I am a teacher who struggles to put food on the table to feed my family. My husband is unemployed and my mother has moved in with us. I have 17 year old twin girls and 40,000 a year does not go a long way. I feel the balanced budget will save the "Big Three" and make the "top 1%" of Americans pay more than me. I do not know what to do anymore! I am tired of struggling with all the cuts in my check and the insurances going up. I live pay check to pay check trying to feed my family while teaching our future. I feel a slap in the face every time I receive my check. I am for the balanced approach.

We all need to be asking ourselves what is really going on in Washington. Why would supposedly otherwise sane people be acting in such an insane way and precede to willing throw our country over the cliff? There are too few Bernie Sanders in Washington and far too many puppet politicians doing the will of some powerful groups who do not have the least desire to protect this country or its people.
Far too many of our politicians who claim to be patriotic Americans are anything but patriotic. They have become for me a very real terrorizing threat - a threat to any hope of overcoming financial difficulties. A threat to all of Middle America and the Working Poor. A threat even to those who make $250,000/ year or more. A threat to all the patriotic citizens in this country - and A threat to the American Dream. A week ago I was speaking to an 83 year old friend of mine who has just had to have hip replacement surgery and she told me she just can't stop worrying. My God, what has this country come too when an 83 year old woman is being placed in a position of constant worry about what is going to happen?
I am disgusted with the greed that has fed and continues to feed all of this. I hate to say this, but it needs to be said. What is happening, what has been happening for a decade now has all been feeding into the terrorists of 9/11 plans to crumble this country. And I just can't - won't - accept that!!
Every American needs to remember, even though there are some who want us to believe things are beyond our control, things are not beyond our control. We have a voice and we need to use it!! When 2012 comes, whatever you do, do not vote for anyone who has been doing the bedding of the corporate agenda. You will know these people because everything they say and do will be benificial to mega corporations and detrimental to the interests of the American people!!!!!!
Who said the GOP was sane? By the actions of the members of the GOP I'd say insanity is rampant within the GOP, come on a guy with a wide stance and another who gets hookers to change his dirty diapers? Then there is the rabid belief that trickle down economics will work, someday. Or how about the invisible guy in the sky that whispers to them and tells them that its ok to steal from the poor and give to the rich. The GOP is filled with the insane, that explains why Reagan declared there were no insane and opened up the nut hospitals, the GOP base had to be freed.

The Pres wants us to put pressure on the "ignorant politicians" that we elected in November. I do agree with him on that level.
I personally like to do my part......The Republicans need to listen to the American People, instead of the echos in their empty heads. So I email, and dial that phone over and over. If their mail box is full. Call again in the morning, until they empty it and fill it up again, and again and again....Is that too much trouble for you to help turn things around?

ED. i simply cannot understand how "the american people" could agree with the nonsense these republicans are spitting. Every time i hear John BONER say the "american people" i automatically substitute those words for "the wealthiest people who have BOUGHT OUT many if not ALL republican congressman/woman." I'm a college student who watches fox/msnbc/cnn unbiasedly and it has become very clear who represents who and has come to realize the propaganda we have always learned about still goes on through fox news and most republican congressman. Simply because they are wealthy enough to pay for Fox news to be on every single cable/dish package known to mankind, then they can simply brainwash the american people into thinking the democrats are the ones responsible for the problems they are the ones making. After watching the 2 speeches, I am totally appalled and people, this is scary. This country is about to implode from frustration. I've been watching what's been going on for the past couple years, receiving the crazy, irrational, politically biased emails. In response to President Obama's rationale, Boehner sounds like a kook and his speech was a psycho babble, double talk of misinterpretations of any fact. The frightening thing is that I believe Boehner's speech was conjured up deviously just to confuse viewers. I've been hearing that from a lot of Rebublicans and usually just chuckle, but tonigiht, what I've heard is frightening. Repeal the tax laws and allow the highest income earners to step up to the plate, as I'm sure, many are willing and know there help is needed.
I cannot give up on the "power people" because my gut tells me this will resolve. But this I know - our country will never be the same again.
Mr Boehner - you say you represent everyone.. and that is a lie. Your alliance is as plain as the tie around your neck! You talk about "the American people" but you don't listen to us. Mr.Boehner, are you not apart of the Big Government....You said the other day you were as important as the president.....Well? All you can come up with slashes, not cuts to the big 3, which at least have income coming in, and then you want to cap the deficit which you know we have to raise. How many times did you vote to raise it for GW? Balance the taxes for all the people, and quite giving welfare to the rich. You, Mr. Boehner, are the problem that has created this crisis. When do you plan to compromise?

Why do so many commentators, msnbc as well as every other network allow Politicians to come on there shows and get away with not answering the questions put to them? It's becoming unbearable over and over watching while a question is asked we have to listen as they go into a speech, raise their voice at times almost yelling. Trying to drive the party line across but never answering the question at hand, and being allowed to get away with it by most host of some of my favorite msnbc shows as we as others.
