A lot of firefighters are volunteers or part time that belong to unions. Don't get any benefits. Just pay for the fires they respond to. They bargain for safety equipment.
I watched last week as a politician was arguing about what was necessary for firefighter safety. That's like an HMO bean counter telling a doctor how to treat patients.

Something to think about......Let's say the left is correct (just for arguments sake) that the GOP will not let Obama do anything. If Obama get's elected in 2012, what is going to prevent the GOP from continuing their current path? Do you think that you are going to get a filabuster proof majority?
