Repubs since day 1 of President Obama in the office have said that they want to make him a one time president. It is shame that a party of Mr Regan have lost their vision for the country and are continuously trying to disrupt any progress. We should have a law to punish such people.
Republicons care about money and power.
The middle class do not have much money or power.

The Brewer lady may be mad because she is benefiting from immoral policies. AZ has a private prison system on which the prison corporation gets tax payer money for each prisoner. (so the more prisoners the more it gets) and then they use their prisoners as slave labor in manufacturing. Showing only a few who had really benefited while there are companies whose whole labor force are prisoners. It is all about their profits instead of rehabilitation. She is probably getting kickbacks. I know someone who is a worker in one of the prisons.

What is needed is for Michael Moore to find a way of engaging Patricia (Patty) Hearst to co-create a set of educational political commercials comparing the Mitch McConnell pogrom to that of what she experienced at the hands of the Symbianese Liberation Army!

Here is one aspect of the "Defeat the President" G.O.P. implosion.
Human beings represent multiple dimensions of economic value.
Unions increase human capitol by forcing companies to obey labor laws, which means that experienced employees are normally retrained into new jobs in the same company when business changes in order to avoid bankruptcy.
10 years of experience in an intellectual profession is generally recognized to be equivalent to a bachelors degree worth of knowledge acquisition.
Growing experience adds value to unionized companies, which is why most large companies are unionized.
And the G.O.P. is using "Right to Work" laws to encourage companies to fire all the employees to save money as soon as any managers make a mistake that harms the business to avoid bankruptcy instead of working on a responsible solution.
The G.O.P. wants to "protect those jobs" by kicking out all of the Mexicans that pick fruit and vegetables in 110 degree weather - which US citizens will not do - and that created abandoned real estate as far as the eye can see.
That irrational thinking is why China and Germany are kicking out economic a$$.

Given that I lived in San Jose, which is not that far from Berkeley, info about Patty's background and family history plastered the newspapers for weeks afterwards, info & rumors about the SLA subsequently did the same.
With Patty subsequently getting married to someone involved with law enforcement about the time she got out of prison, one might be tempted to assume that Patty threw off the shackles from the syndrome, as the news did report. However, I'm a bit skeptical about what was reported because Patty was also somewhat likely engaged in gaming the system with the intent of being released from prison sooner rather than later. And, ameliorating the effects of the syndrome would be entirely independent of recanting the counter-culture affectation - given that the most prominent part of the "counter-culture affectation" that would have been relevant for her would have been the meaninglessness of her parents being 1%ers and even more so with the people her parents would have (presumably) socialized with. [That rejection of her parent's 1% world would have made sympathizing with her captors much easier, as well.]

I find it quite ironic, and very cynical on Mitch Daniels' part, that in his rebuttal to the SoTU, that Daniel's was apparently compelled by the GOP Ideology to blame Obama's "policies" for the Middle Class bearing the brunt of the burden.
Regardless, the Republican who is able to be honest enough to recognize that it's the Economic Blueprint of their idol, Reagan, [who they dare to compare themselves with, yet would consider a current-day Reagan running for the GOP nomination for President as far too liberal to support, much less be considered as anything more than a RINO], namely what his successor, George Herbert Walker Bush had referred to as Voodoo Economics while running against Reagan for the nomination rather consistently, until he (GHWB) was selected by Reagan to VP, which was bribe enough to induce him to lose his mind and aver that "it makes sense now."
Unfortunately for all of us, including those who most benefited from that Voodoo, which was still part of Reagan's Economic plan, regardless of GHWB's changed belief, the Devil that was in the details has really manifested itself in the damage done to the Global Economy due to the intrinsic inequities in the plan which led to the speed of the transfer of wealth to the richest Americans to go into overdrive.
At any rate, if Daniels had been brutally honest with himself, he would have recognized that it was Reagan's economic policies, which all of his successors did nothing to stop (Clinton managed to cause a slow down in the process at best, but repeal of Glass-Steagall overwhelmingly undid that), and Greenspan was there to ensure the process continued - essentially unimpeded - for the unjustifiable trust he had that the Market would properly self-regulate for the betterment of mankind.

Obama has thankfully recognized the truth by the Occupation of the 99% (#OWS), but unless he is reelected and enough members of Congress who've been hoodwinked by the 1% are replaced by those who've seen the light, even ameliorating the damage done by a process that was stipulated to cause Trickle-Down but factually caused a Flood-Up will not be possible. During the 40s and through the 70s there were hard times for minorities in this country. There were always but I witness just the 50s through 60s and from then on. When ever a store or business would hire an African American or a minority, that business was boycotted by the white community. Sometimes that involved beatings, hangings and false accusations of a criminal nature. That was the way a small group of people instilled fear in the community. Most people to avoid controversy and harm, would stay away from that business. And the business was taught a lesson.
So Republicans are trying to perpetuate the system of teaching Americans a lesson. If we vote a black man into the WH we will pay for it. That is why Obama's presidency has been so controversial. Things that other presidents have done have been accepted but the same proposals by Obama have not. Their true colors are coming out. I think they do not realize it and their base who are members of minorities are too brainwashed into thinking they are accepted they don't even want to believe it. Actually I think their cripes are only against blacks.

if you live north there was a massive solar flare that hit yesterday disrupting all communication. We are still in the dark ages when it comes to that stuff it shows how vulnerable we are. Not worry it will pass and be back to normal.
i had problems last night too you guys...first i got messages that the sight was down, but since i'm hard-headed i kept trying and finally got on as well, but after every post i was redirected to that possible spam security page where i had to enter those ridiculous looking characters to submit each post!!!

The truly farcical 'Jobs Through Growth Act'

I suppose Senate Republicans deserve at least some credit for making an effort. The congressional GOP has largely ignored the jobs crisis, so the fact that Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) have put together the "Jobs Through Growth Act," is at least marginally constructive.
The problem is with the "plan" itself.
What do Senate Republicans want to do to give employment a boost? Cut taxes, approve a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution, eliminate the entirety of the Affordable Care Act, eliminate the entirety of Wall Street reform safeguards, blocking EPA enforcement of clean air measures, and a tax repatriation holiday for international corporations.
When President Obama unveiled the American Jobs Act, it had been deliberately crafted to include several provisions that Republicans have traditionally supported. Graham, McCain, and Paul didn't bother. Try not to be surprised.
The GOP senators boasted their plan would create 5 million jobs. And how would that happen? Who came up with that number? How would Republicans pay for their plan? How quickly would it make a difference?
They didn't say. In fact, unlike the detailed jobs bill presented by the White House, the "plan" from Senate Republicans is a wish list of far-right ideas, but it's also lacking in the sort of substantive details that serious proposals require.

Mitch McConnell, the minority leader in the senate, stated that "Their first priority was making sure Obama was a one-term president." and they do not care if they have to destroy the country to do it.

You know what gets me is how the Repugs say President Obama policies have failed. What policy has failed? The Repugs have blocked all of his policies so how can they say his policy have failed if they have not allowed any of his policy to be implemented. There are no factual evidence of such failure. I get sooo pissed when they think b/c we are middle class that we are dumb and only people with money are intelligent.

I heard this evening that some of the dem reps, I think it was in Missouri? There were stickers with crosshairs on them on the doors of their offices. I am awfully afraid that things are going to get bad this election cycle. I hope to goodness that I am wrong, but the hatred is just so rampant in the republican party.

@ Nanette Sounds like something "poor white trash" would do. Which brings up another sore subject. Why would anyone making less than 250,000.00 belong to the Republican party? I think that is why the Republican leadership tries to treat us like we are idiots because they are used to dealing with the members of their own political party, because a majority of the people who belong to the republican party are not served by their party, which means they are either very easily manipulated or easily bamboozled. I know a lot of people who used to be republicans that woke up towards the end of the bush presidency, who voted for obama the last time who are now ready to vote him out of office because they are buying the republican press machine that obama's policies have failed. Yet they claim to still be independents.
To be honest, the republican party scares me. Not just their policies, but their deep hatred that they don't even try to hide. I think that many of the more weak minded people in that party is capable of doing bodily harm to people that don't agree with them, and the likes of Fox New, Rush and the rest of the right wing talkers egg them on. Im 70 when i was in my 20's Kennedy, 2 of them King, George Wallace, and many others were shot at or killed in the streets. This was going on before my time in the depression era. As a people we are pretty passionate and sometimes a crazy few are violent but for the most part we just yell. Do not be fearful today is no different than yesterday and the yelling is what keeps us free. That being said feel free to yell at me. I promise not to do anything but yell back. It was during my time that the left blew up national guard depots, college buildings, they were proud to say things like off the pigs (cops) nutz are nutz no matter which side they are on.
