I am continually amazed at how well the mail carrier maintained her composure in the face of Rep. Walsh's rant. Keep asking the hard questions!

Ed, thank you for doing this interview with Melissa Rakestraw! I was impressed with her when I first saw the video, and it was nice to see the follow-up. Walsh apparently can't handle a discussion with someone who knows the facts and isn't intimidated. Apparently he thinks facts are something to be ignored, kind of like his child support payments?
joe walsh is a dead-beat dad, but he is also a narcissist, and a sociopath. he thinks rules and laws don't apply to him, that he is above it all. we see this is in the way he treats his ex-wife, and especially his children. so "worried" about the debt that he doesn't want to put on the backs of his children, but he doesn't care if they have their daily needs met.
100,000.00 would do alot for his kids with his ex-wife.

It's a crying SHAME on PENN STATE for firing Joe Paterno when he had nothing to do with the CHILD RAPES that went on there.But since they FIRED him,maybe they should get rid of the whole coaching staff along with EVERY school administrator along with the board of trusties who I wouldn't trust one bit for running the school.The only staff that leaves is the TEACHING staff for running the place.

Coach Paterno may have had nothing to do with the child rapes directly, but he had everything to do with the cover-up!
Sandusky continued work on the coaching sraff after he was reported in 1998, retired with full honours in1999, and continued his predatory activities in the Phys. Ed. department for more than a decade after his crimes were reported to Paterno and the local District Attorney. The ADA assigned to the case conveniently disappeared (we're talking possible murder here!) before charges were sought, and the case disappeared as well.

everyone at penn state who knew what sandusky was doing knew what the consequences of the scandal would be. apparently the lives of "a few" 10 year old boys is NOT too high of a price to pay.
The actions of these men and the egregious breach of trust shown to these children, mandates not only termination; but full investigations for conspiracy.
The actions of these men are outrageous.I believe Pen State should not play on Saturday as well as suspended for at least a year as an act of contrition to the sufferings that those molested/abused boys suffered.Although no amount of contrition,money or otherwise will offset the damage these boys went thru,physically and mentally for the rest of their for LIFE.

Ed, I have generally agreed with your positions over the last several years. However, after watching your reaction as well as Chuck Todd's to Joe Paterno, I would swear I am watching Fox News! Neither of you have a clue on how Universities function!! (I spent 20 yrs on a prestige Univ faculty) YOU DON'T GO OUT OF THE CHAIN OF COMMAND!!! If you do the consequences are dire - you lose your job! Moreover, you have not given any real thought to the issue. Let me pose this: you learned yesterday that your favorite male cousin aged 65 is a closet pedophile. You really want us to believe you call the police. BS, my friend! What a thoughtful person might do (if he had the courage) is confront and press that individual to get treatment (even though the condition is likely not treatable). Well I can tell you what would have happened to a school custodian if he turned in staff for inappropriate behavior towards minors via 1990 rules, he would have been fired. A friend was working at a school and was wondering why his supervisor was complaining that he wasn't cleaning the art areas restrooms and class rooms, even though both were clean when he left work at 11pm. One friday he stayed in the school parking lot instead of going home right away. At 11:45pm he saw the art teachers car pull into the parking lot and the teacher went into the school. 15 minutes later 6 middle school age girls showed up, went to the classrooms emergency door and the teacher let them in. They all went into the classrooms supply room where they stayed until 3am, this happened every tuesday and friday, so he called the cops and told them what was going on at the school. Police showed up on a friday night when the teacher arrived asked the teacher what was going on the teacher said the girls was helping him with an after school project he then asked police who reported them and the police gave up my friend. He was called in monday morning and was told he was fired.

fear of losing one's job is a powerful motivator for NOT doing the right thing, even if the job is "only" a janitor. but...
this has nothing to do with being a "fuzzy-headed liberal". we know how some of the rich and powerful conduct themselves and run their lives.
the real issue here is what sandusky did, and what others at penn state did by ENABLING HIM, to that 10 year old boy, and countless others, and everybody at penn state covered it up. they were not willing to give up their lives of money, fame and power, not for a few 10 year old boys.

Joe Walsh should be centured for his conduct namely the incident a few months ago where failed to appear in court as part of the 100k he owes in child support and tried to say he had important business on capital hill. His important business was one interview and a vote that he really didn't need to show up for. Combine that with things like what we just saw at this townhall and other instances of Mr.Walsh just spewing pure malicious political rhetoric his character should be in serious question.
Get rid him and Allen West for that matter, both loud mouths constantly throwing insults at those who disagree with them. Seriously you're in Congress not middle school c'mon
Ed, I love your show but I wanted to hear more from the postal worker in Illinois. Please bring her back. I want to know where she stands as far as voting for someone who does not appreciate the people that voted for him. I also would like to hear from the person he told they can leave or he will have them thrown out. I realize this is giving that clown more publicity but the country need to know what has happened since putting people like Joe Walsh in office. The people in Ohio did it, the people in Mississippi, Maine and Arizona also did it CHANGE. Now this movement need to move to Illinois and other states to get rid of Joe Walsh and people like Joe Walsh. Then he will not be able to hide behind he being a government worker and send his $ss to jail for not taking care of his children. The postal worker is a government worker also so if she lose her job she needs to make sure Joe Walsh lose his job in Congress. WHAT A BUNCH OF BULL? HE WAS HUNGRY.
