Rick Santorum called President Obama a "snob" over the weekend for promoting higher education for all young Americans who want to continue their education.
"President Obama once said he wants everybody in America to go to college. What a snob," Santorum said Saturday at the Americans for Prosperity Presidential Forum in Troy, Michigan.
"There are good decent men and women who go out and work hard every day and put their skills to test that aren't taught by some liberal college professor to try to indoctrinate them. Oh, I understand why he wants you to go to college -- he wants to remake you in his image."
Speaking at the White House to Democratic governors on today, Obama took up the education issue but did not mention Santorum.
"When I speak about higher education we're not just talking about a four-year degree," the president said. "We're talking about somebody going to a community college and getting trained ... for that manufacturing job that now is requiring somebody walking through the door handling a million-dollar piece of equipment."
He continued, "They can't go in there unless they've got some basic training beyond what they received in high school."
Santorum spokeswoman Alice Stewart responded on MSNBC's NOW with Alex Wagner: "Well, we're glad that the president clarified that after Rick pointed that out."

By the way, Santorum has bachelor and master degrees, as well as a law degree.

If it was not for his rich employer friends that received tax cuts that was suppose to create more jobs, there would be more people with jobs. One of the first things that want to know you do have a diploma or GED. Next they want to know how much experience do you have? Just a list of questions that potentially will cut that person right out of a job. I realize experience is one qualification that is needed but how do you get experience if you cannot get the job giving you experience. What the President is proposing is great. It's help the person needing a job and that employer that received tax cuts. When you get a person with experience and some education it would be great to see what the next excuse the "tax cut employer" will say in order not to hire the person. We will see. With Santorum on the stump it will be you just cannot hire Bla's that might have a criminal record. Just one more excuse.

remember when they had the televised "health care reform" debate? according to fox and friends, they were absolutely slackjawed that President Obama "knows everything". i remember being impressed that day, too, with our President's knowledge of EVERYTHING.

Please everyone who has sense let's work hard to re-elect President Obama, I am more worried about voter suppression than anything else we need to have a plan to fight to make sure everyone who wants to vote do so. I live in Florida, where Rick Scott, our Governor eliminatated the last sunday in early voting, I know voters who can only vote early Sunday, So I'm making sure to get them to vote the first sunday.
