The Wisconsin Democratic party today released its first ad in the Walker recall campaign.
A significant victory for the campaign to recall Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
A top Walker aide said today the Republican governor won't challenge any of the one million signatures submitted on petitions seeking his recall from office because his campaign staff ran out of time to go through them all.
Walker had until 5 p.m. today to file challenges after being granted a 20-day extension to examine the signatures submitted last month (a request for a further two weeks was denied).
Spokeswoman Ciara Matthews said the Walker campaign found an error rate of about 10 percent to 20 percent among the entries it did examine, which is consistent with the 15% figure in a random sampling by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which is about normal for election petition drives.
Democrats and their allies submitted nearly double the 540,208 signatures needed to force a recall election against Walker, who is one of six Republican elected officials facing recall efforts.
The Government Accountability Board, which oversees Wisconsin elections, has until March 19 to rule whether there's enough valid signatures to trigger a recall election against Walker. If a recall election is called, it must take place within six weeks (by April 30).
Meantime, the Wisconsin Democratic party today released its first ad. “Walkergate” compares the investigation into current and former Walker aides to the Watergate scandal, juxtaposing news clips about the probe with coverage from the 1970s.

Good Going Wisconsin = Bye Bye GOMER !!!!!!! Boot Them ALL - Throw Them ALL In Prison !!!!!
Wow, did we win this one? I like the watergate, walkergate connection. What did we know and when did we know it?
Walker is toast Go people of wisconsin Recall the piece of trash out of office
Great Ad!
The snake is squirming.
he might be toast, but if they find he has done nothing illegal, he'll just get another job where he has some repub power, a lobbyist perhaps, or maybe the koch brothers will hire him.
i am happy for the people of wisconsin, however.
Yep, just like the newton. They like them crooks.
WOW 3 county employees. 1 guy blogging on the job, one thief and one pervert. That is all the National Union Dems could unearth....and they lead with that....LOL. Love the Ed Maddow as the Cronkite....powerful
How many protesting man-hours did the taxpayers pay for?
The Union candidate signed the restore the screwing of the taxpayer pledge.
Walker not only has the cash to win again we have only to compare WI to IL for proof of his budget repair successes.
Election again, bring it!!!
Bootstraps @ 7
Walker wants to get to the election as soon as possible to shut those dems/unions up. Look for the Dems to try to delay. They know what's coming when the people get to go to the polls.
I would like to see it as part of the general in Nov. It would make fiscal sense and the R's will show up, sending that budget maturity message nationally.
Cash does not mean a damn thing, and if you had been paying attention in Ohio on issue 2 getting blasted after the Kock bros invested millions you would have known that.
And as for his budget? If it was balanced they why did he have to use the homeowner settlement payout to fill his holes? Once again you 'righties' are wrong. See ya at the polls teabaggers!
Don't waste your breath on these two John, they are just here to feed. Keep you hands in your pockets. A picture is worth a thousand words.
LOL...Thats easier said than done Thankful Mom. But your are correct, just let an ignorant statement speak for itself.
John,
How much of Wisconsin's settlement was used for Wisconsin's budget? I'm here, I see it working. Illinoise raised taxes and borrowed money and cut programs.... they're still Billions in the hole....none of the above in WI
WI supports Walker.
You bet....Bring it
He used 26 million of the 150 to plug his holes. That tell you anything? If Walkers cuts worked then why is there a deficit to be plugged? Why has Wisconsin led the nation in job loss?
If you have been paying attention, WI leadership is under attack by outside special interests, Polls are sponsored by them. There are some Public Union fat cats out of work but who really give a @!$%#.
BS...
Right! Like David Koch!
Hey... Isn't he the guy whose trying to buy this recall for Walker, to the tune of about $10 Million?
He's probably also the guy paying you to troll here...
Putting you on 'ignore'... Had enough of BS...
Walker has been blaming the spend-happy Democrats recently voted out of office, but as with much of his rhetoric, this turns out to be a big lie:
So Walker created this deficit in order to justify his assault on working families. "Family values", indeed.
This news needs to be spread far and wide, especially as other states under Tea Party control move to follow Walker's lead. It may just turn out that their "deficits" are as phony as Wisconsin's.

This article was written a year ago. We have a Governor that uses smoke and mirrors to balance his budget also...His name is Rick Perry.
Nice cut and paste, superstar. Collective bargaining is not a right. Walker addresses the COSTS of government in his budget. Quite refreshing
Obama was just in Milwaukee and spoke of tax breaks for US Manufacturing (08 campaign re-hash). No different than Walker attracting business with tax intensives. I'm sorry big difference...Walker acted.
We get it... Unions have a lot to lose...tough @!$%#.
And what you fail to understand is there was not a defict in Wisconsin when Walker took over but he created one by giving his special interest groups 140 Million, then turned around and blamed it on the union wages and pensions in an attempt to kill public unions.
The President was referring to giving tax breaks to corporations and ones that moved jobs oversea in an attempt to bring them back. Another move the teabaggers are fighting. Great bunch of guys you hang out with I see.
Good job, John. Let's see how proud they are when Walker's gone.
That's what Rachel Schulz said. 3.3 Billion was the number.
140 million was for attracting commerce back to our state.
Then blamed the deficit on on the unions.....Understand?
The Dem/Union had a good gig, work rules were abusing the taxpayer, repaired and corrected...I understand.
LOL Guess you missed the part where it said 'Rolling back worker's barganing rights by itself saves almost nothing on it's own'.
They are not rights. On its own, it's ink on paper, implemented and it's individual municipalities and school districts empowered to install their own efficiencies without being hamstrung with unrealistic work rules put in place by corrupt Union/Dem negotiations.
It amazes me, this statement was proven false a year ago, but the lie still lives on as fact to a liberal.
This is true, (except for the term "rights") liberals use it constantly as a talking point, saying it does not save money. What concept they do not understand is that Act 10 was a tool to be used by local school boards and governments to control their costs. They were not forced to use it. Like a screw driver does nothing on its own unless you use it.
There is undeniable proof that districts that used the "tool" saved millions. Districts that did not, laid off workers. (teachers in Milwaukee)
Bootstraps, We may be outnumbered here on newsvine, but come election day, Us and the silent majority in Wisconsin will do the right thing and re-elect Walker. He has done more to improve this state in one year than the last guy did in 8.
When he wins, wouldn't it be great if his term restarts from that day.
The cost of new legislation, a substantial reduction in tax revenues and a series of outstanding debts have the state facing a budget shortfall of more than $143 million in 2013.
An analysis of the state's budget released Thursday by the Legislative Fiscal Bureau says lower-than-expected tax revenues generated by employment, consumption and home sales have hit Wisconsin hard, costing state coffers more than $272.8 million.
Unless Gov. Scott Walker finds some way to save at least $71.4 million by the end of the two-year spending plan in June 2013, he will be forced to author another budget repair bill, a move on Thursday he said would not be necessary.
"We will manage the budget by finding further efficiencies in government and continuing to eliminate waste," Walker said in a statement.
Last year the state had a shortfall of $72 million but only had months remaining to resolve it. That shortfall was used by the governor as part of the argument for his budget repair bill, which included stripping most collective bargaining rights from most state workers.
Walker's spokesman Cullen Werwie said this time the situation is different because Wisconsin has about a year and a half to work out the shortfall.
Dale Knapp, research director for the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance, said he doesn't expect the governor to make any sudden moves to fix the problem.
"The truth is, the economy is getting better, so a good portion of the $143 million could just go away," he said.
Democrats said the shortfall proves Walker's budget cuts didn't have their desired effect. Instead of stimulating growth, they said, the cuts have hurt residents without fixing the budget problem.
"Wisconsin's budget is now hundreds of millions of dollars in the red," said state Rep. Cory Mason, D-Racine, the ranking Assembly Democrat on the Legislature's budget committee. "The stark negative budget number we are now confronting is an unequivocal sign that Walker's divisive approach has failed.

Walker also had a 136 million deficit in 2011.
And part of the cuts he's planning is child healthcare.
WI Dems were fine with 3.3 Billion now bitch about 72 million? The FIB 14 had a Illinoise model with a California fetish.
I love the ad. Now Walker is going to have the chance to walk the unemployment line. I am so proud of the effort of the people that worked on the Walker Recall.
But, remember this is not over yet. There is a need to not only re-elect President Obama, but also give him a good majority in the House and Senate(any number over 60 will do the trick). And in Wisconsin it will be important to elect a good progressive governor and legislature to undo the wrongs that were done in Wisconsin.
I was once a Republican, maybe not a card carrying one, but I supported everything they did. Well, the Tea Party has convinced me that maybe I was wrong in trusting the GOP so much. I now feel that I am a Progressive Independent Republican. It may seem at odds at what one would think, but that's what I feel like now. And that's my opinion.
Yay, Tom! Always glad to see someone turn away from the Dark Side!
You know its funny, we only had about 25-30 thousand people out getting the recall signatures, and we got 1 million signatures, and we did it in 60 days, but they can't even get enough voluntaries to sit in a nice warm building to check 1 million signatures within 30days. Sounds like Walker supporters are far and few between, maybe they are finally waking up!!
But don't be fooled the KOCH BROS are totally behind Walker, spending millions on TV, radios across WI. Most of the ads are untruths, or spinning the truth as they want us to see it, but I truly believe the people of WI know the truth and we will prevail in the end!
But don't be fooled by the UNION MONEY which is totally behind Falk, spending millions on TV, radios across WI. Most of the ads will be untruths, or spinning the truth as they want us to see it, Much like this Walkergate ad.
Get used to it in Wisconsin. This type of ad is all that you will see from the left. They have nothing to run on. They need to demonize and discredit. If they try to run on their record of raising taxes or overturning Act 10 to give power back to the unions, to waste our tax dollars, they WILL lose.
25-30 thousand people out getting the recall signatures, and we got 1 million signatures, and we did it in 60 days
If one generously concedes that 3/4 are legitimate.....all that hype.....That's not impressive at all.
Falksigning that pledge is illegal. Pay for play, we give you money if you agree to do something for us. She signed a pledge, with the union, to hold a budget hostage if repeal of collective bargaining was not in it. Blatently illegal. No 2 year witch hunt needed here.
Why is this not all over the news. Should we call this FalkGate.
Agreed
Walker was elected with 1.1 million votes. By your reasoning, that wasn't impressive at all.
They got almost that many for a petition for his recall. Wonder how the actual election will go?
1.1 million on one day...I know election day. But 60 efin days of tut-tuts on every major intersection, 60 days of outsider money bombarding this state with BS Ed show talking point bumperstiker propiganda via John from Texas (above). WI voters know the issue and 60 days of drive through convenience and I bet 600k are legit....no not impressive. It will take twice that on election day to recall our fiscal hero. I know how that will go.
Bootstraps, Agree.
Signatures do not translate into votes. It easy to sign a petition while strolling thru the mall. And easy to sign multiple times. Its a whole other story to make the effort to go vote.
Getting nervous boys?
Not at all, with or without Walker the Union/Dem sodomy of the WI taxpayer has been exposed. Like tooth paste out of the tube it can't go back in. If Falk runs on that she will get pasted.
The only one thats been exposed is your boy scotty.
John they are getting nervous as sheep at a Scottish kilt convention.
John in Texas--thank you for your fantastic post re: scottie boy. scottie is busy collecting money from his rich benefactors who pull his strings while his job seems to be ignored. scottie is trying to save himself. union busting/destroying workers rights/dismantling our once stellar education system/cutting health care/ his "my way or the highway approach"/ his refusal to dialogue with the other side while taking phone calls from fake-koch/etc etc etc. I live in Wisconsin. We lead the nation in job loss. Our state totally divided. Look at scottie's eyes--blank and emotionless. the koch's are pouring money into our state spinning the truth thinking we won't know the real truth. scottie's pink slip is coming and not soon enough unless he is arrested like his associates. Walkergate is real just like Nixon and his Watergate.
Ignorance of Koch Industries influence comes from the Obama campaign. Link
And Walker should know all about the KOCK bros, after all they are phone buddies.
after all they are phone buddies.
I remember that Walker was duped and was talking to a radio tut-tut. I don't think they are friendly.
Ever listen to the conversation? Walker thought he hit the big time getting a call from a Kock bro. It was hilarious to listen to. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if lil scotty snapped to attention when he realized who he thought he was talking to.
Correct, he didn't know Koch from Pepsi.
You Can Stick a fork in Walker, He's Done, he can count the remaining Months he has in office on the fingers of one Hand!! HA HA HAAAAA
FIB budget and credit rating hahahahhahahhahahhahahaha
Wisconsin you have won one more battle. You still have to win the war. Stay strong Wisconsin because you will be one of the take off sites of getting rid of government riff raff. Show Walker and the Koch Brothers, it is more about people than money. All of that money he did away with and now he is saying he is for the people. The man is a true joke.
What a waste of tax payers money. Leave it to the union run democrats to waste more tax money.
Funny thing, the number of signatures are almost the same number that voted against Walker.
I guess the people that voted for him did not sign the recall/waste of tax payer money.
How many millions did scotty waste on his voter suppression law?
I am glad Ed still tells it like it is. Not able to see the ed show lately---(6 months) had to drop cable to heat home. Caught video clip on line! My next door neighbor had to pickle her house and move to New Jersey for the winter because she could not afford to heat her home. First time ever!! Watching scott walker and like minded republicans reminds me how far OUT OF TOUCH they really are with whats going on out here!! Income distruction IS killing whats left of the middle class fokes! Walkers just the first that WILL fall kockie boys. Your money is going to FAIL!!!!! 2003 fuel oil was .84 cents per gallon and bi-weekly healthcare deduction was 28.00-------Now 3.89 per gallon for fuel oil and 140.00 bi-weekly for health insurance and co-pays and 5000.00 annuel deduct!!
Ed lies
And what chances would you have given scotty in his campaign if he ran on killing the unions? Now there was a lie.
WI law before corporation money took our government away from we the people. No corporation doing business in this state shall pay or contribute or offer consent or agree to pay or contribute, directly or indirectly, any money, prperty, free service of its officers or employees or things of values to any political party, organization, comittee or individual for any political purpose whatsoever, or for the purpose of influencing legislation of any kind, or to promote or defeat the candiadcy of any person for nomination, appointment or election to any political office. This from a time when both corporations made money and we the people did.
