Yes. Mr. Romney as a CEO have made profits at the cost of peoples' job. He has no problem to fire people when his bonus income was not enough ( millions or billions). Corporate greed is what it is. He will make more poor people in America as he is not a leader for the people.
YES - Are You Kidding - He Wants ALL Of The Wealth To Flow To The Top = That Is ALL That He IS About !!!!! And WE ALL Realize That He Just Doesn't Have Quite Enuff Money - YET !!!!!
Yes.
Romney will tell the poor and the middle class " let them eat cake . . . and ketchup . . . because as Regan said so eloquently once . . . ketchup is a vegetable " . . . as he and his jack booted thugs are pushing the poor and middle class into a huge ditch . . . IF he becomes President . . . which, of course, he wont.
BainUSA....gut them...sell them....ship money to the Island's
This man knows nothing about what he speaks. He makes no sense to anyone, but himself.
Mst, maybe it will be like the Nazi prison camps if he gets elected. Please.
Ha - After All $375,000 Per Year = Is Merely Chump Change - Ha Ha !!! SO He Says !!!!Commie !!!
THANKFUL MOM - That's what's called a SUCKER pitch.He can't pull a good enough one to win the GENERAL ELECTION.We DEMOCRATS/INDEPENDENTS already see that.No matter how hard he tries,he sure the hell ain't getting my vote.
smiling seen this today
there are two kind of republicans >> the rich>> and suckers!
I agree with you Sen. Mr. Robme, already has caused poverty and financial distress to innocent people who trusted their employer. I can imagine what they went through and I do not even want to think about it. Right now we have a lot of people still suffering because of the policies of a GOP president. We do not need the GOP there again. Why should we go backwards? He has not shown benevolent concern before and I am sure he has not called those whom he hurt to say he is sorry or to offer some type of restitution. He caused it. It was not due to an economy but directly caused poverty to his fellow Americans.
One of you, posters, have a good motto. Everyone does better when everyone does better. And that is true. Our consciences are well trained when we think of others in the same way we think of ourselves, and when we act accordingly.
Pilot = You Mean The 'C'-or 'A'-Suckers !!!!!!
And he sure as hell will not get my vote.
He is thinking about the rich only and to hell with the poor and middle class.
That question has only one answer, yes, there will be a lot of poorer people if Mitt becomes president. The man is all about wealth and how to protect and INCREASE his own wealth at our expense. It isn't just Mitt, it's Gingrich also. Neither of them have the slightest idea of what middle Americans are struggling with in today's economy. They want to lower the tax rate on millionaires and billionaires while they RAISE taxes on the middle class and the working poor. President Obama today set out a proposal to help the millions of homeowners whose homes are worth less than their mortgages. Yet, you know that because the largest banking institutions would pay a fee to cover the refinanced mortgages, Republicans will never stand for it. I think it is absolutely appropriate for the large greedy bankers to pay a fee. It was the big greedy unwatched bankers who got us into this mess in the first place. I really don't understand how American voters who are not wealthy do not understand what will happen to them if Romney or Gingrich becomes president. Romney won in Florida. A state that has had one of the largest hits on home property values, yet these people are either too prejudiced or too ignorant of what a man worth over $250 billion dollars will do if he becomes president.
"romney sounds hecka crazy!!! and does not deserve to be in whitehouse..
he's just to rediculous idiology speaking!!
Of course there will be more poor people if he becomes president! He himself said today that he doesn't worry about poor people. I hope that people are listening and paying attention to what this man is saying. We have to make sure that he doesn't buy his way to the White House!
Romney has a cavalier attitude toward all humanity. He does not have the ability to provide a living by actually working, how can he relate to those of us, who have worked? He made a big deal, out of doing his own laundry, the other day, something that is common place, for the 99%. Mitt may get the nomination for president but he will never be elected, not honestly anyway. He may steal the election, as W did in 2000 and we all are suffering from the puppeteering politics, of his eight years.
Now, we have a guy who has NEVER had to wait; had a need, had a want, in his life. Unfortunately, he wants to train himself, as a "humanitarian" while acting as a leader, of the free world. Why would a man who has so mcuh wealth want to take on the stress of being the POTUS? Because he can buy it?
I for one, am happy with President Obamas accomplishments, even though he has had to fight against the Republicans, all the way. I hope in 2012, people will vote for President Obama. We cannot afford Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich . They both need mental health care and a wake up call, to experience actual work.
I want to see them work as a nurse. fireman, policeman, waiter or pick up elephant poop at the zoo. The 99% who work or cannot find work need a president who can lead us out of this quagmire, the Republicans have created. The Tea Party may want less government but I believe they will soon be affected by the deregulation, their boys Reagan and Bush incorporated into this country.
Most tea party members are middle class, I surmise. They claim to be "Christians." I wonder what their "Jesus" would say, if he were here today. I am willing to bet they would call Jesus a liberal and show their disdain for him, as they do Occupy Wall Street. Would they tell Jesus, to go take a shower and get a job? Jesus advocated sharing, compassion for others and giving. All the very reasons, the right hate liberals. So tell me, all of you on the right, have you abandon Jesus beliefs, just to keep from helping those who have less? Say those who a poor? Mitt does not "worry" about them. Are you ready to abandon them too? Oh, I forgot, you already have abandon them. Isn't that what the the Tea Party advocates?
Romney openly stated in Nevada that he thought it would be a good thing for rich people if the economy collapsed harder / again.
What we don't need is a President who is selfish and the only reason he has been running for President for over five years is to protect his own interests and grow his wealth. Looking at him makes me sick to my stomach.
CA,
I bet you 10K that it could happen again. Here a few thoughts on the form
When a man is creating his wealth on the back of working American and working poor, while he was at Bain Capital, where he brought companies, then fired workers, reduce their wages, shipped jobs to China, workers lost their pension, health insurance, etc. to make a quick profit and park his money at a far away island--then he called American envy of him. Does this sound like a man can relate to middle class and poor people who are struggling in this country? see video on Kingofbain.com
By the way, he said that when he become president of U.S, he like to reduce his 13.9 % tax rate lower, and raise tax on middle class and working poor. Is this sound like he's going to help struggling American?
if American workers question how Mitt made his wealth or about his 13.9 % tax rate or his Swiss Bank account, he will label you envy of him or class warfare? Does his respond sound like he's going to help you?
He's a corporate raider who worked for wall street and Bain Capital. A vote for Mitt is like a vote for wall street and big banks.
1.8 @ Afrommi : I agree with you. We need to make sure that we reelect President Obama.
The vote tonight represents 99% more poor !% more rich under Romney. We will be set back 130 years under him.
Sen_
You're absolutely right, we have to stay on message, and counter their spin and distract statement that confuse voters. These Tea Party and Extream GOP are everywhere, could be in this form.
Did you get a chance to see video on KingofBain.com and winning of our future on Mitt's medicare fraud video? it's amazing!
Yes, there will be more poor people, if any republican/tparty wins the election. It appears many groups are against Romney mainly because he is Mormon, i.e., evangelists, catholics, et al. These are the same people that believe that Newt is the better man, even if he has trashed the very basic tenets of a church. Let's be careful who gets the R/Tp nomination, especially since Newt has been 'converted' to catholicsm. And, Newt received $10 million from his Jewish friend, Adelson & wife. That's a lot of vote there too. Romney just might be the lesser of two evils. We should look at this a bit closer.
Every issue on the republican agenda is geared toward maximizing corporate/management profits and eliminating governmental over site and nothing else. Sameo Sameo rich get richer, poor get poorer and the sick and elderly go into bankruptcy so the corporations can take all your sh!t too. Nothing new in their Ideology. Their platform needs to be history.
Hey Louis David . . . great to see you !
Louis David, You are so right. They already have the foot soliders working, Walker, Brewer and kasick and on and on. They have to dismantle the states and put a capitalists president in . We thought we lived in free country but sure dose not feel like it !!!
What gets me is how can Wall Street keep up the profits are they literally selling the country right out from beneath our feet! I mean how long can it keep going before the whole economy fails! I heard today that job creation is NOT keeping up with population, Some things gotta give!!!
@Judy
I agree with everything you said.... and for the record, the TEAparty movement is NOT A GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT. It was started on Wall Street after President Obama was elected, as a response to his plans via Dodd/Frank, etc. to regulate the banking and to prevent them from continuing with wild speculation and gambling with mortgages and people's pensions, IRAs, etc. which caused the crash... and precipitated the bailout and economic crisis.
The TEAparty does want to get rid of government... and for the corporations to take over the government, even more then they already have been able to.... as they will encourage complete deregulation... allowing the bankers on Wall street to continue with their shenanigans as before.
The TEA party movement to destroy government is just a continuation of the GOP agenda for corporate takeover of the government, started by Ronnie Reagan 30 years ago. You also might find this video very interesting, if you haven't already seen it... as it talks about that GOP agenda led by Reagan to bring the government down, and build up the corporate and military.
http://www.facebook.com/AYBONfilm?v=app_271906046194002&xid=ss_2039654&fb_comment_id=fbc_10150397115007694_20444881_10150514586572694
That is all the GOP think is necessary to run the country, while government is just an unnecessary expense. But they certainly don't believe in the representative government set up by the founders of our Constitution, a "government for the people, by the people" as Abe Lincoln pointed out is ment to be how our government works. The GOP think that the only rights that count are those of the 1% and the corporations, those with the most money shall have the power.
@brian
Yeah... and if you watched Lawrence's show today, you know that it is still happening. That the Bain corporate raiders have been hired and are being paid an exorbinate amount to finish destroying American Airlines.... to avoid paying their employees' pensions, etc.
The only thing standing between the Bain boys doing so is the guy President Obama appointed to protect innocent workers pensions from being dumped in bankruptsies. You can bet if a Repug, whether Robme or Newt gets into office... no one will be looking out for the middle class or their pensions, much less health benefits, medicare, Social Security, etc.
I'm taking this even more personally as my brother is an American Airlines pilot and his pension is one of those at stake.
Willard Romney said today, he is not worry about the poor in this country because they have a safety net, the only problem is the safety net has large holes in it. Also he is not worry about the rich, himself included, because they are doing ok. Its the Middle class he is worry about. 107 million people (middle class) are one step from being poor. 57 million live in poverty now. Willard makes $54,000 every day, middle class worker doesn't make that in a year. Shared SACRIFICE and Fair and Balanced policies. Romney will add to the number of people being poor. (Bain Capital).
@Steve
Yeah... those holes have been created by the Repugs/TEApugs in Congress. Also he's not worried about the rich because they will be doing even better once he doubles up on their tax cuts, as he plans to do.... and eliminates all tax for capital gains. Robme and his family will be living tax free for the rest of their lives.
DScully,
in response to your post 1.26-
my understanding of the origins of the tea party is that it is based on racism. anti-semites and white supremacists have been given a platform by the tea party.
of course, they hate it when we bring this up, because they think we call 'racism' in response to every issue, but confederate flags and racist caricatures of Obama have been apparent at many tea party events. we all remember the venom directed at african american congressmen during the health care debate, which was absolutely racist. of course, fox news and the republicans deny ever seeing record of that.
racism and hatred are powerful motivators, and i believe that the tea party was in response to the fact that our President is an African American.
they didn't like the fact that they thought President Obama was going to regulate the banks, but i think that this was one of the many things that added fuel to the already existing fire of bigotry and hatred.
tea baggers/repubs love to say that racism is dead, that we are in a post racial era, bcause we have a black President.
in regard to racism, matters have been made worse since Barack became president. i believe that just goes to show that many americans tolerate black people, as long as they are kept 'in their place'. Barack Obama as president is just too much for many bigots.
repubs don't want wall street reform, they don't want health care reform, they don't want anything that our president wants. their main goal is get Obama out of office.
Brian 1.20 : President Obama will need to keep saying all the time about the accomplishments, so people will be able to realize how much the Repubs lies about him.
No I haven't seen the video yet.
@suzette
Yes... I agree that the TEAparty has been co-opted and joined by many of the far right wing nuts who are indeed racist, bigots, antisemites and white supremacists... but they didn't start the original group that the bankers started as a fake grassroots movement to protest the financial regulations.
Those radical far right groups that you mentioned... (like the John Birch society), have always been there of course, but had gone underground to some extent. They were generally ignored and rejected to some degree by the mainstream GOP and were forced to some extent to keep their activities and views out of the mainstream political activities.
But when the TEAparty was started to protest Obama's financial policies.... it was a perfect opportunity for those radical wing nuts to join in and make their racist and bigoted views heard. They were just dying to express their disapproval of what they viewed as an uppity black man having taken over the White House.
Yes... If Mitt Romney follows the sane patterns he did with Bain, and no reason to think he wun't, he'll break the government up, sell it off in pieces by privitizing what he can, sell the military to mercenary outfits, and fire whoever he can.
You know, I believe I've just figured out how the trolls on these polls get so many votes...
Go up to where you voted before you came to comment. You will find the vote area cleared. Vote again, then hit refresh. Your vote will be cleared, and you can vote again. And again. And again...
There is no limit to how many times you can vote in these polls! Except your conscience, and we know how many trolls have that...
Well, that is what he plans to practice. He takes a lot of pride in his performance at Bane and he feels no remorse for causing financial persecution and distress.
David, does that surprise you? T-publicans will lie, cheat and steal to get what they want. Putting any of these Republican candidates in office will show that Americans have NOT learned anything from the Bush presidency. We will be putting corruption in the top job of the presidency by voting for any of these spoiled, selfish, and out of touch candidates.
@David M. Johnson
What good ol' Flip Robme doesn't realize is that he and others like him will outsource industry we need to defend ourselves, Bush started this, the guys that build the hardware and software for our drones have been outsourced and are vunerable to theft by spies...
I might add that the South lost the Civil War due to the fact that they used all their free labor to make money and had no industry - if they had factories they would not have been so dependent on Europe to supply them with weapons.
The still wonder why and how they lost the war of 'great northern aggression...
Mitt is not left or right, but a corporate raider who create great wealth on the back of American people, and who has being lying throughout this vesting process.
When Mitt graduated from college, he went to work for wall street and Bain Capital, and made quick profit on the back of working America ( see king of bain), and has the nerve to tell America voters that he created jobs while he was at Bain. Further, Mitt has a pattern of flip flop, he will say and do anything to get your vote. Mitt has no core conviction. He has little passion and people that know him don' have a clue why he's running for president? By the way, last time, America elected a president with business executive experience was George W. Bush who tank the U.S and global enconomy in 2008. Unfortanetly, GOP and Mitt wants to go back to Bush years--by repeal financial regulation, repeal conssumer protection agency that protect consumer from financial "fraud."
Unlike Mitt, when president’s Obama graudated from Harvard University, he went to work for a nonprofit in his community as well as teaching at Unversity of Chicago before he ran for office--as a senator and now our president of U.S. Further, Obama has core value and passion, and he doesn't pay his tax at 13.9% rate and park his money oversea to avoid paying his taxes rate here like Mitt.
A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for Wall Street and Big banks.
David have you read my article on Corporate World Takeover!
xxxooo, I would like to read it. Where's the link?
I've been down because of my back and am reading Aftershock, by R. Reich. What an eye opener that is!
Romney said it!!!I did'nt! And he's Telling the truth!!!!that's how he feels.. @!$%# the poor!!!! He cares nothing about us.... Legalize marajuana!!! GO OBAMA!!!!2012!!!!
India, Click on xxxooo nick and go to his profile click on the article there.
@Ethelouise
That's right... most of the industry was in the North, where the economy of the south mainly consisted of plantations, worked by slave labor. So once they no longer had their slaves, they couldn't even bring in the crops they once had to live on.
I have often wondered why Mr Romney wanted to be bothered with being the
President of the United States. He certainly didn't need the money, so it must be
the influence the office could have. Tonight on the Lawrence O'Donnell show it
became crystal clear. It is the piece on the bankruptcy ruse of American Airlines. BANE CAPITAL!
Hi Dee
Robme claims he wants to take up the fight for the Presidency that his father failed to win.... but I think he wants the acceptance of the GOP... and being able to lower or abolish taxes for the rich even further are a big motivation.
I also think he has fanciful visions of finally turning the Federal government into a full fledged corporate enterprise, and doesn't have a clue what it really takes to run the country. He seems to think it's just a matter of watching the bottom line and creating a profit, like he did when he ran Bain.
Of course he did that for Bain by laying off workers and making off with any company assets. I expect he'll do the same with America's assets if elected.
Yes Mitt Romney could care less about the middle class he only cares about the wealthy. the poor won't have anything why because Mitt Romney will eliminate everything from the middle class americans. Who in the hell wants a 1% running the country I don't.
What he doesn't seem to realize is that there are more "poor" people out here compared to those rich bastards.
Ted, you are correct. There is one problem that Democrats face and that is educating the working poor what the Republican party is all about, MONEY for the rick and slave wages for the middle class. Many of these people are working two or more jobs just to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. They don't have time to sit and listen to news stories from MSNBC, CNN or National News. They just know that they have not seen any improvement in their homes. They don't know that the Republicans stone wall every option that the Presidents puts before Congress to keep this economy from growing. The Republicans want the economy to tank so that they can run on failed economic policies. We have to educate a lot of Democrats and Independents what will happen by putting a man in office who did not want the President to bail out the auto industry, a man who said, on camera, that we should not help the housing industry. We should just let it bottom out. Nice, it's not Romney's home on the auction block because he cannot find a job to keep a roof over the heads of his family. EDUCATING THE VOTERS IS WHAT WE NEED TO DO.
@Ted
This is why they have to cheat to win elections, by disinfranching voters.
We sure as blazes don't need a Mutt or a Newt (that is a lizard) running our country. I much prefer a human running our country. I doubt if the Mutt or the Lizard would be qualified to be dog catcher or to run a zoo. They qualify as residents of an ACORN CASTLE.
Susie...
Actually, my dear, newts are not lizards, which are reptiles. Newts are amphibians. Please refer to Newt as a toad, a much closer relative... and a closer resemblance...
@David
Amazing... Newt does look like a big, fat toad! Ribbit.
Valerie: Good evening. I could not agree with you more. The poor are weary.
Broken spirits lose their will to fight. They don't feel they matter, so why vote.
Grass roots education on the importance of voting, no matter what has to be
promoted feverishly. America is waking up, thanks to the information age and
social networks. Neighborhood organizing is a most important way to reach
out to these people. Neighbors talking to neighbors. It might not be all of the
answer, but where better to start.
No doubt in my mind. He couldn't care less about anyone but the rich. The poor aren't even a blip on his radar.
Absolutely. That's what happens to all the people he fires.
I've never heard a Republican express the slightest concern for the poor. Except for Gingrich, who wants them to clean the toilets in their schools.
... and in the process, put unionized janitors out of work...
But, we have underprivileged small children that need those jobs.
Yes . . . and Bain Capital is investing in a company that builds miniature mops and brooms and buckets . . . so the school kids can do their work with more ease . . .
.. and how many under privileged children have hard-working, unionized janitors as parents?
MsT Amen = And They Will be Manufactured In CHINA !!!!!!
There are holes in the safty net willard, for the very poor and the middle class. Hello, willard, are you in there?
Nope ; He Is In The Cayman Isles !!!!
well you see american airlines (be hard to call them that after this) filing bankruptcy laying off 13000 people most A&P (mechanics Airframe and Powerplant) doing the repairs out of country.
but the interesting thing is American eagle is doing the same and guess who is advising them at some high rate.
oh yes our good friends of destruction BAIN Capital!
@ MD/MI . . . exactly !!!
@ Thankfulmom . . . no he is not there . . . he is a robot !!!
@ Pilotshark . . . have you seen the movie Company Men ? OMG . . . it is America under Romney for sure !!!
@TheRealChris: I am sure that poverty will be the norm for most Americans if Robme wins. I hear Republicans equate hard work with wealth. Or those who are not wealthy is because the do not work hard enough.
If that was true, waitresses, store clerks, factory workers, nurses, teachers, mechanics, housekeepers and janitors and housewives and many more, would be on the top 20% sharing 93% of all the wealth instead of being in the bottom 80% sharing only 7% of the wealth.
Pilot Shark. If Mitt Romney becomes President he will put up auction signs and finally dismantle whats left of America. The Radical politicians and there attack on the middle class is drawing a line in the sand and the American people will only be pushed so far before they fight back. This great country has survived allot but the cancer of radical politicians will kill this great nation. I feel like I am in a country that is becoming Communist and controlling the people is the first thing that must happen.
Hard work? Romney doesn't know the meaning of the word!
Except for his period as Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt hasn't done a lick of work since the Salt Lake Olympics. Bain Capital sends him $20 million a year for doing nothing, and he thinks he deserves to pay NOTHING in taxes! He wants to make Capital Gains, and by extension, his own income, untaxable!
@pilot shark
In May of 1979 American Airlines had a horrible crash in Chicago's O'Hare airport after an investigation the FAA ruled it was because the airlines cut corners in an engine repair, the engine that fell off the plane during takeoff. Everyone on board was killed.
The CEO then a Mr. Robert Crandall SAVED the airline by insisting that every mechanic have his own personal number because he wanted to be informed the next time some 'jerk' wanted to 'cut corners'.
Crandall retired in 2000. The airline has not been the same since,
David M. Johnston::: But he does know the meaning of the word. Let's start out with WORK is a dirty four-letter word. WORK is against his religion. But WORK fascinates him-- he can sit and watch it for hours.
@David
Absolutely... and anyone who thinks it's okay NOT TO PAY TAXES AND TO OFF-SHORE HIS MONEY.... certainly isn't patriotic enough to be President of this country. Robme should really try running for President of the Cayman's.... so he can spend more time with his billions of $.
@Ethelouise
There was a story on one of the shows here, maybe Rachel's, about Gerard J. Arpey who retired as Chairman of AMR Corporation and American Airlines, Inc. in November 2011. His reason for leaving was that he had been voted down when he opposed the airline's decision to file for bankrutsy. He couldn't stay when he knew what was going to be done to the employees of the airline in the form of betrayal by the company.
In accord with everyone who commented before me! and I'll be one of those poor to boot!
With all he has said it is evident that he doesn't care about poor people...the ONLY people he is interested in is the very very very very rich...I can't imagine anyone being for him...
He has no idea that the very, very, poor out number the very, very, rich.
He will when the rioting by the millions of starving and poor starts.
Maybe we will finally be able to smell up his country club.
TM, thanks for telling me how to get to XXXOOO's link.
He wouldn't change the tax code except to lower upper tax rates, which will ensure him and the rich will stay where they are, andstop upper mobility for poor people.
According to the reports, Robme is so rich, he's actually in the .5%.
He is so rich he is a spec of dust on a hair of one of the . 05 % . . .
Hi all!
The last I read, he was in the top 0.01%.
Robme may be in even better shape than thought before......top 0.0025%
http://blogs.wsj.com/wealth/2012/01/24/mitt-romney-is-in-the-top-0-0025/
Newton LeRoy is in pretty good shape too, considering his spending habbits.
@John
Yeah... and everyone else will have to pay an extra $1000 in taxes to pay for those tax cuts for the super rich that Robme is planning.
DScully,
The Buffet rule will never pass. The Republicans, like Romney and Gingrich, believe the rich should pay LESS, not more! They can't possibly win on that platform!
Obama has the edge in many ways for 2012 I cannot believe what Romney said about the poor! There goes that vote!
Hi India
Oh yeah... I know the Repugs/TEApugs won't let the Buffet rule pass.... as long as they are in Congress and can obstruct it in the Senate. The only way this country will get an equal and fair tax code is to throw every single one of them out of office.
Hopefully they will keep annoying people with their union busting, right to work laws and stupid comments about corporations being people and not caring about the poor. The only chance the GOP has to win is to prevent most people from voting. Even middle class and poor Repubs are getting pissed off.
DScully. #8.6 It's what I call, "The tyranny of the minority". These T-party freshman in congress are a small minority of the American people, yet they are in charge of laws that affect the vast majority of Americans.
As long as these misinformed and misguided ideologues are in charge of the laws for this country, there is nothing Obama can do to get them to pass legislation that will be good for the country
If they were actual terrorists, they couldn't be doing more harm. We need to vote all of them out. If not, we'll see four more years of this gridlock and spitefulness. The economy will begin to deteriorate worse than we saw in 2008.
Everyone should read Aftershock!
Most certainly. How many depends on how much wealth Romney and friends will want to leave, after they extract what they want from our Economy.
All we need to look at is the policies Romney proposes. None of what he has stated as his intentions, should he be elected, favor the advancement of the poor or the security of the middle class ... (I don't use "promises" with candidates, it is an incorrect term ... NONE of them have the power to promise anything - except what they personally believe and will TRY to do)!
Romney is simply trying to steal Obama's heartfelt beliefs.... but without the heart and feeling part!
It's the Republicans MO. Make the rich, richer. Meanwhile, what happens to the rest of us? We're all still waiting for that "trickle"
Don't trickle on my head and tell me it's rain!
@Scott and TheRealChris and everyone
Hey.... I stumbled on this facebook page last night with an interesting video... a precursor to a documentary. It says what I've always thought.... take a look and see what you think. It's called "Are you better off?".... those ill-fated words of Ronnie Reagan... first Tax God of the GOP (Grover following as a close second Tax God) and anti-Christ in disguise.
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1386826763&ref=tn_tnmn
I have long thought that Ronnie Reagan and the GOP agenda were to bring about the downfall of our democratic society as formed by the founders of the Constitution, for the purpose of gaining all power and control for their own benefit and at the detriment, even the destruction of the freedom and opportunity for the majority of citizens.
By tearing down the democratic framework and American ideals, and replacing them with a fear of progress and individuality. This has systematically been done by the GOP through fear-mongering and turning what we most valued in the past such as individualism, social enlightenment and striving for higher accomplishment and knowledge into ideas that should be considered dangerous and shunned.
Ronnie Reagan might well have been an Anti-Christ and the GOP have raised him to the level of Godhood and worship the falsehood they have made of him.
Mitt's tax policy will ensure no upper mobility for middle class people, and his cuts in regulations will ensure the middle class will fall by the wayside and be poor.
Dumb question,YES !!!! Mitt Romney doesn't care for anyone that makes less than him.If you make more,than he MIGHT respect you if not hate you more because you have more money than him.Either way,he doesn't CARE for anyone but himself.
Romney will do what Republicans always do, make the rich, richer. Meanwhile the rest of us are still waiting for that "trickle" we're supposed to be so happy to get
Check out Jon Stewart's interview with Jonathan Macey from Jan 31 on the web.
This will indicate exactly what Mitt Romney and his cronies really care about - corporate raiding, bleeding money out of companies, outsourcing or elimination of the employees, screwing people for his benefit financially.........a real candidate to handle our country??
The US barely survived the Bush years, a Romney administration will do the country in.
Will totally destroy the country in a blink of an eye !!!!!!!!!!!
Ohhh!! nooo!!!
kutlass...
You wish! In the blink of an eye would be quick and painless. Mitt would make it long, cruel and painful.
Sometimes, euthanasia has its merits... At least, compared to torture...
@David
Yeah... it will be long, cruel and painful.... like the long, cruel and painful ride his poor dog Shamus took on the roof of the car.

I'm thinking of starting a site for catsagainstromney... for my politically minded kitties. After all, Robme must have mistreated a cat somewhere along the way.
DScully, My cat is against Romney. He tosses a hairball when the name is mentioned! LOL
On the serious side, if Romney wins, (Which he probably won't) his tax plan will benefit the wealthy, hurt the poor, and raise the deficit by 900 Billion a year. His plan to raise defence spending will further blow up an already overblown defence budget. That will raise the deficit further. He will repeal Obama's health care program, pushing thousands of children off their parent's plan, keeping people with pre-existing conditions without insurance, and hurting seniors. Health care costs will soar to new levels.
He will de-fund Planned Parenthood, keeping many thousands of women from screening for breast cancer, and he will pay for this by eliminating decades of helpful entitlement programs, (Which are not increasing the deficit to start with). We will be praying for a swift end to this nightmare, but it will be, as you said, long and painful and very cruel. It will no longer be a country we recognize.
There will be MANY more poor people under the GOP's uncaring policies.
@India
Those are all great reasons why Robme can't be and won't be elected, as long as the 99% and women have anything to say about it. He has made out and out threats to attack the poor, middle class and women.
My cats all hate Robme, Newt, Santorum and all the Repug/TEApug creeps in Congress.
The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities has scored Romney's budget, and it will gut the social safety net.
I think Mitt Romney has an applause meter connected to his brain. If anyone wants to know where Romney stands on an issue, they will have to wait until after he ?wins? the election and then find out what he will do. Romney will tell a viewing audience anything they want to hear.
I advise that you invest in a set of CHEST WADERS due to the fact that the $hit's going to get deep if he wins.
Chest waders?? I think we would need scuba gear!
Richard MIC::: I didn't think that applause meters were located down there! You said "connected to his brain" and there is no brain between his ears.
Romney has no clue what poor means, but his rich buddies will thrive.
Texas Jodinu are so right about Willard. America please don't make a mistake and elect Willard Romney as our president. We will be soooooo sorry.
Romey has no clue what being human means . . . he LIVES OFF OF America. . . how could he ever relate with ANY people who LIVE IN America ? . . .
barbara & MsT You can count on this Texan to vote for President Obama. Still very ashamed about George Bush. :-)
Texas, every one is ashamed of gw, except gw.
Ha! Good one.
Bush said he doesn't miss being president, but he misses being Commander in Chief.
Which means he doesn't miss running the country, he just misses playing soldier.
Chris you mean he doesn't miss ruining the country
@Texas Jodi . . . you are so right !
@ Real Chris . . . GW doesn't miss running this country down maybe . . . Have you noticed . . . no one in the media . . . even Fux Noise . . .talk about GW Bush ?
T Mom, I hang my head in shame at the thought of ole shrub.
LOL . . . Texax Jodi . . . hehehehe
@Texas Jodi
I lived in Texas for 15 years Dallas to be precise, I knew how bad this guy was at gov and read how he was AWOL during the Veitnam conflict. I moved to California in 1999 I tried to warn people they did not listen. I too am ashamed that everyone belived his lies.
Not only that but, the damage he did we still cannot undo. What a nasty piece of work.
Danimal-3-
Kudos.
Well it's just about that time again for me to head to my local Dem office to get my Obama signs to place in my front yard even tho three times last election I had them destroyed by my teabagger neighbors. Not worrying about it this time as I plan on rescuing the biggest, meanest one eyed and neutered pit bull I can find at the city pound and tie him to those signs.
You're going to rescue a Republican?
Yeap, John, I had my big signs as well. The school bus stop is on my corner. Funny thing. I had this NY women Democrat who lived in the neighborhood. She saw my signs and came to visit and to find out where I got them. Then one afternoon she noticed they were missing and hunted down the two young teenage boys who took them. They showed up at my door, with this hangdog look and two new signs. They saw me and though maybe they had the wrong house. (I guess she made an impression on them) I took it easy on them, laughted about it. They didn't seem to know why they took them. It was just the teen age boy thing to do. .....I still have the signs......Boys were un harmed by me. I don't know what she did to them, or how she found them.
Yes I will Chris, and plan on naming him 'Limpballs'.
Thankful Mom, my neighbors are all adults but they have the intellect of a teenager.
@Texas, Jodi and TMom
Yeah... how many of us were shamed to admit we were American's during GW Moron's reign? What an embarrassment.
True words DScully
@TheRealChris
Now when exactly did GW Moron ever play soldier, ie. going into battle and being shot at? NEVER! In fact when he had the opportunity to actually go to a war... Vietnam, and fight for his country, he took a powder and enlisted in the Air National Guard.
I think he just misses starting wars and collecting the fanfare from his bullish supporters.
@Danimal
Actually.... GW doesn't miss running the country into the economic hole so deep, that we are only starting to recover from it 3 years later..... thanks to President Obama and no thanks to the GOP, Greedy Obstructionist Party.
@John
Good for you.... and rescuing an animal in need of a home too!
enlisted in the Air National Guard.
and when almost all of the pilots in that unit volunteered for Viet Nam not the AWOL bush he said no way.
If corporations are people, Mitt Romney is a cannibal. Mitt Romney has zero understanding of the middle class because he has no idea what's like to be middle class, he's been rich all his life and I say rich beyond your wildest dreams. How can a person who can't relate even begin to understand a major problem?
Mitt Romney will do what he's done all his life, benefit the rich, that's all he knows. God help the working man if Mitt Romney becomes president!
OPEN RANGE - The working man will become his SLAVE.If he makes me a slave,i'll do my best to kill him.
Open Range I so agree with you. Mitt Romney has probably never walked in homeless comunity. Has never seen a family survive the winter in tent. He has never talked to the 1.6 million homeless children in America. I wanted to slap the man when he said let the housing market fall. How out of touch and heartless can one very wealthy man be? The middle class is sliding off the decks of the Tiantic into poverty. Many of these people have college degrees, there veterans and they are from all walks of life young and old. Being poor in America is the only non discriminating thing going. Mitt Romney is beyond clueless. He can"t walk that comment back and everybody in America needs to remind him of it, He profited from making the middle class POOR!!!!!!
That's exactly right Pam, that's how he made his millions. I guess if that's legal then good for him, but you can't have such a selfish attitude and then ask people to trust you with the Office of the President.
A corporate vulture doesn't belong in the White House!
Ted, I do understand the rage but next time make it clear it's a joke, the statement was too harsh IMHO.
Open range can there be such word as wealthy abuse? This man made it unbelievably hard so many lost everyting and have never recovered. And then he says what he dose. If that's not abuse I do not know what else you would call it. My good lord people have died due to they just could not handle it anymore. There has been alcohol abuse and drug abuse and suicide. He was responsible for this .
I don't know if that's abuse, but to me it's greed and selfishness. Do what you want for your benefit and to hell with the consequences. To me that's not the attitude of a President, and it adds to his disconnect from the real world. He just doesn't give a damn about anybody else but himself!
Ted...
Seriously, Open Range is right. Threats against persons' lives falls under Code of Honour #1...
Word to the wise?
You can think it-you just can't say it.
You have to admit that Shrub did accomplish something. When the jet landed on the carrier and he got out and climbed down to the deck, he did not fall on his face (like I expected him to).
I have claimed Texas as home since August 1948-- tho Uncle Sam had other plans for me. I remember Ann Richards and how good she was for Texas. Then came Shrub and Texas went to H311 in a handbasket. Then along comes Rickless Perry, Shrub's flunkie, and the state has gone further to H311.
@Pam
No... Mitt Robme doesn't know anything about the homeless, has probably never had any contact with the homeless. Almost 10 years ago, when I was teaching... one of my extra jobs was to tutor children living in homeless shelters.
Everyday I met with them in a small room at the shelter after school to help them with their homework and tutor them in any subjects giving them trouble. When homework was done, I read them stories or played games with them.
In fact I even met with the children living with their mother's in a battered women's shelter. It was all very secretive and I wasn't allowed to talk about the location of the shelter or anything. These were precautions taken to make sure the abusive partners didn't find out where it was, as some of these women's lives depended on it.
@Susie
Gee.... all your talk of the "Shrub and Rickless Perry" has reminded me of a song I modified in their honor.
It's the song I wrote in honor of GW Moron & Rick-diculous Perry back when he was riding high in the TEAbagger nut parade a few months ago. Here it is:
My song about Bush and Perry (sung to "Cousins" tune, theme of Patty Duke show)
Meet Georgie Bush who's lived most everywhere, from Crawford, TX to White House flair.
But Perry's only seen the sights a boy can see from Austin heights-- What a crazy pair!
But they're Texans, Identical Texans all the way.
A pair of matching cow pies, not much difference from night to day.
Where Bush adores to clear the brush, cut millionaires' taxes, and start wars you bet,
Rick Perry loves to brag and boast, yet has less brains than a gnat at most, while a black President makes him lose control -- What a wild duet!
Still, they're Texans, Simpleton Texans and you'll find,
They look alike, they walk alike, At times they even talk alike --
We will have lost our minds, if another Texan wins the Washington fight!
SCully, Bless you for that. It takes a special person to do what you did. Its so sad our nation has so much of homeless and abuse.
