I wish you a Merry Christmas......To those of us who live to fight another day.
Petty republicans.....pick on Obama's Christmas card while the tacky fox card gloats.....Where is their Jesus....Showing their listeners as sheeeeeep, Baaaaa
Petty republicans......pick on Obama because he did some quick shopping for his family, while he was waiting for the vote in congress......Petty little tiny people.....Bah-Humbug Republicans
Please show some compassion for their desperation. It's hard to find legitimate reasons to criticize this president -- the president who repeatedly succeeds where the Republicans failed -- so might as well go after the dog.
yesterday I said that the house republicans would pass the senate tax cut bill by years end. Damn I should have made a $10k bet!!!
It's unfortunate that since he returned from his suspension at MSNBC, Schultz has utterly turned his back on the post-middle class -- and that's millions of us today. Every time he clarifies that he stands only for the better off, those who are still in the middle class, it's like pouring salt in the wounds of those who have been pushed out. Sometimes I tune in to see how long it will take Schultz to pander to the middle class (today, it was under 3 minutes). Maybe it's just more comforting for those middle class viewers to maintain the illusion that THEY could never lose everything. I think the number of post-middle class Americans well exceeds those still enjoying the middle class life. I don't know if anyone knows how many are in real poverty (no income); originally, the govt assured the public that they would track poverty in connection with determining the overall impact of welfare "reform," but the results were such that they quickly changed their minds. I wouldn't care about Schultz's target audience either way, if not for the fact that this is a case where such class elitism truly is counter-productive.
@DHFabian-756311, RE:
I'd have to disagree. He still shows concern about the Poor and Working Poor (some who never made it to Middle Class, some who did, and those who never were poor until the Great Recession or its long-lingering aftermath, as that Recession has been officially over for almost 1½ years). Ed certainly jumped on Newt for his erroneous statement about poor black kids who should be given jobs working for the School Janitor so they'd know what work is and that they could get money without breaking the law (regardless of the fact that it would be in violation of child labor laws).
The one thing I can say I haven't heard him mention for awhile are the 99ers, who've used up all their UI yet still can't find a job.
Another great lineup of guests tonight. You know, I will respect a person's position on just about any subject if their argument can be supported by reasonable logic and fact. My point is, the right wing argument for their position on various subjects breaks down under the slightest scrutiny. I have grown so tired of their smoke and mirrors, slight of hand, misdirection magic show. For me, I have reached the point where if a republican's lips are moving, it's a lie. A very sad state of affairs, but a conditioned response nonetheless.
What do you expect when the standard GOP ideology (thanks in large part to Grover Norquist) is that the solution for deficit reduction, job creation, etc., is: Cut Spending (& Revenue can't be increased by increasing taxes or ending tax expenditures) which just happens to be impossible. Of course, the economists all say that spending cuts will cause jobs to be lost, that tax cuts (for the rich) don't pay for themselves, whereas Unemployment Insurance will pay for itself with a 1.6% return (as well as payroll tax cuts for the working poor and middle class). [The economists that Boehner, etal., refer to say otherwise. So those economists don't actually exist or got their degrees out of a box of crackerjacks.]
BTW, in any argument where the conclusion is impossible, everything is true. So it's blatantly obvious that the GOP representatives are using invalid arguments, since the ideology they live by is impossible. Ergo, revenue increases are necessary, through tax increases and/or ending tax expenditures, such as the subsidies to Big Oil. Agribusiness, etc.
I always say Eddie cannot get any stupider but then he continues to prove me wrong. I do chuckle each time the cable ratings come out and Eddie has fewer viewers than twenty year old cartoon shows. Soon the new owners of NBC will clean house and remove all my entertainment.
And yet here you are; a right-wing troll not only watching Ed every night but taking the time to comment about his show. Do you even begin to understand what a @!$%#ing dumb-ass you've made yourself out to be?
