India, I am so sorry he lost family there. I have Jewish ancestry on my Moms ,Dads side. I am getting informationthis month , That has been traced back to King David and a family who did it has it documented. I am anxious to see it. So I wonder how many of my ancestors died in camps ? When went to Poland it was amazing . At the border was a man and the couple I was with gave him a ride back to his home. It was wonderful. We stayed in the home of his Polish Grandmother.I want to say Warsaw. He was our tour guide. We saw the castle and where the Polish kings and kings are, where the Walled ghetto was and the Jews were kept. We ate wonderful food at the best restaurant and It was wonderful. Oh and on the way there he took us inside a beautiful church, It was all wood. with beautiful carving and painting. Then he took us where the camp was outside of town and where they were deported. You are right so many died in the camps, Jehovah witness, gays, The mentally challenged, if they were inferior Hitler wanted them gone. At Dachau some were curious what was behind the wall. They found out as they were put in there. Don't know if they ever left. It was a horrible time for all who lived in Germany . It was hard to trust anyone. We have dear friend who remembers when he went to school you did not say good morning teacher but raise your arm and say heil Hitler. March's on the weekends. India, I knew it was not Warsaw, I would of like to have went there. It was Krakow, Poland. I went to so many places and I really need to write a story. I must tell you little of this family. The grandfather was an artists. Some of his paintings are in America. I cannot remember the Polish last name. They showed us a book he had and he kept record of where his art went. In the book was also sketches of Some holocaust pictures. I have little carving , Our wonderful and guide gave me to remember him. The grandmother such a sweet person took from her wall a salt holder and gave me. The Polish people are warm and wonderful people. I find you get what you give.
