I do not value the education Ed when I see how you ,all of your union buddies, have mislead taxpayers everywhere you go to fill your over compensated pensions plans . What don't you get we are broke!!!!!! It is not your money to take even if people lose there jobs. Even if education is in play, look where that has taken us today even when we spend hundreds of billions on education. It shows it does no good but line the pensions for those that bully there way around the state and local government by so called collective bargaining. It should be regulated to let the tax payers decide who gets what. We see it does not work. and raising taxes on the top 2 % is not going to fix any of this but let your people find more ways to get to the tax payers money when we do collect more. . Quit all your damn jobs if you do not like it. YOU LOST THE ELECTION! Now we have one in that will not play your games and now you are mad,and having Mike moore, Jessie Jackson come in to promote hait speech and use the collective bargaining as a tool to say it is okay to riot, shut down gov, impede official business, all for middle class rights Screw you You are all nothing but thugs. Follow the proper procedures and start looking for a replacement the next time around if Gov Walker does not create the 250,000 jobs he promised and gets his budget in line Real americans see thru this BS. Keep following MSNBC thats who is your voice is and by the way that network always is down in the ratings I wonder why!!! Stop breaking rules and then blame the Republicans because you lost. The Rep. did not walk out on the healthcare bill did they! they were shut out by the Dems changing the locks so they could not get in. So why don't you teach the kids the proper way to voice your opinion thru the voting process. No body has more rights then anyone else I do not care wether they are poor, middle class, rich, teachers, policeman fireman there is no difference period. If you people feel you are being hosed start your own business up and pay people how you want. then will see how long you people stay in business. You are only dividing groups of people even more. How is that HOPE and Change working out for ya!!!!!!!!!! Obama what are you going to now find a way to ban republicans from voting , break more constitution rules to get your way I am sure you will come up with something and Ed BS Shultsz will highlight that as your greatest achievement. All of you people make me sick!!!!
LOL at you.
in the words of the late Sgt. Hulka
Lighten up Francis!!!
You know what ICU? I'm just gonna let what you said sink in... That sucks am I right? We've all written something that we wish we could delete, but it's out there. And boy is it gold...lol Your an idiot an the reason why we are in the mess we are in. The republicans saw you coming a mile away, pumping their fist at the ground staring at it saying 'thank you my god'... Let me just ask you how you came to the conclusion that Ed's opinion, decades before the civil rights movement and SS, was the reason the taxpayers are in the mess they are in. And I'd like to add that I'm pretty sure NBC is a privately held company which, you guessed it, makes it a private union. I could be wrong with that, but your wrong on so many levels...
It is not fair for elected officials that may have been put into office with union support to be same people who approve union contracts. I suggest that Wisconsin and other states have public employee union contracts approved by referendum. That would solve the conflict of interest that these elected officials face. It may require an amendment to the state constitution and if so then that amendment should be put forth and voted on.
It's not fair for republicans to take money from the Koch brothers, only to turn around and give the brothers a tax break? Really, that's weird. They only made 9 billion last year. And with all of the innovations in solar power, were still using coal and oil? You don't find that strange? Germany have perfected there solar panels to the point that up to 80% effective on cloudy days. If we were to put solar panels on all government buildings, airports-like Japan, foundries, big business warehouses and so on, the Koch brother are out of business. Were not even close with something like that. So a little word of advice don't buy any solar power stock or any kinda alternative energy stock. Not with big oil still around as an evil elf of the Republican party... And for your information ICU, It's the republicans that are finding ways to keep the Democrats from voting...The Republicans are writing laws everyday to make it more difficult to vote, especially if you might lean to the left. Unless, like in the case of Texas, a bunch of new rules apply except for the elderly and people that own guns. It's so black and white, your wrong about your party. You really shouldn't believe everything you hear on Fox News, in fact you shouldn't believe any of it unless Allen Combs is talking...lol Trust me look into it, if you can watch Maddow from yesterday, she actually hit on that very subject.
Mike just because you sold your soul to the left everything you said just proves my point you are greedy, selfish totally unamerican,. You can say what you want but your facts are totally wrong. I do not remember the Koch brothers going into and out of the white house like trumca does. they never came into the white house and helped write up laws to favor themselves get over yourself. nothing that you could ever say, write or create will never change the fact that you lost and are a sorry LOSER. You and your side lie so much that you acually believe it. It's people like you that make others fight harder to stop you. WE WILL like Charlie Sheen would put it WINNING
lllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllll
Hey everybody, get a load of this guy^^^
How fitting that you would compare the Republican party to Charlie Sheen. Stop telling yourself 'we will winning'. Doesn't even make sense. lol
You do not value education because you hated school. That is simply immaturity. You are wrong about teachers, so you obviously do not know any. But they are hard working and very caring. That is why they are drawn to the profession. I am so sorry you are so filled with hatred. It must be hard to live with such pain that you have to strike out at others.
To be fair and impartial, you must take a good, long, hard look at both sides. Regardless of what you say, I am proud to be a teacher; I provide a valuable to children and I know that when I am done with them and they move on, their lives are better for it.
I urge you to consider what I have said: look at both sides, do a little research, ask a few questions, keep your mind open while you are doing it and then make a decision.
Off topic, and maybe even a little far fetched. None the less I feel the need to express myself. Whats going on in this country? I can't help but feel the powers that be, weather they're political or financial, are corrupt. Not only that but seeing anybody else as either after their money or costing them money. What I'm saying is I get the feeling that if something devastating were to happen in this country and there was a great loss of life that that would make alot of people happy, alot of very very powerful people. Think of how much the government could turn around and give big oil and business if they didn't have to take care of a great number of 'surfs'. Or how much big business would make if something devastating were to happen.
Messing around on youtube I came across a video talking about HAARP-High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. Sounds harmless enough; sounds like their just monitoring the aurora borialis. It's the facts of this project that are, well, utterly stagering... 72,000 more powerful than our most powerful radio station. Has the capability to focus all of it's radio waves into a single beam, exceeding 3.2 million watts power. It's widely speculated that HAARP can cause earthquakes anyplace on Earth. The reason for this speculation is HAARP modifies the ionosphere, which consequently modifies the magnetosphere. It's believed that the magnetosphere plays a vital role in the stability of the tectonic plates that float on the surface of the earth. The project is located in Gokona, AK and is jointly headed by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and the Department of Defence to study the ionosphere..., by the Navy, Air Force and Department of Defence??? Some believe that it is in fact a weapon. Some believe it can induce various mental states and manipulate weather among other basic weapon functions. Currently HAARP is comprised of 180 high frequency antennas over 70 feet tall covering 33 square miles of virgin forest. Part of the project involves beaming several billion watts of intense radio frequency energy into the ionosphere.
So in conclusion, my theory as to why we are so unwilling to stand up for ourselves might be HAARP. My theory as to global warming might be HAARP. And my theory as to the power and corruption in this Country might be HAARP. I'm just saying I wouldn't have written any of this had the serious issues facing this country be on the T.V. Their not.
Now please don't misunderstand me. What has just happened in Japan is an absolute tragedy and they deserve all the attention and help they can get. My heart goes out to them. I just don't like the idea of things being forgot about or settled down, we can't afford that. There is something really wrong with this contry right now and I don't want people to forget it.

A brand new video celebrating the Wisconsin workers in their struggle against their union-bashing governor and legislature is now available. The great new song ‘Down on the Line’ by the Joe Hill Heartlanders is accompanied by pictures from the rallies in Wisconsin and New York City. The efforts of the producer Mike Konopka are joined by contributions from Michael Ways and Dan Brigham, and a few photos from yours truly Staten Island Bob. Dan Brigham contributed the photos from Madison, Wisconsin. The fight has only begun. Here’s to the Wisconsin 14 and all municipal workers in Wisconsin and around the country who are under attack.

Thank you for posting! I will share and pass along!
I'm a psychotherapist and marriage counselor in practice some 40 years. It is part of my normal practice to diagnose and treat a whole gamut of mental illness. The words psychopath and narcissist, severe mental illnesses, have been thrown around for some time now in reference to public figures, not necessarily in error. They are people who have no empathy for others, who seek power over others, who lie, cheat, steal, but want people to believe they are good people. Narcissists, in particular, are often immediately likable, charming, charismatic and they engeander trust and belief in them.
Apply these characteristic to public figures, especially those who say one thing and do the opposite and you'll find that we, as a society are indeed inundated with many DANGEROUS people who are at the top and who are in control of all the rest of us. Their main goal is for power and of course, with power comes money, our money, and now our freedoms. The 400 richest people having more money tha the rest of us combined illustrates the use of corporations as their weapons in the war against all of the rest of us. A corporation has three required goals: to cut costs, maximize profits, and to grow. It is the ultimate eating machine and will gobble up everything in its path and then move to another path. It will never stop and doesn't care about clean air, clean water, clean soil, healthy unpolluted food or anything else, only profit.
Gary - thank you! I hope you don't mind, but I would like to share your comments on another thread where I post. It is unfortunate that the powers-that-be have the hardworking citizens of our country pitted against one another. While we are fighting against our fellow man, the rich and power hungry continue to gain control and status. There is so much corruption that it is difficult to define a locus point of control... other than the fact that it is BIG BUSINESS that is running our country... not the people.
Gary
You have won me over. I think I will get rid of my cars, manufactured by the Corporations. I will no longer have to buy fuel refined and sold by the Corporations. No more support to the evil Insurance Companies either. No more cable TV and internet, the corrupt communication monopolies have seen the last of me and my money. I will abandon my computer, cell phone and play station, screw their profit margin. I will stop shopping at Safeway and Albertsons. No more McDonalds or Jack in the Box, I will grow my own food. I will abandon my home; no longer will I support the Banks or Home Depot or Lowes. No more electricity and natural gas from the evil power companies. No more furniture from those greedy Companies. I will quit work. I refuse to be a slave to the company any longer. I will grow my own cotton and make my own clothes and stop buying from Sears, Wal-Mart and the rest of them. I will find a vacant field somewhere with a clean water supply and live in a tent. No, under a tree or in a cave, evil corporations make tents. I will cook my food on a stick, no pots or pans for me. I will make my shoes from animal skins, no more store bought boots for me. I will use my knife to cut and sew them. No knifes are made by evil corporations. I will use my teeth, yeah that will work. I will get started in the morning. I only need one thing, could you tell me how to apply for government assistance? Will they send me my welfare check to a cave? Thanks a lot Gary, I see things so much clearer now. When I get there I will draw a map telling you where I am. I will write it on the bark of a tree using charcoal from my fire. I will tie it to a bird’s leg using a small vine and tell the bird to find you. When you get the message, please feel free to join me. Life will be so much better.
Republicans are right OK, I admit it. We are spending to much money on public workers. Maybe we could look at a democracy like India and it's 'bonded labor' for pointers in saving money on salaries and benefits...
Nah, nevermind...lol Obviously a joke. The republicans are driving the middle class into the ground.
Mike
The philosophy was adopted 50 years ago when public sector unions were established. The Taxpayers are in deed indentured servants to the public sector unions. Union workers live off the sweat of the taxpayers. I am not joking.
Wait the smoke from ears has cleared the wisconsin has ended the union and collective bargaining rights for teachers yet it isnt gonna touch it for police and firefighters so it works for them and not for teachers so a double standard exist and most likely discrimination.Or you cover our asses during the protest and when there over and your not popular we can go after you.hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm smell what the kochs are cooking anyone?
who is ed shult ?
Wake up and Smell the Coffee! Thank you Wisconsin citizens, teachers and unions, "let's roll", let's wake up America to the TRUTH!
America flourished and we became the greatest, wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world since the days unions became part of our society and provided financial stability to our middle class. This war against the middle class was started as a war against "big government", where people were made to believe that government was the problem in their lives. The war was started by think tanks founded and funded by former members of the John Birch Society and extremely right wing wealthy families and corporations (Koch brothers and friends), earlier depicted in the James Stewart movie, "It's a Wonderful Life", as Henry F. Potter (the Lionel Barrymore character) seen as the heartless slumlord. These wealthy interests want to eliminate all forms of government intervention and regulation over their financial interests.
These personalities have been seeking and now receive larger and greater shares of our national treasury, in the form of contracts and government outsourcing and privatization of government services to their subsidiaries.
They want to bring back their company town and their company store, that was earlier lost and taken away by democracy through government intervention, regulation, and unions. This was and continues to be their primary objective in their war against big government.
There is no dispute that bloated government is a problem that needs to be tamed. However, the purpose of government is to make sure that the playing field for all citizens is level and must protect our population against the greed of criminals and those same very wealthy elites who seek a return to the company owned town, and feudal systems, denied them by unions and government. Too many people seem to be confused about our Constitution and the purposes of our founding fathers' was to break the grip of the feudal system.
After the momentum from the Bush era, where these wealth and politically savvy elites ran the regulatory agencies that were to regulate them, their wealth has multiplied, as they have absconded with the wealth of our government treasuries and from our citizens, by the weakening of regulatory agencies and the corruption they have inflicted on these institutions: MMS (BP Oil Spil); banking (the banking crisis), SEC (Madoff, among others), CFTC (inflating the price of food, oil and other commodities, without real demand), Energy (almost bankrupting California with the Enron fiasco, and the denying us an energy policy to use natural gas and other plentiful domestic resources), FDA (giving big pharmaceutical companies right to sell lethal drugs such as Vioxx), FCC (eliminating fairness doctrine and giving private companies profit and control over our public airwaves and internet), USDA (allowing the sale of e-coli contaminated foods, and a Monsanto patented seed that thank you to Clarence Thomas and the S.CT. is used in 90% of our food grains, and may contain a virus that has shown to possibly make some animals sterile) just to name a few. These government agencies were being run by the hand picked cronies of these wealthy families, who are now in the most significant position of power in Congress and state legislatures, and have control over government treasuries and politicians, as they seek to bring back their company store.
It is almost surreal how quickly this has occurred and how quickly the citizens voted these people into office based upon our fear government intrusion into our lives. The difference between government and private wealth, is that you can vote out the government, but once private wealth owns you, you cannot get them off your back. I would prefer big government than the heartless slumlord, depicted by Henry F. Potter, controlling me because I can vote rally with my friends and vote to change the government. However, unless we act now and quickly, those Harry F. Potter fans are working to deny our right to organize and vote.
"America flourished and we became the greatest, wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world since the days unions became part of our society and provided financial stability to our middle class."
Actually no, that's not correct.
American flourished during this period of time (30's to the 60's) primarly because we were the ONLY industrialized nation to emerge from the 2nd world war unscathed. Unions in the US flourished during that time BECAUSE no other nation could challenge the US in that role, and the give-aways to the unions didn't come with a cost to the nation as a whole.
Sadly, that time is over and we need to have a new model to compete in the world as it exists today.
@Louis
You mean when everybody payed their fair share of taxes? I bet I don't hear 'fair tax' out of Huckabee once this time around. Were in two wars that the Republicans needed. Needed so bad they brain washed senators and was willing to believe one guys fable, without any fact checking. You republicans forget, you got us into this mess with ' it wont cost more than 90 billion', for Iraq, remember that figure? I do Mr. W. And now that the Iraq war alone has cost more lives than what started all this. More lives than were lost in 9/11, hundreds and hundreds of billions, with us not going anywhere in the forseeable future. The teachers are to blame for us not having any money? You can't believe that crap, can you? Please just tell me your repeating something you heard on Fox News without thinking about it, because it came from the Republicans, for which you have a dangerous devotion...
Good day sir...
You sir, seem to have a thing about Republicans, the Iraq war and FOX news. I fail to discover what that has to do with the history of unions in America.
Hope you feel better soon,
Good day sir,
I would like to ask what you do for a living and how much you think you are worth for doing it?
Analyze TheData
Perhaps you should start with the most important data; the Constitution. “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imports and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States.” The Federal government has expanded into areas never dreamed by our founders. The Federal government has exceeded the authority granted to Congress in the Constitution time and time again. Please note the last 6 words of the above excerpt, “general Welfare of the United States.” They refer to the Federal government’s responsibility to the individual States, not to the individual citizen. In accordance with the Constitution, the Federal government is not responsible for education, housing, healthcare, or any of the other social programs so lovingly embraced by Progressives. The founders clearly believed in a limited Federal government funding it exclusively with import taxes and tariffs. The Progressive notion of social programs required the expansion of the Federal government’s role and the introduction of Income Tax. When Income Tax was found to be insufficient to satisfy the cost of the social programs, Social Security was introduced. Each time the revenue of the Federal government was increased by the seizure of personal property, the social programs expanded and the dependency of the individual on the Federal government grew. It is time to restore States Rights and reduce the size, power, and influence of the Federal government. The abolishment of the Department of Education, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Labor, and the vast majority of departments and agencies of the Federal government has come. It is time to abolish Social Security and Medicare. It is time for the individual States to restore their Constitutional authority to govern; free of the intrusive influences of the Federal government. It is time for individual citizen to assume responsibility for themselves and rely on their own labor for sustenance. It is time for America to be great.
So next time dont come to the government with your states funding request ok.
Jayadams
From 1798 to 1913 the Federal government was funded exclusively by Import Taxes and Tariffs. The State is responsible for its citizens, not the Federal government. There would be no reason for the States to take Federal funding if the Federal government didn’t rely on the States for funding.

I NO YOU CAN'T BE AS DUMB AS YOU SOUND
I guess I'm confused! What's the difference between the Unions taking in money to support Dems, or big business and the Koch Bros. giving big bucks to the Republicans to put THEIR special politicians in office??? Isn't it the same thing?
And I understand that it's the Repulblicans changing all the state voting rules to limit who can vote, and who can't vote....mostly college students, and low income people who usually vote Democratic. Looks to me that the Republicans don't want any competion, because they have no platform to run on.
Exactly. All the Repubs are trying to do is eliminate the competition.
The main difference is TAX PAYERS money funging Dems. How do you not get that? This has to be one of the dumbest responses on this website. And Mike your comments are so blind its astonishing. you stated early Maddow was right on. She is one of the most one sided Media knuckleheads in the industry and you make remarks about fox? Get real
Explain to me how they are making it hard to vote? By making people show ID? God forbid people are held accountable right? No one is complaining about showing ID to buy beer or borrow a library book. Liberals are full of double standards its sick. You probably think all the illegals should vote too? Amnesty is the next step to that. What a joke.
Kathy, Sorry your party takes advantage of uneducated voters like College Students taught by liberal professors. And the lower income families who to me seem to be less educated voters. Yes, I just graduated and being "liberal" tends to be the cool thing while in school until you realize what it takes to earn a real living. Stop complaining about people making money in private industry. If you can't join em' get out and go to Europe.
THE CHOICE IS CLEAR IN 2012
DEMOCRATS :
Stand up for what they believe in
moving forward exclaiming
YES
REPUBLICANS :
Tear down what they don't believe in
moving backward shouting
NO
Tear down what they don't believe in? Look at the title of all MSNBC's articles thats all you Liberals do? When AZ was passing immigration laws it was called, "The racial profiling law" on every show and people like you probably think thats what it's called. Wake up and realize your party is the most slanderous group of them all. Well except when it comes to Muslims.
The next thing we need to get rid of is teacher tenior. That way the teachers who perform well will be afforded the opportunity to stay and teach. The slacker teachers with teniors will have to improve performance or run the risk of being fired.
The thing that really makes me mad is when a teacher with tenior has students that fail, and is not held accountable!
Ed Education In This Country Is Under Attack By Budget Cutters Because :
