Santorum vs. Occupy Tacoma

AP
Rick Santorum speaking in Tacoma, Washington
-Rick Santorum may be surging in recent polls but he had to face a very vocal opposition on Monday evening at a speech in Tacoma, Washington. Santorum’s speech took place on the eve of an historic day for the state—Gov. Christine Gregoire had just signed legislation to make Washington the seventh state to legalize same-sex marriage— and tensions at the conservative gathering in the typically blue state were at a high. Santorum called it “a sad day for many people” and paralleled Washington’s new law with the ruling against Proposition 8 in California. At which point, members of Occupy Tacoma began chanting and attempting to drown him out for the remainder of his speech.
“I think it’s really important to understand what this radical element represents. Because what they represent is true intolerance.” Santorum shouted over the Occupiers— a sentiment that was met with cheers from his supporters.
He continued: “The amazing thing is we hear people here tonight trying to divide America into one percentage versus another percentage—that’s not what a leader of this country should do. But Barack Obama has sided with the 99 versus one. He supported this movement— this movement that is intolerant and disrespectful. He supported them and embraced them. Nancy Pelosi supported and embraced them. Why? Because they’re consistent with exactly what Barack Obama is trying to do with this country. He is systematically trying to divide this country more than any other president in the history of this country.”
Santorum has used this argument before—claiming that the President has aligned himself with the Occupy movement as a means of dividing the country for his political benefit. Monday night reflected Santorum’s gain in momentum as his conservative supporters rallied with counter-chants aimed at the Occupiers (such as “Get a Job!”) and managed to drown out the opposition (and quite the scene when two members of Occupy were dragged out by police) to allow his speech to continue.
Santorum is no stranger to this type of controversy—his socially conservative views are what caused his infamous Google problem and have made him the target of glitter bombs (again and again and again)—but it seems that as he climbs in the polls, it will take Occupiers a bit more than chants and glitter to stop the momentum.
Civil Rights Era Activist's Home Saved By Occupy Nashville
-On a lighter note, Occupy Nashville has successfully saved former civil rights activist Helen Bailey’s home from foreclosure after over 80,000 people signed a petition on Change.org to show their support. Bailey, a 78 year old grandmother, had attempted to refinance her mortgage with JP Morgan Chase-- but the bank initially would not allow it. That’s when Occupy Nashville went the route of Occupy Our Homes and got involved. Occupy Our Homes is an offset of the Occupy Wall Street movement that focuses its efforts on the foreclosure crisis- their website states “we, the 99%, are standing up to Wall Street banks and demanding they negotiate with homeowners instead of foreclosing on them. Occupy Our Homes is a movement that supports Americans who stand up to their banks and fight for their homes. We believe everyone has a right to decent, affordable housing.”
Occupy Nashville created the Change.org petition and garnered the support of tens of thousands, including activists such as Cornel West, until a deal was finally reached that will allow Bailey to reside in her home, “down the street from the church she loves”, until she dies.
Overwhelmed by the efforts, Bailey said, “I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I love my home and my community and I am so blessed to be able to stay here. I am thankful for the support of my neighbors and the nation.”
The 99 Percent "Breaks Up" With Bank of America

cg42
-Valentine’s Day was rough on the relationship between the 99 Percent Movement and Bank of America. On Tuesday activists in New York City gathered for a mass “break up” with the bank—asking people to join them in a march to a nearby Bank of America to close their accounts. From the press release published at the Paramus Post: “Bank of America loves profits more than people. We, the 99%, want out of this abusive relationship. Bank of America has foreclosed on more homes than any other bank in the United States. On February 14th, Valentine’s Day, housing and environmental activists will break up with the Bank of America.” The Occupy movement has been successful in pushing people to transfer their money from big banks in the past—in November they held a “Bank Transfer Day” that saw around 200,000 people move their accounts to credit unions and local banks. Consulting firm cg42 estimates that big bank customers will collectively withdraw $185 billion in deposited funds in 2012 and found that Bank of America is the most vulnerable to customer defection.

I do not know about you, but Ihave heard enough of Sanatorium. He is beyond RADICAL! A man who is preaching from his bully pulpit. This man is not fit to be president. He is disrespectful to many in this nation!!! To vote for him is to take us back to dark ages, and frankly Iwant to go forward not backward ! Good news for Ohio He did not file paperwork in some county's and WILL NOT GET DELEGATES! I do not think Ohio will be swinging for the Bedroom Candidate !!!!
agreed, pam. he is sickening. his head is getting so big it's going to explode soon. he's just like the rest of them...they all lie.
Exactly Pam and KV !
What we want to watch for the rest of this political season is the pot calling the kettle black. The Robber Baron, Republicon Robots will be throwing all kinds of statments at the wall to see if they stick.
The only real divide in this country is :
THERE ARE THOSE WHO LIVE IN AMERICA : Those who make their money here and gladly give back to the system that supports them in terms of taxes and re-investments in this country and employees.
THERE ARE THOSE WHO LIVE OFF OF AMERICA : Those who take farm and corporate subsidies they do not need, take tax dollars that don't belong to them, take money from American consumers fraudulently . . . and then put their profits in off shore banks where they do not have to pay taxes and so they do not have to give ANYTHING back to this country or their employees.
MsT, What a great post. Your definitions between the two groups are spot on !!!!!
i can't believe they think people are that stupid, MsT, not to know the truth about what they do and what they are about. AND now this womens health care issue is making me totally insane. i really hope we can gain back the majority in the house in nov.
Pam and KV . . . we know the truth about our beloved country and what goes on here . . . you both have articulated what we know so very well . . . we have to keep speaking up and keep voting !!
Hey Everyone = Hope ALL Is WELL = Yeah= INSANITORIUM - Seems To Think That RAPE IS An OK THANG ?????? This POS Is SOOOOO Far To The WRONG = HE Is Just Disgusting !!!!! What A DEEEEEEEK !!!!!
hey md. wrong is right! and didn't you mean freeeeeek?
Hey KV = No I Meant Deeek { D(CK } = Butt I Cannot Put The Proper Spelling Onto The Blog !!!!!

Thats OK = Now You Got It !!!!! I Use That Spelling So-As I Do Not Get Kicked Off Of The Blog - AGAIN !!!!!!
md, you're funny. i didn't know you could get back on once you've been ousted.
Hi kv:
MD only got suspended for a day......always the drama with this one. <giggle>
That picture above is as spooky as he is. It looks like all the lights are out and they just have him lit with a spot from underneath! Too bad Dracula didn't jump out and bite him in the neck! He needs to take his millions and go back under his rock.
At first, I thought it was Stephen Colbert without his glasses.
Pam I couldn't have said it better.
Pam along with you I have seen nothing positive in this man. He uses his religion as a weapon, and his ideas are archaic. I personally would like to see this country move forward and not backwards. I pray that God will not let this man give Christianity a bad name.
Too late my dear Thankfulmom . . . he and all his cronies have already done that !
But there are plenty of good Christians on this blog site and elsewhere in America. Our President Barack Obama and his family are prominent examples of the latter.
Ed, I have to agree there is a great devide in this country. The 50 percent that pay Federal Income Taxes that support Education, Health Care, Department of Defence, etc... and the 50 percent that do not yet receive the benefits. It is getting to the point that workingand earning your own way is no longer a nacessity, the government will support you. Government subsidies for housing, education, food, childcare, transportation, telephones, you name it and there is a government program to provide the service at no charge. All these programs are paid for by 50% of the citizenry. Why work when you can maintain a good lifestyle on the backs of others. Obama uses those that take agaist those that are taken from. The funny thing about it is Obama and every one else knows the system can not be sustained as our national debt continues to grow. At some point there will be more takers than the system can handle and the services will be cut. Then the riots will start.
2 = 4 Can You Put 2+2 Together ????? I Think NOT = It IS THE Wealthy And The Corporations And gop That -R- Taking Everything === YOU GOMER !!!!!!!!
But you have no problem with corporate welfare, correct? Like big oil getting a 25 BILION dollar subsidy?
Hi guys! I left for 30 seconds and here you are.
Hi ez!
So why do we subsidize the wealthy? You know....the ones that control 92% of the wealth while 300,000,000 split up the 8%.
There are many ways we can cut spending. The following is an article of just one of many, but they add up. All supporting links are to Conservative sites:
http://kathe38005821.newsvine.com/_news/2012/02/16/10427258-farm-subsidy-pork-just-one-of-many-programs-that-can-go
Just started it this morning. Have a little more research to do on a subsidy added to the largest subsidy in America, but you'll can get the gist.
We will always have the poor....that's stated in the Gospels.
Hi Kathe, I don't like subsidies at all, not for any one or anything. I also don't like tax exemptions, tax deductions, or tax loopholes. I understand tax exemption for religious organizations, 1st amendment and all, but the rest should pay taxes.
And your right, we will always have the poor and we, as individuals not the government will take care of the poor.
The problem as I see it we have far to many people depending on the government for nearly aspect of their lives. What is the motivation to work?
Like who? I have yet to meet someone who is poor because they it's fun despite the constant assertion by the right that all poor indeed do think this way. So who are these people who do nothing and pay no sales taxes on what they buy and choose to not have a job for fun.....I suspect that in reality they are really not that many of these folks to be causing the damage that the far right says they cause....
Again people aren't poor because they think it's fun and there is not a single little unimportant poor person out there living in the lap of luxury with unemployment benefits and welfare.......the Reagan administration invented the welfare queens myth and it was thoroughly debunked decades ago....resurrecting now it point less because it too will be thoroughly debunked by reality
How much do you give to charity? People should take care of their neighbors but they don't. Does one not take care of the poor as an individual when that individual pays taxes to the government apparatus that has built within itself the organization and devotion to take care of the poor?
Government is people my friend not some abstract force that exists purely to hurt all society.
2ez, I know of a couple that both work making minimum wage, can barely pay their rent and mostly have their gas or electricity cut off most of the time so cut the @!$%# making it sound like everyone that recieves help just dosen't want to work, you make yourself look like fools. Is there welfare abuse? Of course there is, just like there's corporate welfare abuse but I never hear you reichwingnuts complain about that.
CC & JiT: go visit the local schools. I taught 7th grade math, and had several pregnant girls. When ask what they are thinking, they'd respond with, "I'm going to get $90 a week!" As an 8th grader one of my exes was having her 2nd child, she was so proud! Lost track when she went to HS, but I bet she had more before graduating, if she did graduate.
All of these were generational welfare recipients. I had a great grandmother, looked to be in her 30s, so proud of her great granddaughter!
Cynical, I personally know five people that are perfectly capable of working but would rather live off the government. Each collects anywhere from $800.00 to $1,400 a month from Social Security. Two of them live together and each collects a check. They all receive food stamps. Three live in a subsidies apartments. Two of them own cars. Three have government paid for cell phones and free bus passes. Three of the five have worked in the past while two have never contributed to Social Security. Four of the five have extensive histories of drug and alcohol abuse. Three have been living off others their entire lives. One of them is a friend of my wife, while the others are all my family members. One my brother lives with me, I support him with exception to his cigarettes and clothing. He sends $350.00 a month to his ex-girl friend, also collecting Social Security for herself and their child. She has a total income of $1,600 a month. She hasn't worked for 20 years and she is only 43. Yet another is my sister, then there is her daughter, and her grand daughter, all collecting from the government. Al these people made personal decision that have put them where they are and none other them have ever expressed any desire to have it any other way. My point is there are a lot of people perfectly content being poor, it beats putting forth the effort of actually earning their own way.
As for charity. I give routinely. The Salvation Army, local Battered Womens Home and Breast Cancer Organization receive my donation throughout the year. As a matter of fact, just yesterday I gave $500.00 to a women that comes to my home a cleans twice a month. Two weeks ago she told me her car broke down. Yesterday she said it cost 2K to change the head. Her husband had to get a loan from the bank. I wish I could have done more for her, but the $500.00 helped. Just a few moths ago I gave a car to a fried for his son who needed it. Cynical people do take care of the neighbors, it is sad you don't understand that.Look at our response to the Hatti Earthquake. Private donations from US citizens were 6 or 7 times greater than our governments donation.
To answer you question concerning the government's involvement, NO! People pay taxes to satisfy a requirement of the government. Charity is an individual responsibility. You can't wash your hands and say you did your part because you paid taxes.
You are right about the government being people, but don't be misled to believe the government is all the people. The government is the politicians, each of which has their own motivation. More often than not that motivation is obtaining and retaining power.
Yes Capt I'm sure that is exactly why she got pregnant to live on a pitiful 90 dollars a week...you know some people have sex and also don't believe in abortion........
Again not met a single poor person who chose to be poor for fun and intended to stay poor because of all the fun they were having living on the tiny amount unemployment or welfare pay.........
So as I stated before this myth of the welfare queens living in the lap of luxury with food stamps and unemployment or welfare was debunked years ago and will serve to do nothing but create a distraction that shall fade after it too is debunked
CC: a 12 year old girl thinks $90 a week is a fortune, and sees herself doubling that every year or so. She is condemning herself to a life of poverty, but she doesn't understand it, and won't until she is in her 20s. Government is the overindulgent parent who traps these poor kids into a life of poverty, certainly no "welfare queens".
And yes, they enjoy the corollary benefits, sex with every promiscuous boy at the Jr. High!
John, I had a good neighbor in the similar situation. They were married and she was pregnant. He had a good job, paid very well in the aviation community, but he was laid off for over a year. She sewed and was paid by the amount of work she did, generally 10 to 20 cents per item. They were Filipino. They were close to losing their home when I loaded them 10K to hold the over. It took me nearly a year to convince Sara, the wife to get another job. The phone company had been hiring for several months and I kept pushing her. She honestly believed she couldn't get a better job and was content. I was surprised when she came over one night and said she had applied with the phone company for a position as a bilingual operator and that she was taking her interview over the phone that night. We waited until the call came in and when it was done she was told she had failed. We were all disappointed. Two days later she received a job offer for a non bilingual position. She started out making $15.00 an hour. I hate to say it but they moved several years ago. She is still with the company, he husband Andy has been working steady for the past 15 years, and their baby, my God Daughter is doing will in High School.
There are many ways we as family, neighbors, and friends help each other. We don't need the government to execute our individual responsibilities.
Nice thought but with poverty as high as it is in this country and with the middle class struggling, who has the resources to 'help' the unfortunate, the top 2%? Don't hold your breath for that to happen. I just despise people who make ignorant statements like the poor don't help themselves.
And Capt Crunch, you just gave the best argument on why we need birth control.
John, I really have a difficult time using the words Poverty and America in the same sentence. I associate Poverty with the inability to feed, cloth, and shelter, not the inability to have Internet access. When I think of Poverty Mexico, Cuba, and the Sudan come to mind. I also have a hard time understanding how the Middle Class is struggling. I understand some people have lost their jobs and some have lost their homes, but even the poorest among us have it really good. Take a visit across the border where a good daily wage is 8 dollars or you have to carry your water in a 5 gal bucket from a river to your shack. Poverty in the US means you only have 1 flat screen TV and your car is 8 years old. You think I am wrong take a drive to your local Welfare Office and try to find a parking space or better yet check out the cars driven to the free government food distribution centers. I will admit we have a big problem in the US. People attempt to live beyond their means. They buy homes they can afford, drive cars the can't afford, and have more debt than they can deal with. I mean really, look at the debt a career college student has. They will get out of High School and spend the next 6 of 7 years in college getting a Masters or in some cases a PHD and never work a day. Then they complain about the debt. They want to reap the benefits of a college education but want some one else to pay for it. Now the government is borrowing and printing money to pay for all this and the value of the dollar is in the toilet. By the time I die I will be in poverty, not because I was ill-prepared for retirement, but because the money I do have will be worthless. The government could seize all the wealth of the top 2% of earners and it wouldn't begin to address the debt. The problem in our hoseholds and government are very similar excessive spending, living on credit.
You must live in walt disney world 2ez.
Got a lot of starvation in Texas John? Every year 15 million people, mostly children die of starvation, most of which are from Africa and Asia. In the US there are as many as two deaths from starvation a year and they are attributed to parental neglect. Who is living in Disney Land John? Tell me again how bad we have it.
JiT: why do you think I am against birth control? Just wondering.
So it takes children to starve to death before you admit there is a poverty problem in this country? How warped is that. And who is 'we'? You got a mouse in your pocket? My church started up a fund for kids who's only meal they get is when they go to school. And yes I believe you live in a unrealistic world 2ez and your posts prove it.
Capt Crunch I didn't say you were against birth control, I just said you gave the best argument for it
Two deaths from starvation.....two.....I suspect the statistic is just a little tidly bit higher than that.....just a feeling. You are correct to note that it not as much of a problem here but there none the less are many people not eating enough here, who are also children....and in my personal opinion one is too many.....so let us make sure that is so noted.
On education I think what many people in fact are outraged about is that to get a decent job one needs some college education and that this education often does come at a very high price and then when there are no jobs paying down that high debt on said necessary education becomes difficult......education is important that one should not have to depend on credit to access it....credit is not acceptable....loans are not to be taken as lightly as our society does.....
Think back some years ago where you could get an education just up to high school and be fine....you could have a life and a fair job. Today...no chance. The outrageous part about that is that we have been paying more and more for this k-12 education and it's value has been going down, and more down. That has to change if this nation is going to compete in the world.
Well said CC
Cynical, The problem with "Freedom" is it leaves us to make our own decisions. People are free to succeed and they are free to fail. We are free to make our own decisions but have to answer for them or at least live with them. Please read the following closely. I would rather see freedom retained at the cost of life, than freedom be removed and our decisions placed in the hands of the government.
There are many things in our lives that harm and even kill us, but we are free to pursue them. We know alcohol, drugs, smoking, even eating can kill us yet we do drugs, drink, smoke and eat too much. We are free to snowboard or base jump and we are often killed or seriously injured.
When we get to the point that the government is seizing our children because someone believes they can do a better job raising them, or the government prohibits activity because it is too costly to the medical industry, or it dictates our diet, etc... I have a problem.
Motorcycle helmet and seatbelt laws are a great example. We are too stupid for our own good, so we need the government to look out for us. With the new Health Care Law how long before other activities are restricted or out right prohibited. They are already talking about raising Medicare co-pays for smokers. Will they do the same for Gays because of the increased probability of HIV? Perhaps increased co-pays for overweight people? Will red meat be prohibited because of its impacts on the heart? Will the government mandate physical training for all citizens like the military?
The bottom line is in a Free Society people are free to fail. They are free to be bad parents. They are free to live beyond their means and make poor financial decisions. They are free to eat what they want, drive what they want, wear what they want, believe what they want, etc... People are free to drop out of school
As I see what is taking place in this country I wonder how free we really are? The entire debate on Gay marriage is confusing to me. My question is what business is it of mine or better yet the government. I honestly see no reason for any level of government to be involved with marriage. If the government simply got out of the marriage business anyone could get married. As for survivor benefits, hospital visitation , insurance coverage, a valid marriage certificate should do the trick. Once again the Government has limited our freedom.
The best one is the war on drugs. Don't get me wrong I hate drugs and their abuse, but what business is it to the government. Especially when the same government to made them illegal, arrested and incarcerated millions for drug crimes passes out free drugs. Heroin is illegal but Methadone is not and its free. The government says possession and use of meth is a felony worthy of incarceration and its addiction is a disease worthy of medical treatment.
My point in all this is government is not the answer, it is the problem.
John, You make a few very interesting points in your last comment, I doubt you know that. The first is at face value, an admission that Federal, state and local social programs intended to feed the poor do not work. If the only meal a child is getting is from the school, where is the government money going to the families being spent? What is purchased with the food stamp money, the welfare money, the Social Security money, all of which is typically provided to families, especially those with children by the government.
The second point you make that supports my opinion is that it is the church, neighbors, and friends that are successfully addressing the issue, not the Government. Your opinion of government having the answers seems to be contradicted by your actions, "service to your neighbors". You know the government programs do not work yet you defend them tooth.
And the "We" is us, the Middle Class. I know "We" the Middle Class are divided in our approach to problems. There are really two Middle Classes, the 50% that achieve economic success and pay Federal Income Tax and the 50% that rely on government subsidies to achieve a Middle Class Income. We have all met the threshold income requirements that make us Middle Class, it is just half of us did it through work and the other through government programs.
You can believe what the government tell you about Poverty in the United States, but the fact remains when compared to other Nations there is no Poverty here.
So John, has your local government stepped in and addressed the criminal aspects of child abuse and neglect with the parents of the children that only eat when at school? Better yet, do you believe the government could do a better job raising those children and that the children should be seized by the government?
I hope his behavior toward the Ocuppy comes back to bit him in the rear. Mr. oh so holier than thou.
Me three Thankfulmom ! Just wait until November of 2012 . . . all of the lies they tell and the hate they spread and the civil rights they violate will com back to huant them because . . .
OBAMA / BIDEN IN 2012 AND A DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY WILL RULE THE DAY !!!
Hopefully Sanitorium won't come back here again. He might not be nearly as welcome next time.
Why does he lie so much? He won't be happy until Obama sends the National Guard and there are bodies on the ground?
These "candidates" need to quit with the Obama bashing and start addressing the issues comprehensively and coherently without all the conspicuous lying.
I find Santorum's intolerance to be personally offensive. May he receive this kind of treatment wherever he tries to speak in a public forum.
feraltwinkie, MsT, and xxxooo: you say he is intolerant and personally offensive? You need to look in the mirror and consider think about what you are advocating.
LOL..Capt, you're a riot. Give us some examples of rightous ricks 'tolerance' on gays or the poor. That freak isn't worthy of shining feraltwinkie, MsT and xxxooo's shoes. Not surpising you would defend him...LOL
JiT: I was only showing their intolerance and personal offensiveness. You may not agree with Santorum (I know I don't), but their comments are unfounded. Why would you think so?
How about refering to the gay lifestyle as 'Man on dog'. They had a good reason to find him offensive. You may not have a problem with a statement like that but a helluva lot of people do. Santorum is a freak, period.
JiT: I missed his statement. Your explanation left something missing. I just haven't heard anything offensive from him. He seems to be gaining popularity, but we have seen that before. The only thing about him that bothers me is his stand on abortion. Guess I will see more if he continues to gain popularity.
Once again, the Capt. has selective hearing. You can't really be as obtuse as you seem, can you? Or maybe you can. Wow!
MJB you have to forgive Capt you see he lives in a place called reality optional land, it's the GOP's parrallel universe
But let's make this clear Capt supports the view that gay relationships are no different than man on dog.
Kathe and Feraltwinkie . . . he will get glittered every where he goes you can bet on that !
He got glittered here after his speech and in North Dakota last night before his speech.
Since the Tacoma incident he has asked for Government protection. He's scared of glitter while Obama has to deal with just a bit more serious threats. <sarc>
anybody voting for is looking for a handout or is trying to keep the one he already has.
Sanatorium was in FARGO last night and got a sparkling reception! As he was glitter bombed three times! Indeed he's shinning! I would have liked to presented him with a jar of BABY pickes NON Kosher of course!
Sugar subsidies are NOT money free money for farmers, Its to keep forigen sugar out of the US which may be substandard and keep the US market strong, Another screw up by Sanatorium!
Santorum says the occupiers are truly intolerant, why, because they interrupted his speech. But apparently it was ok when his beloved tea partiers were bussed in to interrupt the health care town halls,by shouting and screaming to drown out anything the speaker had to say.Where were the police when that was going on?Now Santorum wants us to pay FBI agents to protect him as he travels around the country. Why does he think he deserves a government entitlement.I hope they send a couple of women agents.
joca: he's right and you are right. I believe people should be able to express their points, I think of totalitarian regimes and stifling all criticisms. Those TPers were wrong to disrupt town meetings. If someone cannot debate their positions, they are admitting theirs is indefensible.
It's the height of ignorance for someone to ignore or try to stop others from expressing the opposing viewpoint (ignore = ignorance, to use MD/MI terminology).
Jeez! Get a room people.
All I know is that very few frightened folk are even falling in with Santorum and (thankfully) he will never be the nominee. It is Romney's turn. Let's hope he gives up and goes home after this.
He says occupy is intolerant and disrespectful. I guess that his and his followers anti gay anti women platform is tolerant and respectful? This just shows how the hardcore conservative base is so out of touch with reality. Outlaw birth control? This guy wants to put women in their " place". But vasectomies for men are ok?
As a man - married - I am offended by these idiots like him who think they know best how life should be for everyone else. Anyone that closed minded should stay the hell out of other peoples lives.
i am curious to know about the 12 or 13 years rick santorums now wife was living with her 1st boyfriend how she kept from having children! birth control perhaps? maybe they should be asking some more questions about there preaching to everyone else!!
She used crazy glue to keep the aspirin between her knees. Then Ricky found it and has been sniffing it ever since.
I find it so funny that all you hear from the Repub candidates is smaller gov't, and yet they propose to make birth control, abortions illegal and force women to have invasive vaginal sonograms. They are all such hypocrits,to me that is very intrusive Gov't.
I too continually wonder how the modern republican some how in any way sees itself as shrinking government....actually I take that back I see now how they're shrinking down government, they are making it small enough to slide into a woman's sexual organs or slide into people's ears to tell them what to think
yes having employers who are willing to pay for prescription drug costs pay for a prescription drug call birth control is satanic government takeover but subjecting women to a rape like procedure to have a legal abortion is okay...no problem
you want to use the power of the presidency to control gas prices...Newt Gingrich and Michelle Bachmann(chuckle) say no problem....that would in no involve government control of a private market
