Of course it is empty. Gov. Kasick is talking, however, he just told news media that the people have spoken, and when you hear the people you have to listen. Is this his campaign mode, not to be run out of the state? Seems strange to me that that now he can listen?
No way he will respect the people of Ohio..
Expect Gov. Kasick to sponsor another Union striping bill...
thankful mom,
he still has 3 more years. ohio does not have recall elections.
suzette be nice if the people of Ohio will make him the longest running Lame Duck Governor.
pilot,
i am sure he would rather have things the other way around, but i would NOT trust what he said. it would be nice if the results of this election would be that the gov. would find common ground and listen to the people, instead of pushing through things that they don't want.
i am really proud of the people of ohio for standing up to this bully, and the rest of the bullies in the republican party.
kitty,
you sound just like sarah palin, and that is NOT a compliment.
Guess kitty has a word understanding problem the same as Palin either that or her sex life is so bad she gets turned on thinking about all of the GOP perverts fantasizing about her.
Hello Kitty?
It seems that God is on the union workers side, not KaSICK's.
God isn't on the side of those who cheat, and it doesn't sit well with God when the Repugs put out robo calls lying about when the election is. Voter suppression is not favorable in God's eyes.
Thank you God for the vote on ISSUE #2, To help people to get back to work and keep their jobs. It grieves me that they voted on issue #3, which will not keep those Ohioans well and able to work. Please see that that is correct ASAP. Not in 3 years.......
What was that in your critique of cut and past or using the word for word post over and over again? ? ? ? ?
albert,
what you fail to mention in your post above is that the republicans disapproval rting is a 77%. the BAGGERS are at 84%. the democrats are at 64%, so that would put Nancy Pelosi with the rest of the democrats.
why are you dragging Nancy into this again? are you afraid that the way the republican/bagger party in washington, with their extreme right views on voting suppression, abortion, civil rights for gays, might be voted out, and that boehner will have to hand his gavel over to nancy again?
you should be VERY afraid.
LOL
iy seems the cult trolls only have a copy and paste point as i have seen it now on most of the threads.
but after a butt whooping they took and the Teapubliecant agenda crap, guess you have to fine a small light.
LOL
first have to commend you for at lease knowing you are a cult troll. you do know that is the first step in recovery right?
2nd guess you forgot to ask your handlers/enablers about given you the whole story on both of those. think you should get your money back as your super secret decoder ring doesn't work.
LOL oh it was good that you actually looked something up the meaning of 4th point of contact, of course i didn't need to look it up!
All The Way!!! Every Day!!!!
AIRBORNE!!!!
@ALBERT JONES
Oh yeah... the Rasmussen poll that polls strictly conservatives resulting in a skewed conservative leaning poll. That might be the reason for your clearly off base results.
The last results I saw... President Obama's favorability has risen recently and in the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll his job-approval rating stands at 44 percent.
Also 52 percent approve of Obama's foreign-policy handling, while a whopping 71 percent agree with the president’s decision to withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq by this December.
What’s more, a combined 71 percent say they like Obama personally; 60 percent believe he has inherited the current economic conditions; and more blame Wall Street bankers and George W. Bush than Obama for the economy.
In addition, the president continues to lead his GOP rivals. He holds a six-point edge over Romney, 49 percent to 43 percent. And he runs 15 points ahead of Cain, 53 percent to 38 percent.
By the same rational of Rasmussen giving a skewed conservative result, I can understand why Conservatives might not poll favorably for Speaker Pelosi. She was so much more competent and successful at the job of Speaker of the House than the sorry job Speaker Boehner has done.
He can barely even convince his House Repugs/TEAbags to vote for the things he wants to pass.... and none of them have been to create jobs, even though that is what the Repugs/TEAbags ran on in 2010. And why is it that Speaker Boehner doesn't want to acknowledge the tax lobbiest Grover Norquist? Is there something to hide there?
@suzette
Why is Albert dragging Nancy Pelosi into it again?
I think you are exactly right, they are afraid Johnny boy will be handing over his huge gavel back to Speaker Pelosi come 2013. Especially after the sorry job he's done as the Speaker thus far and there doesn't seem to be any sign of improvement anytime soon.
albert,
the republicans are trying to find someone, ANYONE other than romney to be the republican candidate.
have you seen the republican candidates?
the american people (77%) disapprove of the republican party.
the american people (84%) disapprove of the baggers.
the american people see the republican/bagger party as filibustering OBSTRUCTIONISTS, the reason congress isn't getting anything done.
albert, TELL THE WHOLE STORY.
I wouldnt believe one word Kasick says. You know who's lining his pockets and he could care less what the majority wants. Same as the Republicans in DC. They dont care and they will continue with their efforts to suppress voting, break unions, and have the middle class pay for the financial problems that they and the rich caused. A leopard doesnt change his spots, do not trust him. Does anyone know when Kasick is up for re-election?
Exactly Sam, from what I've heard kasich is already planning on shoving the same bill down the throats of Ohioians next year and the process will have to start all over again untill he's kicked out of office.
Yeah, but the Sleeping Giant has awakened!!!
I think your right Edward Jan
Don't gloat John, you know the businesses and related jobs will be moving to Texas and other "Right to Work" states. The rust belt is still rusting! When will they ever learn?
Some folks think their humour is droll;
Some think being rich is their goal;
But I think that I've found
The worst parasite around
Is a lie-slinging, right-winger troll...
Do you even know what your talking about? Let me explain it to you since you have a comprehention problem. These are PUBLIC sector jobs. How the hell are firemen, police and teachers jobs going to be moved to 'right to work states'? Yeah, you have to watch those 'Union thugs' alright. They'll help you make a decent wage and have a 'lil retirement. The bastards.
@John in Texas
I think Capt USMC up there has taken too many hits to the head.
I think your right DScully.
John, When the gravy train in Ohio is gone they will move or find new employment in the private sector. The State can not afford the cost of their pay, benefits, and pensions. Either the state has to come up with a way to reduce costs or increase revenues or the Public Sector jobs will be reduced. I imagine many will leave to get a job as a Teacher, Police Officer, or Firefighter, when work cannot be found in Ohio.
well well well. think fox will let him finally interview Ed to say CONGRATULATIONS?
howdy Kitty cat.........
Poor kitty stuck repeating the same tired old Reagan lies.
kitty,
ronald reagan ran for office on smaller gov't and lower taxes. and while he did cut taxes for corporations, he also raised taxes 11 times to help deal with the impending deficit that the tax cuts would cause. he also grew the size of gov't, and when he left office, the defict was huge.
the only time we hear about deficits and spending cuts from republicans are when a democrat is in office. where were you all when bush had a blank check and took this country to this economic meltdown? where were you all when he took his eye off bin laden and went after saddam hussein in iraq at the same time he was doubling down on the bush tax cuts for THE SECOND TIME in march of 2003?
ronald reagan was not dealing with the recession that Barack Obama is. and ronald reagan didn't have a bunch of democrats filibustering EVERY single thing he tried to do.
LETS PLAY?
ronald reagan ran up a huge deficit. he grew the size of gov't, and he raised taxes 11 times.
all republican presidents as far back as nixon, as least, are big spenders, and they love big gov't.
face it, the republican party is the party of debt, deficits and big gov't. as reagan himself said, "deficits DON'T MATTER" (unless a democrat is president).
Reagan did not create more jobs. Reagan Started out with a 5.5% unemployment, in Reagans first term unemployment hit 10.8%. 8 years later when Reagan left office unemployment was down to 5.4%, basically were it was when he took office so all Reagan managed after 11 tax hikes on the middle class was put the same number off people who were laid off back to work meaning 0 job creation, unless you use fuzzy Republican math that is.
Reagan never had 1 month of no job growth, thats because he had 8 years of no job growth.
Poor can't get it right can't even make up his own put downs so he steals from a liberal. Typical another stupid tea bagged Koch slave.
Right like Pilot hasn't been telling you from the first day you showed up in your sisters dirty panties to get your head out of the 4th point of contact. That really shows just how stupid you really are. What can't get it right, you think you are slick? All I see is another dead beat republican welfare queen earning its Koch dollar.
@suzette
You are so right.... over the past 30 years it has been the Repug Presidents who have done the most spending and run the deficit up the most.
The debt was about $1 trillion when Reagan took office, after the administrations of Nixon/Ford, and Carter, and then:
Reagan added $1.9 trillion in 8 years.
Next came George H.W. Bush who added $1.5 trillion (in just four years);
Bill Clinton added $1.4 trillion in the first 5 years of his 2 administrations, but then had balanced budgets and surpluses the last 3 years. So he added nothing else to the debt and left a surplus.
Then came the BIGGEST DISASTER of ALL...GW MORON who added an additional $6.4 trillion to the deficit. The number is staggering.
George W. Bush ran up $6.4 trillion. That's nearly half—44.7 percent—of the $14.3 trillion total. We all know what did it—two massive tax cuts geared toward the rich, along with all the other spending that was not paid for, which was all of it including slashing the capital gains and inheritance taxes, the off-the-books wars, the unfunded Medicare expansion, etc.
@whomitmay
You are right, Ronnie Reagan's job creation was nothing compared to Clinton's who followed. Here are some figures.
Under Reagan's "trickle down" economy, only 9.5 million jobs were created from January 1981 to December 1986. Yet Clinton had almost double the amount of jobs created during a 6 year span of time, and left a surplus in the treasury while Reagan had added $1.9 trillion to the deficit.
Bill Clinton raised taxes and created 23.1 million jobs, and left a surplus
GW Bush cut taxes and created only 3 million jobs during his entire 8 years in office and eventually lost 800 million jobs at the end of his term, and over $6.4 trillion dollar deficit.
@ALBERT JONES
By comparison to GW Moron's job creation record above, Obama's stimulus created and saved 2.6 to 3.2 million jobs in just his first 1-2 years in office and is still creating jobs with absolutely no help from the Repug/TEAbag congress.
Outstanding Job OHIO!!!!!!!
also good show ED!!!!
hey Piloshark, notice the congrats the teapubs offer that the people had their say in Ohio? ewwww, just think what's commin up in other states....they ought to be spinning.......
Yes,
but it seems they are having troubles getting their spin on.
desperation in sock draw HQ.
Looking bleak on the republican front! I hear slick rick is now ready to take on another debate......hope he can keep up.
Its NOT the unions who have caused the problem. They are average working men and women, brothers and sisters, mothers and father, they are American. The cause of this problem is greed on Wall Street, Corporate CEO and their stock options both pushing and taking good jobs to Red Communist China. Our politicians who have enacted trade deals that are killing the middle class and the ubber rich that have sucked the country and much of the world dry of the disposable cash. Communist china does not float it's money (its undervalued), they charge 25% tarrif on goods imported from the US... we float our money and we only charge them 2.5% tarriff... Communist china shoots people wanting better working conditions, have no human rights or labor laws (pleanty of children working making your clothes and shoes folks). Time we make them stop but cutting off their market. If Americans can have a level playing field we can and will compete. We cannot compete against Chinese slaves. You want to blame somebody who is at fault then go and occupy your town!!!!! Blaming working men and womend is not only anti american but anti human. Only pure trash and GOP vomet would stoop to such. Live with that.
Amen AZlib!
I wonder what Romney will say now, he was so pro issue 2 and the personhood amendment in MS... Time for the play dough man to do what he does best, change his mind, yet again, and again, and again.... and again...
Don't mess around with blue collar america, the people have had enough!
What a great day for all people still sane and fair minded, that pain in the rear the radicalized right is feeling today, that's the boot of the middle class!
You can probably count on a romney flip flop. After all he is a professional at it.
Ahhhhhh let me guess was it Mittens? Or was it Perry or was it Cain? The GOP flip flop more then a tea bagged republican when caught with their sisters dirty drawers on their heads, disgusting perverts.
Really because thats rather lame but then when you are a loser tea bagged republican I guess you will try grasping all the straws you can to keep you from drowning in your own crap. I mean the candidate you will get stuck supporting next year, Mittens, changes his mind on what he is for every 5 minutes or less.
which means he is dead last in Americas poll.
not saying much being number one for the Greed Over Patriotism party.
LOL
The republicans have been trying to push their radical agenda for some time now. It appears that the American people have had enough of their push to force this country into the dark ages. From the defeat of the abortion bill in Miss. to the recall of the rep in Arizona, the strike breaking attempt in Ohio and the defeat of more of their agenda in other states. I hope that this is a sign that the American people have decided that the far right ideals are not good for this country.
Ed, Of course the chair is empty. The Govern has a lot of work to do. Plans to salvage the economy of Ohio have just been trashed. The State is operating in the Red. This leaves the governor with few options more property taxes or layoffs, being at the top of the list. Even though the Voters supported the Public Sector Unions in defeating Issue 2, I imagine they are not willing to pay more taxes to support the Public Sector Union members pay, benefits and pensions. I doubt the Governor will pursue layoffs, at least not until the voters reject the Tax increases. As it is, it appears the voters of Ohio "want their cake and to eat it too." They want the Unions to have their way, yet I doubt they will want more Taxes to pay for them. I guess I will watch as Ohio falls deeper and deeper in debt.
Great points - not to mention all the companies that have left and will continue to leave the state for more business friendly areas further eroding the tax base and putting people out of work.
Governor Kasick can still chip in with some of his bonus money. The Koch boys are one phone call away to help him in his bid for re-election.
Hopefully your bad jokes and snide comments are enough to keep Ohio from being in the red and running business out of the state.
Edward, Besides the joke, do you see any other options for Ohio? As I see it they can reduce spending or increase revenue. Sounds kind of like the Federal Governments problem. If he increases Property and Sales Taxes, the voters that supported the Unions may very well rethink their position. I don't see layoffs immediately following the defeat of Issue 2, but I can't see the Voters accepting Tax Increases to support the Unions. It will be interesting to watch. As a Tax Payer, I would not to give even more in Taxes only for it to go to Public Sector Union members that already have better pay, benefits, and pensions than I do. I think when it is all said and done, the Voters of Ohio will regret their decision to defeat Issue 2. They are the ones that will pay for it. Do you see the matter in a different light? How do you think they will receive Tax Increases?
Here's a thought. How about he does away with the 150 billion in tax cuts to corporations in Ohio.
He could, but all that would do is roll a red carpet right out of the state for them. Ohio is already struggling in that aspect - they need to do something to attract more private investment.
I live in Pennsylvania (a swing state). Public sector unions don't seem to be having to much trouble in the collective bargaining arena even with our republican governor Tom Corbett. Our Liquor Control Board run stores are union, and even if they go private they will still have union jobs. We have casino revenue at 85% on slots alone which goes to property tax relief to people who live in the suburbs and a lottery which helps seniors. We currently have a 3% income tax and 6% sales tax (7% in Philadelphia).
In response to Public Sector Union members that have better pay, benefits, and pensions I say join a union to negotiate those things. I was blogged by someone on this site who told me "don't you have negotiating skills Edward?" In reply I said that most jobs are non-negotiable. That's what unions are for. We are not competing for the worlds lowest wages.
There are other options than Tax Increases. Putting the blame on Public Employees is not one of them.
Cannon, then why did'nt they leave during the last Govenor's term when they did'nt have those tax cuts? Just more fearmongoring maybe?
No, it is not fearmongering. It is difficult for a business to just pick up and leave overnight, but if you look at the trends in Ohio and many other rust belt states you can see they have been declining for years and something must be done. Heavy manufacturing, like steel mills for example, will likely never come back to what they once were...so states like Ohio must look at how they can attract new business, industry, etc. to get people back to work and continue to drive forward. One of those things is tax incentives...it is just a reality in today's world.
You know loose if this was 1984 and you told me that I might have believed you but back then I didn't know what I do today. See I seen citys and states bend over back wards to give corporations tax cut after tax cut, I seen workers taking less and less pay as well as giving up a lot of the benefits that their grand fathers and fathers fought hard for. And when the smoke cleared from the dust of the destroyed building the bottom line was the corporations had already decided to move years before they actually moved, those tax cuts and worker cuts just allowed them to still show a profit while they were in the transaction of stripping the buildings of machines and moving it all to their new business in China. I'm tired of corporations holding the US hostage with threats knowing that in the end that is what the corporations goal was, tax cuts or worker benefit cuts won't stop the corporations from doing what they had already decided 20 or 30 years ago and why should we get left holding the tab for the cost of corporations moving? Tax them till they scream because they are leaving anyhow so why help them.
awww yes let the spin begin!!!
LOL, going to be fun break out the pop corn.
cult troll sock draws are flying open!!!
kind of like the wicket witch from the Wizard of Oz`s >>> go fly my little socks fly!!!!
They never fail to drag up Reagans greatest lies ever told to prove their non point.
Speaking of Reagan, there's one Reagan I like...Ron Jr. He's a good Dem. I don't know how he ended up in that family...he must be adopted! LOL
Careful, your homophobia is showing. You've got a lot of guts to talk about him, when you have a name like Hello Kitty, creampuff. If you're insinuating I'M gay you couldn't be more wrong!
MJB its our old stupid friend can't get it right 2012 wearing his sisters dirty panties as a disguise. He is a true pervert.
Also as it looks now it seems we had a clean vote yesterday, not hearing a lot of crying and screaming voter fraud, ballot boxes not being found, machines changing names etc...
well lets hope it stays this way, but its only been a few hours after the vote.
Pilotshark, Of course there has been any protests over the vote, the Democrats won. The protests generally follow a Democrat defeat. That said, do you think the Ohio Voters will like the Tax Increases that will be required to feed to Union pay, benefit, and pension plans and prevent layoffs? I am thinking they will not be well received. It would be kind of funny to see the Middle Class of Ohio give up even more to support the Public Sector Unions. You make your bed and you sleep in it. I wonder if the millions the Unions spent in ads against Issue 2, addressed the alternative, more Taxes?
Want some cheese with your whine?
Whom, How was I whinning? Simply stated a fact. Now would you be willing to pay more Sales and Property Tax to support the Public Sector Unions?
LOL
that`s just funny.
Funny thing is back in the 80's the GOP were whining that unions and high taxes was killing jobs in Michigan so the GOP cut taxes and the big 3 union workers took cuts on benefits guess what, the businesses still left in fact one of the biggest machine manufacturers Baker/Perkins took the tax cuts then skipped out of the country to Germany owing millions in unpaid taxes that they agreed to pay if they took the tax cuts and didn't stay in the state. So what your saying is pure BS. How about your boy Ksick just removes the tax cuts he gave to the filthy rich and then the wealthy can pay their share and I don't have to make up for the wealthy getting tax cuts.
And btw no you did not present facts you presented the good old Reagan whine.
I wonder if the millions the Unions spent in ads against Issue 2
they didnt have to spend Millions as they got people power to do it! see people out do money ever time!!!
Whom, Talk about Michigan, did you see the Mayor this morning on the Daily Rundown? Seems the city's Democrat Mayor is "asking" the Public Sector Unions for 42M in concessions. The city like many states is in the Red and they can no longer afford the extremely high cost of the Public Sector Union pay, benefits, and pensions. Do you think the Michigan Mayor is blaming the Unions for the problems of the city or perhaps he sees the Union Reform as part of the solution. Funny a Democrat Mayor sees Public Sector Unions the in a similar fashion as the Republican Governors of Wisconsin and Ohio. Just another one that will be interesting to watch. Will the Unions go to Michigan and protest the Democrat Mayor?
the Public Sector Unions for 42M in concessions.
concessions has not been the problem! as all unions have and are willing to negotiate.
Not to mention that mayor is in the City of Flint who lost 98% of it's GM jobs along with the city taxes being wiped out because they lost high wage workers and corporation tax dollars. Flint was the 2nd largest city in the state until the 1980's when GM started down sizing and closing factories which has nothing to do with the unions but the GM CEO who made the decision to down size and out source. Funny how laying off 1000's of employees has a negative effect on the city being able to run.
Whom, You may have something there. When assembly line workers, the majority of which are unskilled, negotiate the pay, benefits, and pensions worthy of a Doctor or Engineer the cost of labor goes through the roof. They also artificially increase the value of those employees to the surrounding community. Then when the corporation seeks a labor force that is less costly, the community fails. When a Union uses the term, Negotiate: they typically mean "Our way or the Highway". Strikes, Walk-offs, and Sick-outs are common practices used during Union Negotiations. Some see it as legal black mail and coercion. Is it any wonder GM closed a few doors? And did the Unions learn from GM's decision? Why is it OK for a Union to Walk Off a job, but not OK for the Corporation to do the same? The UAW is just as responsible for the condition of the American Automobile Industry as the Corporations.
But that all doesn't really explain why a Democrat Mayor has come to the same conclusion as two Republican Governors. While Public Sector Unions may not have been the cause of the problem, the ever rising cost to support them, keeps the cities, counties, and states in the RED. So do you think the left will gang up of the Mayor, or give him a pass.
Right because you don't make union wages no one should make union wages because after all you are exceptional. Once again we see projection at work as well as jealousy. Maybe if you had worked in one of those GM factories or even took a tour in one you would understand why they demanded a living wage. Here is a clue, factory workers risk health, hearing, limbs and life every day they are in a factory. Even though factories are safer today then they were 60 or 70 years ago, 9 out of 10 factory workers suffer hearing loss even with noise protectors in place. That is something factory workers live with. As far as education you have to be at least a high school grad to get into a auto factory, that wasn't the case in the 50's but by the 60's it was. You are an insult to all workers with your pro corporate greed BS.
Even though factories are safer today then they were 60 or 70 years ago, 9 out of 10 factory workers suffer hearing loss even with noise protectors in place
and the big reason why they are much safer today and that goes for the private sector factories none union ones.
YUPPERS cause of the UNIONS!!
Whom, It is difficult to get an answer to the question from your response. You kind of ramble a little and have a hard time staying focused. I asked a simple question, "Why is it OK for a Union to Walk Off a job, but not OK for the Corporation to do the same? I may understand your inability to hear the question if you worked on the Flight Deck of an Air Craft Carrier, the most dangerous industrial environment in the world, and if this was a spoken conversation. The fact is the question was written.
Pilotshark, Unions may very well have played some part in existing safety regulations, but it wasn't the Unions of today. Federal Regulations concerning hearing protection, eye protection, respiratory protection, etc... have been on the books for years. OSHA was established in 1971, over 40 years ago. Something tells me the Unions of today have little to do any significant safety regulations. As for workers and hearing loss, we all have hearing loss, it comes with age.
You too failed to answer my question, "Why is it OK for a Union to Walk Off a job, but not OK for the Corporation to do the same?" I bet you will come up with something that justifies the Union's use of the tactics while you condemn the Company's use of them.
Because you are making a straw man comparison, the worker is trying to get what he feels his labor is worth, why should he have to take wages that doesn't meet with the cost of living. Why should he be forced to work a 14 hour a day and not get paid over time. Why should he have to work in unsafe environments. That you think the corporations are going to give the worker a fair shake is laughable, the corporations try to get the cheapest labor it can find and worker safety be damned.
Whom, Federal Law requires overtime to be paid for hours worked in excess of 8 hours. Federal Regulations also address working conditions. As for a a "living wage" or "meeting the cost of living". The compensation of the Average UAW worker vastly exceeds the average non-union worker compensation. There is not "Straw Man Comparison." The Company and Labor are on the playing field, each party has advantages and disadvantages, and each typically leverages their particular advantages during negotiations. In the past 100 years Auto Workers have leveraged their advantages to such a degree that pay has gone from $5.00 an hour at Ford to a total compensation package in excess of 150K when pay, benefits and pensions are considered. The Average Compensation for a UAW Worker is three times the Average Household Income in the United States. There are very few occupations that have seen such a dramatic increase in pay and benefits as the Auto Workers. More often than not increases in benefits were achieved by the the threat of, or actual strikes, walk-offs and sick-outs. Corporation typically do what is best for their success. I think the US Auto Industry has finally come to the conclusion the US Labor Force is much too costly and impossible to rely on. I personally see not difference in a Company closing its doors and a Union Strike. The UAW as much responsible for factories closing as the Companies. It is a shame entire communities have suffered as a result of the greed of the Unions and the Corporations.
Which is why you will never be one of the 2%, you are to dumb to look out for yourself and repeat the corporate slander against workers which is where your ideals came from, the mouth of a CEO.
Whom, When a child, I lived in a home with my mother and father and four siblings, we may have been in the Middle Class but I doubt it. My father was in the Marine Corps and my mom worked part time for the Phone Company. When I left home at 18, my father had his retirement from the Marine Corps and was earning $30.00 an hour with stock options from FMC his employer, my mother worked full time at Siliconix and electronic company in the Silicon Valley. Their combined income was in excess of 100K a year. In 1972 that placed them well in the top of the Middle Class. I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1974, was married in 1976 and was once again at the lower end of the Middle Class, if not in poverty. The first two years we were married we had a combined income of 5K. My son was born in 1984, at which time our combined income as 70K. We put our son through College and he left our home for the Army in 2008. He was brought up in the middle Class and he currently earn 70K, owns one rental property and is buying a second. When I retired, I was earning 100K and my wife another 30K. Again at the high end of the Middle Class. Our combined income now that I am retired is 90K, still at the high end of the Middle Class.
I have never striven to be part of the 1%, 2% of even the top 10%, but I have pursued the opportunities this country has available to every one, and I have been successful as was my father and my son. I have more than my Father and my son will have more than myself. I do not envy those that have more, nor am I compelled to take away what others have earned. My ideals are not based on some crap from a CEO nor am I some type of fool that is easily manipulated. My beliefs are based in my experience, what I have seen and what I have learned. In my experience hard work pays off and the lack of it does little to achieve success. I have learned people seldom have the ability to look in the mirror and accept responsibility for what they see. I have learned that in most cases human nature prevents the individual from assuming that responsibility and therefore our problems are always caused by some one else. The UAW can blame the Companies and the person that has a home foreclosed can blame the Bank, but the bottom line they played their part. We are responsible for our own destiny, no one else. You may feel better when you excuse your own personal failures, by blaming others, but they are still your failures. Blame will not improve your situation, it will only inhibit your future success.

What a bunch of right wing tea bagged nonsense. That you then try to start a flame war by blaming my failures, whatever those are because you don't have a clue about me or my life or livelihood is clear as well, when you righties can't win the debate make a personal attack. All I see is a tea bagged republican projecting his beliefs onto someone else while demonizing unions, workers and the poor, which shows a complete lack reality as while as a childish mentality.
Whom, You are too funny.
Pilotshark, Does that mean no you would not be willing to pay more Sales and Property Taxes to support the Unions or that you would be willing?
well Sales and Property taxes Do not Support the Unions!
It supports All of the People!
and guess who else pays those taxes property and sales along with federal income taxes. that`s right Union members as they are part of the middle class. and if Kasich really did hear Ohio he will drop all the BS and get to work on saving OHIO!
Gee they are really stuck on stupid aren't they.
So Pilotshark you would be open to higher taxes then?
i sure do! so you are 100% correct on that!!!!!
higher taxes on the rich and corporations! as the middle/working class has already paid our FAIR SHARE!!!!!
No, I am talking about you personally and others in the middle class (which I am in myself) to make up for budget shortfalls and to guarantee contracts for public sector union members?
Pilotshark, In 2010 the Commercial Activity Tax (CAT) was responsible for 26% of the Tax Revenue of Ohio. Corporate Taxes in Ohio are already significant. Suggesting Corporation be Taxed more will in all probability result in more businesses leaving the state. It is only reasonable to pursue increases in Property and Sales Taxes. Then again, with the hate the left routinely displays towards business, perhaps they will demand more Corporate Taxes. That too will be fun to watch as the state will eventually drive out most business.
Pilotshark, To correct the above 26% of Property Tax in Ohio was paid by Industry and business.
Pilotshark, Sales and Property Taxes do support Public Sector Union employees. You are right that they do not exclusively support Public Sector Unions, others benefit from the Taxes as well. There is one thing you left out. Every penny paid in Taxes by a Public Sector Union member came from Taxes in the first place. No one would be complaining if Union members were the only one paying Taxes, but they don't pay anywhere near enough to pay themselves.
Why would the Governor want to come on a show hosted by a windbag.
LOL
i can understand why you feel this way seeing the TOTAL butt whipping you all took last night not one important thing was even close.
Some folks think their humour is droll;
Some think getting rich is their goal;
But I think that I've found
The worst parasite around
Is a lie-slinging, right-winging troll...
Hey David M. Johnston, I though that might be worth repeating again:
"SOME FOLKS THINK THEIR HUMOR IS DROLL;
SOME THINK GETTING RICH IS THEIR GOAL;
BUT I THINK THAT I'VE FOUND
THE WORST PARASITE AROUND
IS A LIE-SLING, RIGHT-WINGING TROLL....."
Isn't repletion and brainwashing the republican way?
Yep and they vote republican and think 6% is a majority.
Kitty Kat, are you referring to your republican pal Albert in your comment? He can't talk on his own, he just copy and pastes everything he posts.
And remember Sibyl, Santa will not be coming to your house this year. No hand outs.
ED i forgot to say.
You looked pretty good in your new Helmet as a newly brother of fire fighters.
Well I hate to say I told you so....but Kasich is already talking about tax increases. I'm sure the word layoff will be coming out of his mouth next. Let the hangover begin.
Better start baking cookies for those fundraisers...This Stinks!
Is he taking back the 150 million tax cut he gave to corporations? Really if he wants to start he needs to start there.
Kasich is already talking about tax increases.
this is good news!!!!!!as he said he hear the people of OHIO and should start by raising taxes on the rich and corporations!
i know you dont have to waste our time with your canned come back on taxes etc...
whomitmay-I know you don't agree with my views but I can tell you he will not take back the 150 million in tax cuts to corporations. He is not going to reduce his pay or his staffs pay. This is what I have been trying to tell you people. He has said all along that tax increases will be needed to cover these costs or layoffs will be necessary. Personally, I think these tax increases will fall on the middle class and small companies. I hope you guys enjoyed your victory last night. This is a dark day for the public worker who is unfortunate enough to have little seniority. It is also a dark day for the middle class and small business. Congratulations! I'm sure this post is going to tick people off but the truth hurts.
Keep dreaming Pilot. He is not going to tax the rich. You should know better. Welcome to the hangover. Told You!
Whom and Pilot - I know in your perfect ideological world we would raise taxes on the rich and corporations and the middle and working class would finally have the revenge you crave so much. However, TAP is right on point. Taxes will be raised on people like you as corporations, manufacturing, the wealthy etc. will continue to exodus from Ohio and the state will continue its decline...be careful what you wish for...money does not grow on trees, it comes from your pockets.
well if he does raise taxes on the middle/working class he was going to do it any ways with or with out this vote.
and this was more for having a VOICE in the game.
so as you see "that I hope you are happy with higher taxes cause of this" is really not a effective line.
I guess that he could raise taxes on a whim, but why would you choose to raise taxes for no reason...that just doesn't make sense. There is no such thing a free lunch and there are always trade offs. If the people of Ohio (I am not from Ohio) are more concerned with union collective bargaining or having a voice as you said...than so be it (that is the way they voted, so I respect that). However, in my opinion it just seems like winning a battle, but you will eventually lose the war.
PS I find it rather amusing that they think they are experts on taxes yet never see that every tax cut for corporations is followed by a tax increase on themselves. Now mind you that their whole worries about these tax increases that yet to have been made is rather amusing as the unions have not asked for anything yet, nor does collective bargaining cost the state a dime until the contract is up. That Ksick is using scare tactics on the citizens of Ohio is also rather telling. They forget that Ksick will have to face voters next year that could cause the republican held Ohio congress to be defeated then in 3 years Ksick will have to face voters and explain why he raised taxes on the people of Ohio in a vengeful act for the people daring to vote against his wishes, really does Ksick want to open that can of worms?
Well, I am not a licensed tax attorney like yourself...but I am worried about taxes going up, due to tax breaks expiring in 2012 and 2013. They probably only affect the rich though, middle and working class people don't own homes, or have children, or have student loans, or get married, or buy things, right? Oh wait...nevermind. And the thing about the public sector unions Whom is they may not want something now, but they will, because they always do...and when they do guess whose pocket it is coming out of...

Then get on your GOP congresses ass and tell them to renew instead of obstructing. It is up to congress to renew those benefits not the president. You really need to stop projecting your greed onto others, I remember back in the 80's when the UAW members started taking cuts in benefits because they saw the auto industry was going into the red, you could always tell the liberal workers from the conservative workers, the conservatives were the ones yelling the loudest about the unions taking less then they felt they deserved and ranting that the union no longer was looking out for them, even though it was the unions members who voted to take those cuts. What you are doing is listening to the propaganda put out by the anti union GOP, the union benefits they talk about are long gone and have been for a long time.
Ed, go easy on Gov. Kasick, because he's just doing what his bosses in the 1%(Koch Bros., etc.) have told him they want. Hmmm, MAYBE he'll start listening to the voices of those who were expecting JOBS this time???
What is this crap about Obama taxing Christmas Trees? I guess he will be taxing Santa Soon! Hold your breath air is next. Gotta pay for his policies some how....China is gonna run out of money sometime.
LOL,
you mean this made up thing.
Tree Farmers Blast ‘Sinister’ ‘Smear’ Of ‘Obama’s Christmas Tree Tax’
It may be pilot that's why I asked ..... I just saw the headline.....gotta go have a great afternoon.
you too.
MORE MISS INFORMATION^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This is not a new tax = Tree Growers have been collecting this tax for years. Long before Obama.
Obama had nothing to do with the Chrismas Tree Tax. ^^^^just like all none food items in most state a tax is charged on Christmas Tree.
NOT A NEW TAX
I would prefer to give my Christmas tree guy a 15% tip not a new Fed Tax.. talk about being a Grinch!!!!
A 15% Fed Tax is almost twice the NYS sales Taxes, so now I must pay 8.65% sales taxes and an additional 15% Fed Tax on a Christmas tree that I will throw out in 2 weeks...not fair..
Well when can't get it right 2012 post something he found on the internet without giving up the source I would question the value of what he copied and pasted. After all can't get it right 2012 put his sisters dirty panties on to fool people into thinking he was a female is rather showing just how dishonest he can be.
INDIA: Did you happen to see the horse and the small dog rubbing noses on one of the morning shows 2 days ago? I am asking because I know you love animals, they looked so cute!!!
Since Ohio has a law against recalling the governor, perhaps repealing that law should be next. How many other states have that law? Maybe those states should also repeal it. Government needs to learn that the Middle Class is not SECOND CLASS.
The chair is empty because Ed is a hack and has no pull anywhere and that is why he works for MSNBC.
LOL
its empty cause fox hasn't told him he can. guess the Murdoch and Kocks are thinking over his options like Walkers as well.
as it seems both have failed on the contact to them.
See my comment above on issue #3.
Thanks Nan, I'll go and learn something about what you wrote......Thanks again for pointing that out. Some people seem to think they are the only ones you might want to get the message out to. Too bad they have closed minds.
AHK I see you didn't read my comment on that. That vote meant NOTHING!
State Issue 3 won't have a big impact on health care in the short term, experts say
D.C. Appellate Court Upholds Constitutionality Of Obamacare
just a few things way that wasn`t a big deal. smiling you think they be trying to make the only place they won at the big thing. you know VA.
as every where else the radical right was beaten like the little drummer boys drum.
LOL
they did not spend any where close as the dead beats did.
and they also didnt have to spend much as the have PEOPLE POWER and that showed. by the defeating of the MAJOR ISSUE!
"
Supporters of Issue 3 cheered it as a repudiation of President Barack Obama's health care policy.
But experts like Albers agree that the issue will have no impact on the legal tussle in federal courts over the new federal health care law, although it will prevent Ohio from enacting its own Massachusetts-style law."
It must really stick in the tea bagged republicans egos to have to lower the bar that low to find a victory from all the losses they suffered tuesday in every state that had an election. Wait tea bagged republicans lowered that bar 30 years ago when they called Reagan bringing the unemployment down from 5.5% unemployment to 5.4% as a great victory and it only took him 8 years to get er done.
John Kasich is a tea party Republican, so there is no way he will raise taxes on anyone, more likely jobs will be cut. Ohio has already lost 11,000 public sector jobs. But there is no need to do either, when he can sell off the Ohio turnpike and make millions of dollars. Maybe he can sell it to the Chinese just like Toledo Mayor Mike Bell has been selling off Toledo to the Chinese.
To the Governor of Ohio and all repubs.- Hope repealing of issue # 2 in Ohio has opened your eyes in trying to degrade middle class Americans.
Start to respect people whose hard days work is providing you your daily and other needs cheaper and start to respect your fellow Americans. Don't forget Democracy.
WE SHOULD STOP SAYING THE WORDS SUCH AS BLUE AND WHITE COLLAR WORKERS, WE AMERICANS ALL ARE JUST WORKERS.
