy or biology. I shutter to think of the violence and downright abuse folks like this are doing to Scriptures. I shutter more that there are folks like this determining our public policy. We are in profound trouble!

They also told us the earth was the center of the universe and all planets revolved around it, changing their minds again they said the sun was the center, now they say there is no center. I think scientists also told us the Polar Bear population was decreasing, when in fact it has grown since the late 1960's.

Any time a politician brings faith into the picture the door is open to criticism. Then again whenever science and history are introduced to combat Man-Caused Global Warming that person is also criticised.
The truth is temperatures during the Little Ice Age, 1550 AD to 1850 AD, fell without any influence for man. The truth is that during the Medieval Climate Optimum, 950 to 1250 AD, temperatures increased without the influence of man.
The truth is both these period of climate warming and climate cooling were before the second Industrial Revolution (1870 to 1915) when internal combustion engines and electric power were introduced.
The truth is there were periods of excessive cooling (Ice Ages) and periods of excessive drought long before man even existed.
The truth is scientists supporting Man-Caused Global Warming primarily use data collected from 1850 to present. They essentially know little of temperatures or temperature changes prior to the expanded worldwide use of thermometers. Scientists do know of at least five major Ice Ages in the history of the world that decreased global temperatures significantly. They also project a coming Ice Age in our distant future that has nothing at all to do with Man.
The true is the vast majority of data used to support Man-Caused Global Warming started to be collected at the end of the Little Ice Age. A child could tell you that temperatures will go up at the end of a cooling period, it doesn't take a scientist. If they didn't go up it wouldn't have been the end of the cooling period, would it.
Most of you here freely accept one laughing at a man for his belief in God and the Bible, while at the same time you blindly accept the concept of Man-Caused Global Warming, regardless of the facts.
