Obama.

Amen!
My amen was to the comment by TheRealChris, not to the Ron Paul comment.
well Nasty Newt can do well in SC as that kind of stuff works well. I just hope he continues his temper tantrum.
nothing like a Newt scorner.
Newts got a new money backer; Adelson from Las Vegas. A big rich Casino owner. He wants to buy the election for pig newton. Glad to Huntsman did so well in his first time out.....I predict that will improve.
yes one of them is the Venetian.
OMG. It's going to be a loooong year, having to listen to these nasty, lying Reps. Especially tearing down the Prez and every good thing he's done, all the while acting like Obama's the one that got us into this mess and wasn't stopped at every turn by the Reps in the House and Senate. They have gall up to their eyeballs! I'll just be glad when Nov. gets here and we can get rid of the Repugnants.
I stocked up on the Zantac 180!
Seriously, I think it'll be either Newt or Santorum, but I think Newt has a bigger chance, he's got new cash and that ad he'll be releasing on SC telling the TRUTH about Romney and his vulture capitalism.
Im there with ya, MJB. Listening to these "candidates" talk makes me sick to my stomach. Romney is a fool who will get our country into big trouble, Paul is just plain crazy. They all have such hatred in their hearts and minds, it will amount to nothing but hurt for our country. If people think Bush did a bad job, which he did, anyone of these candidates is going to finish the job and set our country back to a position we cant recover from. One thing I find so disgusting about Ron Paul is that he is for liberty apparently except when it comes to women's rights. He's on board with the notion that birth control should be illegal? WTH? Any woman voting for Ron Paul either hasnt researched what he's really all about or they are just fools. The only Republican candidate that seems to have somewhat of a heart is Huntsman but somehow because the man served as Ambassador under Obama and has adopted children from China and India makes him unelectable in the Republicans eyes. As if an Ambassador position has any control over what any Administration does...its just pure lunacy.
I love how they want to ban abortion and birth control, so you have to have the baby. If you need help to feed it because you and your husband lost your outsourced jobs, too bad! No food stamps or any safety nets. It's going to be a wonderful life for a lot people! But I can't imagine that many people could be that stupid to let any one of these jokers get elected.
Telling you what you can do in your bedroom, that's what they call small government! Passing measures so radical they failed in Mississippi, that's what they call small government, that's what Willard is for.
Willard is a sissy fraud, nothing more!
Well and this making birth control illegal would also affect married couples who have either had all the children they want to have or maybe choose not to have any. Or if it doesnt, does that mean they would apply this law to only single people? And yet they dont want government in their faces? Seems to me thats government in peoples faces. The very thing Ron Paul rants about. The man is pure nuts and has no business even being allowed to run for President let alone Congress. The young people that are flocking behind him better get a clue about what he really stands for because it aint their freedom. They want cheaper student loans? Good luck even getting a student loan if Ron Paul was to win. His philosophy is you are on your own. Its pretty funny that he rails so against government but yet he has been in government getting paid with our tax dollars (yes, government money) since 1976. Isnt it funny how the very people that complain about government are the elected officials who have been getting their pockets lined with the very money they think should go to no one else. I wonder if Paul would be willing to pass on part of his paycheck in the spirit of getting off the government payroll. Isnt he just as dependent on that money as he rails against other people for?
And never mind that he has yet to provide an explanation for the newsletter he put out with his name on it trashing blacks. The guy is a closet racist and he may be able to hide it right now but the truth will come out. He and his son are no different that white supremecists in my view.
I hope people were listening carefully to what Romney said in his speech- he is going after Social Security.
He will, with the help of a Tea Pary gang, take 'our' funds we have put into Social Security and put it into the stock market. who will make money off of it, he and his cronies!
Unbelievable that republicans have made social security, a much needed and worthy safety net, purchased by workers another corporation to raid!
Serious business -President Obama is not perfect - we aren't, but he is 100000000000% times better for America than Romney or any-other republican.
Obama/Biden 2012
Stop the Hillary mess please, she will be the democratic nomination for President In 2016
This is a repost of mine from another blog:
The Democrats wanted Romney to get the nomination because he is the perfect symbol of everything that's wrong with corporate America. He stands for all the greed and selfishness that's wrecked this country. He makes a sharp contrast with Obama who's fighting for the middle class, which will make the choice between them extremely clear.
After all, Romney's got 1%, Obama's got 99%.
And the Republicans are cooperating with this strategy.
We should thank them.
Vote Willard!
Romney is saying vulture capitalism is just free enterprise. This is like saying the WBC and their "God hates..." is just people talking.
There's a difference between american values and just doing stuff that's barely allowed by law. As a guy running for president, Romney should know that.
He's just a sorry sissy trying to act like the man he'll never be!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_IAqwrvEuU == Champions== Bing-bing !!!!!
Also, the word "people"… Romney keeps using the word "people" when he is talking about corporations. If it is true that 85% on a poll opposed "Citizens United", then we need to point this out with Romney. It rolls off his tongue that corporations are PEOPLE.
The 99% folks need to remember that when they vote. The next President may well nominate a Justice for SCOTUS and do we want another "corporations are people" Justice?
Worse yet, do we want a Corporation, like a law firm, nominated to the Supreme Court?
If corporations are people, how about "Walmart for President!"
I'll believe corporations are people when Texas executes one.
?? If taxes are reduced for a business and no more goods or services are sold how many workers will be hired??
0.
yup.
Romney is as fraudulent as the Tea Party. The Tea Party, a group started by a millionaire CNBC guy who was yelling in front of other millionaire bankers it was ok to bail out the banks but not the "poor guy who can't afford a mortgage to pay for a house with an extra bathroom".... And they call themselves a movement for the people?
Hold on, did you think the Tea Party was a popular movement? Sure, the GOP listening to the people? This explains why the GOP was so happy to use the Tea Party, a SCAM OF THEIR OWN, to go after a president who wanted to help the middle class. They sure welcomed gun rights and religious fanatics into the movement, but it was a fraud to perpetrate their agenda, to stop the Government from actually helping people!
The Tea Party is a scam by millionaires to get back to business as usual, just like Willard.
The tea party was a movement designed by millionaires to stop Obama's agenda, deceiving low information voters into joining under the excuse of gun rights or religion or God knows what else. But the objective was clear, to go back to business as usual.
Why you explain the Tea Party is now a shadow of what it was just a little over a year ago?
This is why the GOP promotes cutting education and enhancing tax cuts for the rich, it's all they care about, as long as the ignorant can be easily played, the rest is a cake walk!
There's a video on this and God knows I'll post it, it's time to call things what they are, I for one Im tired to see the American people being played for fools by millionaires and their corporations. Greed has no place in Government!
The TP is a grassroots movement (not designed by anyone), spurred on by Obama's continuation of Bush's wasteful spending on failed (especially the "stimulus") programs.
It's objective is to stop wasteful spending and bloated government. Any other agenda may arise from individuals within the movement, but are not part of the focused objective of over-taxation by a over-sized government.
Unlike the OWS, they accomplished their mission and went back to work. They will reappear as needed, but most TPers have a real life and obligations that do not allow them to "camp out" for media attention.
They are people like me that don't live on the news channels, but want sanity (and I agree with you OR, not greed) back in government, and will vote when needed.
The Tea Party has ZERO to do with grass roots.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftNN4J4qZwg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UiLZk2TE8k&feature=relmfu
The tea party is a fraud designed to make the ignorant believe in a status quo that's only beneficial to the 1%, under the false pretense of patriotism.
Open == Sweet !!! Thanx !!!!!
Grass roots my foot. I don't consider Dick Army and his group funding this group plus Fox News promoting it and stirring the pot grass roots at all.
Cute OR, but Thom Hartmann is a progressive liberal that wants government to continue handing out trillions to the detriment of our country.
Our country prospered with the Reagan revolution, and will be able to prosper again, once we remove the liberal progressives that want to spend us into oblivion.
The clips did bring up "Citizens United", a great decision that has made it possible to confront union power with money from the companies unions were destroying (GM come to mind).
The Tea Party is a grassroots movement, Thom and his buddies only wish the OWS could be the same. They aren't . As a TPer, I want more freedom from government control. I want to eat, smoke and drive what I want without government control.
I am for abortion on demand; the government has no business in my bedroom, living room, or garage. OR, don't believe everything you see on the web.
The TPers I've met are primarily older, successful citizens that want government to be around for our grand-kids to live the same American Dream we enjoyed. The
Dems want to destroy our Social Security by ignoring current demographics. Their heartless quest for power is bankrupting this country!
The TP is NOT a grass roots organization in any sense of the word. It was funded by Dick Army and Fox News got their listeners into a frenzy and stirred the pot to get it going. To say that it is a grass roots organization is very much more than just stretching the truth. Bussing people to disrupt democratic events all over the place had to be paid for by someone, and Dick Army had a huge hand in it. That is not grass roots. Please stop the grass roots fallacy.
Thanks for sharing, Nanette. As one of the TPers who has been to several rallies, my personal experience dictates otherwise. They are uplifting, positive rallies that make you proud to be an American!
What makes you think otherwise? Do you think the current level of government spending is reasonable? Billions given to new technologies and stimuli programs that don't work? Undercutting SS with these temporary "tax cuts"?
I appreciate big corporate contributors, we have taken collections to offset some expenses at some of our local events. Just common people trying to make a difference and make our voices heard.
Capt, I am going to have to say baloney!
Nanette
Baloney BS TGOP style
Thanks, you guys are funny! Just remember the TPers are still here, the legislators sure know it!
I wonder if they care about the OWS. Guess we will see at the next election. God, this is fun!
Only if you consider lying fun.
Nanette- what has the Capt said that you found innacurate at a Tea Party event? You seem to know quite a bit about them, so I'm assuming you went and saw what they were about.
I have never been to a TP event but I have read and saw enough to know that it is NOT grass roots.
Yeah- I didn't think you had been to one after reading your responses. The Left has to be just as careful about getting news and info from MSNBC as the Right does from Fox.
I think the T.P. supporters just want to be heard and have a feeling that they are not alone. I feel sorry for some of those that do not see that they are coopted by Koch bros. and other corps that are eyeball deep in the corruption that blame only on government.
I do think there is a deep desire to believe that they will prosper if they cut taxes and government. The trouble is, the consumer demand drives economy and jobs… but they keep strangling the workers with rising prices of almost EVERYTHING and lowering wages.
The ALEC unholy alliance of corps and government that makes it even worse for working folks in the U.S..
http://www.alecexposed.org/wiki/ALEC_Exposed
Mergers and Outsourcing jobs was/is viewed as a good reason to buy stock in a company, which is what began in Reagan days. I remember hostile takeovers… that's where Mitt put his hands to earn even more millions.
Here they go again, the republican's want smaller government right?? well they now want to ban birth comtrol pills, if that's not big government talk I'd like to know what is.. These people are bible thumping, get in your personal business crazy people, makes me wonder what they will want to do next? make sure all teenage girls wear chasity belts?? They are sickening and damn well scary..
lori,
the repubs want no regulation in regard to business, in regard to money.
they LOVE gov't regulations on birth control, abortion, on civil rights for gays and other minorities.
they LOVE regulations on voting.
They don't want that, it's a fraud! Smaller government when they try to tell you what kind of birth control you can use, when they judge based on your sexual orientation or skin color, when they regulate what you can watch on tv....
Small government when it comes to regulations that affect THEM, that's the small government they want, so they can keep on being racists and exploiting people and bleeding them dry.
Romney helped to take over and downsize companies at huge profits for himself. He put himself first - it was all about him making money at other people's expense. I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of his "capitalism of profits."
I worked for a large corporation that bought out one company, then merged with another company and finally merged with a third company. With each buyout or merger, all employees had to reapply for their jobs, which meant writing a resume and being interviewed multiple times. Then the company would pick and choose the people they wanted to keep and downsize the rest of the employees to maximize profits. The first people that were downsized were people 50 yrs of age or older and all women with small children. They accomplished this by giving this group of people responsibilities that were impossible to fulfill. Some had so much overnight travel that they couldn't handle the job. These people were terminated because they either missed too much work or didn't complete all of their responsibilities, so their job performance evaluations were poor. By the time our corporation was finished with the buyout/mergers and downsizing the sales force, those of us left were doing the job of 9 people. We had to work 60-80 hours a week, including weekends. Since we were sales people, we were not eligible to be paid overtime. Two of my colleagues had heart attacks. One had a stroke and died at an airport. The remainder of the employees started to suffer from ill health and marriage problems. Employee morale was at an all time low, but profits were higher than they had ever been. A competitor offered to buy out our company and we were sold off at a huge profit. And the cycle continues...
With each buyout/merger, a large number of people lost their jobs. However, the company would always say, "we are creating new jobs." Yes, they "created" new jobs with more responsibilities, but they lost more jobs than they ever created.
The Anti Romney candidate is Obama. Voters will have a choice between the most failed President in history and a successful business person who also made the Olympics successful.
GWB isn't running. Funny how you righties are always giving Obama credit for GOP deeds. Whats the matter are you ashamed of the GOP record, well you should be ashamed, the GOP have shown themselves as the party of dead beats who refuse to pay their bills. To bad we can't garnishee the GOP wages and force them to pay back the money they borrowed and spent.
Funny because a lot of what happened with this economy is the consequence of what GWB did. And the GOP answer? Stop talking about it and let's go back to the same policies that destroyed the economy.
That is the definition of insanity!
Even funnier is they claim Obama is the most liberal president in history yet all Obama has done is pass watered down versions of GOP bills because the GOP obstructed everything Obama asked for.
Obama is the anti-Romney. Actually, Obama is more anti-Santorum, but Romney will put up a STARK contrast to OT Obama. Romney will showcase his leadership skils vs. the lack of Obama's leadership. he'll showcase his apptitude for financial success vs. Obama's failed financial plans. Romney will showcase the attractiveness of free markets vs. Obama's desires to promote progressivism and European-style socialism. The choice will be clear and the differences will be stark.
Very well said.
The blind leading the blind.
We need a candidate that encompasses the best of all.
Obama has a distinct right wing terrorism policy- that of targeting and plugging the bad guys on an individual basis- but he doesn't have a clue as to the economy.
Others may have more insight to the economy, but why they don't embrace the Obama Doctrine as above on terrorism, I've yet to figure out. We should be able to work both sides and have a candidate who is willing to step out and eliminate known enemies while enabling the economy to succeed.
Neither side has such a candidate.
Obama's problem was that he didn't see it coming. That's all. He didn't think the GOP would oppose measures they supported in the past just to sabotage the economy, he tried to negotiate when he should have gone at it with an iron fist, that's what MANDATE implies and he won with a firm MANDATE.
I blame him for that.
But I also recognize Obama is now acting firmly, as he should have from day one.
In any event, a corporate raider like Romney doesn't have the moral standing or the experience to talk about job creation when all he's done is destroy and dismantle corporations for profit.
When I saw Wall St, the movie, back in the 80s I didn't think there was a person in real life like Gordon Gekko, completely dominated by greed, until I learned about Mitt Romney. Romney is the real life Gordon Gekko, he IS the corporate raider, he IS greed himself.
Let's see, who's helped more people get jobs. Romney or Obama! Think about it. Obama's policies have destroyed at least 5 million jobs; Romney's companies have employed thousands. He has made millions in the process!
What has Obama done! Organized protests? We don't know, his past is hidden.
Romney has negotiated with world leaders to produce a successful Olympics! Questions? Carry on.
Obama's policies have destroyed at least 5 million jobs;
care to show any facts to that.
carry on you bet we will carry on right up until 2016 when we vote in another President to continue bringing back the America We The People know so well.
LOL
Ok I will carry on. Romney came in and laid off thousands of people, he raided their retirement funds leaving the people totally out in the cold while dismantling and selling off the businesses. Where do you think he got all that money? It may have been legal but it sure wasn't ethical. How many jobs did he allegedly create compared to the ones he destroyed? Got numbers and sources? He got rich off of the destruction and misery of so many people. Is that what you want as president? I sure don't! And I sure don't give a rat's behind behind the Olympics! Never have and never will.
PS history according to cap, putting native Americans on reservations caused the Native Americans to become lazy free loaders living off the fat of the land. He claims welfare creates the same problem with black folks which fits right in with his racist views. But capt believes he isn't racist, he is just really concerned that government programs stop minorities from seeking to better themselves, just so long as the minorities do the jobs white people are above doing. Wink wink nudge nudge.
Pilot: current employment figures, show 5 million less working Americans that when Obama took office.
Nanette, what stats show Romney was involved in what layoffs. CEO's make money by making companies successful. Corporate raiding does go on, and is wrong! But what proof do you have that Romney was involved in any corporate raiding. As you said "got numbers and sources?".
I only mention the Olympics to show his international experience and success, more than Obama had or has to date.
whom: try to stick to the conversation at hand. My concern for the Native Americans stands, as well as those welfare recipients (why bring race into this?). I care about people, no matter the color. Don't you?
LOL delusional. You care about people, that is a laugh when post after post you blame welfare instead of corporations for the lack of people being able to find living wage jobs. That you just cleaned up Reagans welfare queen lie with a shiny new paint job, we know that all you are really saying is government programs trap people because people get lazy when they aren't starving to death on the street. And by people we also know which people you are alluding to because of other beliefs that you have posted such as pregnant black teen mothers and wasted tax dollars.
Oh and your lack of understanding of Native Americans and reservations is also rather telling of your lack of being able to understand the plight of minorities.
whom: I am just speaking from my own experience, I know my childhood was harder without welfare, but I like who I am and don't believe I would be that way if mom and I went on the AFDC rolls.
I have never posted anything about "pregnant black teen mothers", where do you get this stuff? I remember Reagan's success with reducing the welfare rolls.
I understand Dems desire to keep the Native Americans on reservations as well as minimum wage laws. I have an excellent understanding of minorities, I thought you did too. :-)
What do you mean reducing welfare rolls by 1988 welfare rolls had increased by 7 million families, just how is that a reduction? No you blame a program that feeds and houses people who are unable to find work for corporations not hiring. Still that old Reagan welfare lie. There were no generations of welfare recipients. That you claim that reservations and welfare trap people in poverty just shows how much you understand of either. People do not use either unless they are offered no other choice, there are no people that say screw work I'm quitting my job to go on welfare.
On the economy, it is irrelevant what anyone has done in the past. No one knows what policies Romney or other GOP will adopt. We can only assume they will take business friendly approaches. Based upon the last thre years, we can only assume that Obama will continue to be fairly unfriendly to business, and of course, investors in general. Policies that tend to divert capital from being invested in production.
But, if you want to digress into the goofy arguments regarding what a business person does in running an investment firm, and supposedly will transfer said behavior to governing- what the heck did Obama do with GM, et al. Didn't he do a Bain? Didn't Obama take over a troubled entity? Didn't he analyze it for efficiencies. Didn't GM off-load its legacy costs to the UAW? Do you remember the shuttering of all the GM dealerships? The elimination of Saturn, Pontiac, etc. Divestiture of many other lines? How many thousands of jobs were sacrificed to save what economic value, including jobs, could be saved? Didn't Obama basically do exactly what Dems accuse Romney of doing? I thought so... But let's get back to the future and shutter nonsense like this.
Tripe.
Olympics!
isn't Utah still trying to pay that off. I know it when off, but it lose lots of money.
LOL another great job by a Mitt. how to win friends while loosen money.
Olympic experience, then go run for the IOC.
Romney is a crook and a corporate raider, the last thing this country needs.
ROGER THAT!!!!!
No pilot, all the money spent in preparation was made back in ticket sales and corporate sponsorships. I used several of the beautiful facilities built and paid for by the games, without taxpayers money! Great facilities, go enjoy them for yourself!
Some are a little pricey, $200 each (min 3) to ride a bobsled on the Olympic course (apx 1 minute ride). Hey, if you got the money, why not?
Ed relayed some valuable information on MSNBC's N.H. Primary coverage by reading an interview from Conservative Senator J. DeMint from the next primary state. On Mark Levine's air conservative talkers and pundits will just fall in lilne and say that Romney is the defender of capitalism. They're not known for having really good ideas, but loud and constant repitition can work wonders.
