Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, facing a Democratic recall effort for his attempts to curb union rights, gave President Barack Obama a friendly tarmac welcome today in Milwaukee.
After Air Force One landed and Obama deplaned, the governor presented him with a Milwaukee Brewers' jersey that bore the number 1 and Obama's name.
Lots of smiles, no finger wagging.
Quite a contrast from President Obama's welcome from Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.
Still, Walker did drop out of an Obama event at Master Lock.
Walker's spokesman, Cullen Werwie, said the governor was recovering from the flu and had to cancel his plans to go to the event.

Scott Walker has angered a lot of union folks, but he is popular with a lot of folks I know up there (my wife is from Eau Claire, WI). He has a lot of class, very typical of Wisconsinites.

Paula: Capt America was my call sign when I was bringing in ordanance in A4s and AH1s. It just stuck. That was long before the movie. And yes, I have 2 pensions from the government. That's why I know these pensions are unsustainable. I "earned" them both, federal (military) and state (teaching). I also know the elderly are the wealthiest segment of the population. It's just unsustainable, given the current demographics.

No one who has earned a pension should have to give it back...if CA worked hard enough and long enough to earn two, then he deserves to keep both. That is the agreement he had throughout the time of his employment.He should be thanked for his service to our country.
HOWEVER, we have to learn from our mistakes in the past and realize that we can not continue to do that. The only reasonable program that can work in today's economy is for unions (private and public sector) to participate in a 401K savings plan. Americans have to be more responsible in their planning for the future and actively participate in the process.
Unless I am mistaken...each and every single person in this country has a vested interest in the future of our country. It doesn't matter if you are a Koch or a Soros or a Obama or a Santorum or a Romney or a Joe Average Citizen.

JIT...Unless I am mistaken, what they are trying to do is change the future, not the past. I would not support taking away anyone's pension who has retired and earned it. For those who are currently employed, they should earn a pro-rated portion of their pension based on how much time they have put in on the job. All newcomers should be required to contribute to their own 401K plan combined with an employer match of 5% which is pretty much the standard in business.

Both governors are facing recalls! Please check out recallbrewer.com. Papers were filed on Feb 3 to recall "the jan". Walker will probably be in prison at about the time of the election in WI. This should be fun. At least Walker knows how to be respectful of the POTUS unlike the witch from Phoenix. I live in AZ (in Tucson, a much saner place where we have a slogan "keep Tucson Kind". We pulled together when Gabby was shot and most of the folks in our town are still nice to each other. People will let you blend in traffic and will let you out of a parking lot or drive even if it means they might miss a light. Tucson is much nicer than Phoenix that Pee party center of action.

I can't beleive Walker met Mr.President at the airport after all of his bad mouthing it had to be a show for the press. The reason he canceled the tour of the UNION plant was because the worker's did not want Walker there. He was advised to stay away.
