The middle class is saying it has had enough.
The wars have nothing to do with state budget problems. State budgets operate independently than the federal defense budget - many states are doing well and actually running a surplus.

Last week, I realized something was missing from all the news reports on the Herman Cain sex scandal: the racial identity of the women who filed complaints against him. I suspected then that they were probably all white women.
I'm liberal. I'm progressive. I don't have any concern over consensual interracial, or inter-religious, or same-sex, relationships between freedom-loving American citizen, those enjoying equality under our U.S. Constitution, but I realized that where Republicans are concerned, especially those in the Deep South, certain relationships are still viewed as being morally and racially prohibited.
This made me wonder what effect learning that Herman Cain in the 1990s had been sexually harassing white women would have on his Republican presidential aspirations among Republican voters. But I also wondered what the O.J. Simpson murder trial, and acquittal, in the mid-1990s may have had on what happened between Herman Cain and these white women, with some filing sexual harassment complaints against him, while reportedly others didn't.
The main question I see facing Republican voters, especially among southern white males (some of whom I know) who've put "Honkies for Herman" bumper stickers on their vehicles, is whether their support for Cain's 9-9-9 Flat Tax plan outweighs any prejudice they might feel toward a black man sexually harassing white women.
The last person that came forward is a Republican. And it's was the Republican that came out with this stuff in the first place.
