These are the stories the staff of The Ed Show are keeping an eye on …
- WI-14 returns home and the fights against the Walker bill remain strong through the weekend.
- Recall numbers could be historic as 16 of 33 WI state Senators are under the proverbial microscope.
- As a candidate, Obama said he supported unions. Now, he’s turning his back on them.
- Surprise, surprise: McConnell blames Obama for rising gas prices.

thxs ED, for keeping your eye focus on Wisconsin!
please keep us updated on Michigan,Ohio and Indiana

I know this will vary state by state, but does anyone have any insight on the prospects of these various imperial governors engineering some anti-recall mechanisms? What actions might they take to thwart recall initiatives?
Since a critical milestone will be merely collecting enough signatures to legally establish a recall effort, those opposed would likely not show their hand unless they needed to. But, if any recall efforts do end up actually materializing, what might come down the pike to stop them? Certainly it would be naive to think this would go unopposed. Is anyone thinking about this?
I think the only way they could really hinder them is if they find fault with the actual petitions, an ineligible signer or something like that, and make a big stink about it. At this point, I'm not sure what actions the GOP could take that would surprise me anymore.
We don't have the option to recall politicians in Maine, but we do have the People's Veto which we can use to either accept or reject legislation passed by the House and Senate.

If the required number of signatures can be obtained, (yet to be seen), the next obstacle would be a vote. The citizens will be the next obstacle. Do you really believe the voting population of Wisconsin will remove the Governor for doing what is in their best interest simply because his action offended the public sector Union members? Good luck with that.
OK. So now we know "What's in Ed's Head". It isn't very much!
"WI-14 returns home and the fights against the Walker bill remain strong through the weekend."
Whoopty-doopty! The antidemocratic cowards return with their tails between their legs after being completely outsmarted and outmanuvered. Now THAT's a NEWS STORY!!!
The fights against the Walker bill remain strong because the Chicago goons and thugs still have money to finance paid demonstrations. But wait till that runs out and the UW kids leave to get smashed in Florida. Then? Not so strong.

"Recall numbers could be historic as 16 of 33 WI state Senators are under the proverbial microscope."
Yeh. Including the WI (Whimpy Imbecile)-14. Dereliction of duty is something that voters will recall during their recall. Buh-bye!!

"As a candidate, Obama said he supported unions. Now, he’s turning his back on them."
He also said the earth would begin to heal. Later he said unemployment would be kept below 8%. He said you could keep your doctor and insurance company. I hope Ed isn't picking on Barry just because he is a pathological liar. Pathological lying is a disease - treatment is probably covered under ObamaCare!

"Surprise, surprise: McConnell blames Obama for rising gas prices"
Well, Eddie and the gang blamed George W. when they increased during his presidency. What now? You mean it really ISN'T the President's fault??
Do you really think "Chicago Goons" paid 100,000 people to show up on Saturday to protest. Listen pardner, I live in Colrado and people , and I mean a hell of a lot of people out here are outraged over this and are sending money to the Wisconsin Dem party and pizzas to the protestors. Ain't no Chicago goons out here bud. This whole operation shows what the Reps are all about. Screw the working class and give it all to the Billionaires, Koch, it's the Republican's real thing.
carlton you cannot even spell let alone make any sense. Of course you only know what the people like yourself in CO think. Many others in CO disagree with you.
Ed. I agree wholeheartedly with you regarding the labor movement, the bottom line about union bargaining. I'm a public librarian and I belong to a union (teamsters 14)... but please stop putting Obama's head on the chopping block about marching with the protestors. Seriously, it's not helpful.
1. It can't be about Obama. It wouldn't be good for him or us and it's a state and the populous issue. Obama knows this. He has stated his support.
2. Obama has a lot of national and global crises he's dealing with and your hollering at and about him is not helping that either.
3. You are just giving the RRRWW fodder for falling all over themselves in their race to discredit Obama. Why are you even handing out gatorade to the runners?
PS If you need a good librarian, I may need to moonlight!
how forgiving the Librarian is. Did she forget what the President said about marching with the unions when he was getting their money to fund his election? How shallow does a person have to be to make an excuse for everything!
Even though I'm now a grandpa myself, I still remember my grandpa telling me " you only get two things from sitting on a fence, splinters in your arse and you make a good target for both sides."
On a lighter note, has anyone else noticed that Scott Walker and Scott Fitzgerald are both named for toilet tissue. Probably intentional since they are both arse-wipes.
Go Wisconsin and Buy American Union Made.
As much as Obama has been whacking the (pardone the expression) "little white fella" around the course lately, with all the turmoil going on in the world, he should update his oft repeated phrase: "the Republicans want to maintain the status quo" and add to it "while I'm trying to keep par on the course!".
You racist!
That's one of the four R's of Republicanism. Rich, Rightoues, Racist, Redneck. Check all that apply.
Here's what I think is in ED's head: FAT! Ed lives in a world of political X's and O's and more than once has had liposuction performed on that head. What more could you expect from a Phys-Ed teacher that is taking special-Ed courses? When people said to Ed "haul ass", he always had to make more than one trip. When the Edster is talking, I can't tell which side is facing the camera. Either way if it looks like it and smells like it, I'm not stepping in it and if the Edsters want to perhaps they have poor sense(s).
there is very little in Ed's head. Too much banging when he played football. He is a good case study for the NFL.
Ed your one of the people that helped us get into this mess. You know, the one that told people not to vote while complaining non-stop about the democrats. Please do me a favor and stop trying to pretend to be a democrat, your not nor are you much of a progressive from one who ran for Senate as a REPUBLICAN.
So Ed stop pretending to be something your not. Stop pretending to like Obama when you can't stand him. Your as false as they come Ed.
What does the tail waggin the dog teachers union have in common with the Wisconsin 14?
Neither one can understand the mathematical question that 19 > 14.
Thanks for your WI coverage . . . . I was at the big rally last Saturday &
Glenn Beck has a HUGE case of "PROTEST" envy !!!
MSNBC does not offer coverage on the weekends. They need to relax and spend all the money they make all week long getting people like you to tune them in. Imagine a news media that closes on weekends. Indicates how dedicated their network is.
Ed - Thanks again for telling the TRUE story of what is happening in Wisconsin.
I was at the protest last weekend, which was HUGE, but peaceful. Much larger than anything the teabaggers can put/buy together.
Glenn Beck has a big case of "Protest" Envy - if you ask me.
We're just getting STARTED !!!!
You know Ed tells the truth because he agrees with you. Ever think of researching subjects!
Glenn Beck is an educated jerk. The problem is that some people listen to his idiotic crap.
He's an educated "entertainer" and a jerk. The term rabble-rouser seems to fit; methinks the man needs to be examined and possibly medicated.
Actually Glenn Beck placed second only to Sarah Palin for the Liar, liar face on fire awardgiven in 2009 by Political watch for the biggest lie of the year. Heer winning lie wasa the Death list on health care, sorry I can't remember his right now.
The Tea Party Should Not Run The Country How They want It To Be.
What happened to the voice of the people?
.Squashed under Republican idealism of lies and mis truths
We need to stand together. This is'nt about whats best for America, It's about what is best for the Tea Party
I asked about the voice of the people when the healthcare bill was voted into law. You people ignore and bury that.
I am disapointed by how the republican framing of the union comparision has been constantly repeated as follows:
Why should public union workers get better benefits and pay than you non-union workers? Shouldn't we keep them from doing better than us?"
Instead it should be framed:
Why aren't you making as much or making as good benefits as those public union workers? Shouldn't you be joining together in a union to get a good deal instead of letting the companies dictate all the terms?
Imagine how different the results might be if progressives would take back control of the narative and not allow conservatives to set tone of the dialog on issues of consequence to the working public.
Stephanie
Your right as far as there being two ways the topic can be viewed. I think the reason it is viewed the way it is, is because the majority of workers are not in Unions and they are not working for the government. There is a norm and the public sector employee’s fall out of that norm. Another reason is many people work for small businesses and have a much better understanding of the costs of running that business. They know their employers cannot provide the benefits that the government does. You also need to look at competition in the private sector vice the absence of competition in the government sector. That competition requires the business to be efficient; the government is anything but efficient. Bringing the small percentage of public sector employees in line with the rest of us is only reasonable.
Ed I am with you, People better wake up before its too late, Unless you are one of the Elete and wealthy. We need to make a stand now, what ever it takes and do it now. Wake up people. T
The left blamed EVERYTHING on Bush when and AFTER he was president. Therefore, I have NO PROBLEM blaming OBAMA on high gas prices, can't sell my home, can't find a job, health premium going up, Oh and did I mention that the SKY IS FALLING!!!
I think I will blame that on OBAMA also
T MARA Perhaps you should learn how to spell ELITE first~~Then we can talk!!!
