These are the stories the staff of The Ed Show are keeping an eye on ...
- The vote to end oil subsidies didn’t pass in the Senate yesterday—maybe it has something to do with all the money they're getting from big oil.
- Newt Gingrich apologizes to Paul Ryan for bashing his budget plan, then says he would have voted for it.
- Scott Walker stealthily tries to take control over his state.
- Ben Stein defends alleged rapist.
- Touché: Obama throws birtherism back in birthers' faces with ironic campaign loot.

It's funny that the Democrats and the Liberals ignore that this years Obama budget has a deficit of 1 TRILLION (with a T) 765 BILLION. They are taking all of their energies (no pun intended), and all their talking points on the Oil Subsidies which equal 2 BILLION a year and will not affect gas prices more then a few pennies at best!!!
... shouldn't take the Liberals here to start saying Obama created a SURPLUS... just like they keep repeating about Bill Clinton after proving he left GW Bush with a $5 Trillion national debt. A federal debt that increased each year of the 8 he served as President according to the U.S. Treasury (government website), while stealing from the Social Security Trust Fund to keep his deficits down, via government bookeeping tricks. LMAO!
Before Downfall, Convicted Fraud Kingpin Raj Rajaratnam a Frequent Donor to Prominent Democrats
By Dave Levinthal on May 18, 2011 3:37 PM
Hedge fund titan Raj Rajaratnam lorded over his industry as one of its most wealthy and well-connected members, frequently holding court with the nation’s political elite as the head of Galleon Group.
Now, the 53-year-old billionaire may be headed to prison for as many as 25 years (his legal team has vowed to appeal) after a jury found Rajaratnam guilty on 14 counts of securities fraud or conspiracy to conduct illegal insider trading.
Since the mid-1990s, Rajaratnam, together with his wife Asha, contributed $119,000 to federal-level politicians and political committees, primarily Democratic, according to an analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics.
Rajaratnam made the vast majority of his political donations recently, during either the 2006 or 2008 election cycles. Among the beneficiaries of his federally reportable partisan contributions are:
Rajaratnam did not make federal-level campaign contributions during the 2010 election cycle, as by late 2009, federal officials had arrested him in connection with a massive insider trading scheme.
Scott Walker chilles me to the bone.....But I guess he does not stand alone in his state...I suppose with my liberal attitude, and being a hardworking retired teacher......I feel he is trying to take the middle class and the poor back into the dark ages of slavery,(not indentured servents....because they could eventurlly be freed if their slave owner allowed)
Do these Republican's really want to drive us into the ground and then just use us....this give me nightmares......We bailed out the banks to help pull us out of depression and the banks now refuse to share that responsibility. It is a puzzel to me. Are the republicans aware they are also part of the middleclass and poor. They want to vote themselves into this disaster?
It has everyting to to with the money they get from big oil. Mary Landrieu Over 900,000 dollars Obama 900,000 as well. they all are getting big oil money but most dems are receiving less except Obama.
Will the real Newt Gingrich please stand up.
Scott Walker is just a dirty politician. Where are the recall votes?
Ben Stein may have had a lot of bad experiences in hotels but I bet he never had a maid try to steal his sex. I guess thats why he dont believe it.
Thats a great campaign raising idea. Do you think it will raise more than the money he took from big oil?
It will be interesting to see how Ed defends Obama on the fact that he is in the top ten of those recieving big oil money when he was Senator and he isnt even from an oil state.
According to a source I can not name.....Works for STRAC in DC......says the oil companies are shipping oil out of the country that is produced here.....Where would they be sending it.......China? or am I off the track?

West, where have you been, who paid you to come and cherp........many of us think you leaving a lot out of your statements........Many of us do not see it that way......your critique is vague on facts.

Loss fer words Karen?
now I understand why there is a tea party... the republicans have no focus! no job plan,no budget,no real president contender (Boehner believes that ).this country is in a hole because of the republicans (BUSH)! so when Obama said's we need CHANGE the republican would like to take us back to the Bush times (both Bush's).if 2012 goes bad for the republican I see a much bigger tea party, independents and democrat party. TIME FOR CHANGE!!! :)
another republican Senate on the way out! senate coburn out of the gang of 6!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT AN OBAMA T-SHIRT !!!!!!!!!!!!
as you must be seeing how you are now repeating yourself...loss for anything better to do?
JESSE IN THE MORNING
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT AN OBAMA T-SHIRT !!!!!!!!!!!!
And you deserve one. If you can afford one after filling up your car with gas, since gas has DOUBLED from $1.84 to over $4.00 since Obama has been in office!!!
.... what these zombies don't understand is that without the subsidies we will see gas prices reach $7.00 per gallon as we see in Europe, which plays into the hands of Obama who said, "the price of energy will necessarily 'sky rocket' in order to support my Cap and Trade system." How soon they forget or never listen to what he says... How about all the Obamacare waivers being approved in Nancy Pelosi's and Harry Reid's districts in their respective states?? What a fiasco! Cronyism at its best! Screwing the 'little guy' and 'losing the future'. Ok, far lefties... what are there 1,100 waivers approved??

Pelosi's District Gets 20 Percent Of ObamaCare Waivers
WRITTEN BY R. CORT KIRKWOOD
WEDNESDAY, 18 MAY 2011 16:55
During April, the Obama Administration approved 208 waivers for its socialist health-care mandates. Funny thing is, The Daily Caller reports, the administration gave 38 of them, or 20 percent, to businesses or other entities in the district of leftist Democrat Nancy Pelosi (left). As Speaker of the House, Pelosi was the loudest cheerleader of all for health-care mandates that her own constituents now flee — apparently with her approval. Indeed, the list of waivers of Obama-backing businesses and unions is long, and 38 in Pelosi's neck of the woods are just the latest to benefit from what presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty, governor of Michigan, says is the utlimate of case of reciprocal back-scratching.
Irony is, businesses who received the waivers used the very reason to apply for one that opponents of Obama's socialist mandates offered for opposing them in the first place.
High-Toned Eateries
The DC's report dug up some interesting recipients of the waivers. They are, The DC reports, "fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels." Indeed, the high-toned eatries serve food so expensive that the purported beneficiaries of ObamaCare, the hoi polloi, could never afford to eat at them.
One of them The DC repored, is a restaurant called Boboquivari's. It's menu offers a cornucopia of food that goes a little beyond the menu at Five Guys.
The steaks run anywhere from $39 for a filet mignon to $59 for a porterhouse. Crab and lobster appetizers are $14. Salads cost $9. Diners can start their meals with a basil martini that costs $12. It is "perfectly balanced and shaken till icy."
NOTHING!
