He sounds like he is talking about progressives. Tax the rich, give it the poor. Reduce the wealth of the rich, increase the wealth of the poor through government social programs. Then everything will be equal, that is except for the Progressive Leaders or the new rich. Its not hard to imagine, take a look at the USSR, China, and every other country that has embraced socialism. Two classes of people the poor and the rich.

One thing I have learned in this world is: Rich people are for the most part the worst people in the world.
Many Rich people got what they have by cheating, stealing, or doing something illegal. Remarkably few actually get there by the sweat of their brow and their own inventions.
Many Rich peple believe in the concept of something for nothing. There is no such thing, unless you create legislation to make it so, like getting rid of collective barganing rights, so they can get the UPPITY workers back on the plantation.
Rich people are not hard to figure out. They just flat out think they are better than you or me, and that the rules don't apply. They live in their own virtual nation called "richistan" - where the rich get richer, and the poorer we make those workers the harder they will work. And we will work them till they drop, or we will leave them to starve in the wilderness.
Rich people are generally so great and wonderous. We all aspire to do better than our previous generation, however, I will be dammed if I will do it by stepping on the head of another person to JUMP LINE and weasel my way to the top of success. I will get there by my own merit or I won't get there at all.
I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes when I arrive at a level of success, and I will elevate those around me to help them gain their chance at sucess as well. Isn't that the way it should be?

The speech is called "America is NOT Broke." And the crowd of over 50,000 people who stood in rapt attention were of one voice. Walker has indeed "Awoken a sleeping Giant."
The people of Wisconsin were stunned to realize that :
"Today just 400 Americans have more wealth than half of all Americans combined. "
As Michael went on to explore the greatest heist in history, the audience JEERED at the republicans "shame shame shame."
Michael pleaded with the mass media to cover this. I did not see anything in the paper, or TV. This speech was historic. It needs to be seen and heard by the millions who could not be there.

You ask, "What's wrong with being wealthy?". Wrong question. The question should be "What's wrong with exempting the wealthy people from paying their fair share of taxes?" The U.S. used to have a progressive tax rate that recognized the simple fact that the more money you make, the more tax you can afford to pay. Taking $2,000 in tax from a person making $20,000 a year makes a bigger difference in that person's life than taking $35,000 in tax from a person making $200,000 a year.
This is the common sense logic that has been warped and discarded in the 20 years of Republican administrations (Reagan through Bush2) that created a privileged class of wealthy citizens in our so-called "democracy". What's next in Republican America ... a royal family?
I suppose the Obama Administration printing billions of dollars has nothing to do with the shrinking value of the dollar. Every dollar added reduces the value of those already in the system. To attribute the increase in fuel, food and other products to speculators and completely ignore the billions of dollars dumped into the system by Obama is crazy. The current unrest in the Middle East, the threat to foreign oil supplies, and the Administration’s resistance to drilling oil in the United States couldn’t have anything to do with the increased price of gas either. The enemies of the United States could not do as much damage to our economy as our own government if they tried. A reasonable person may conclude the devaluation of the US dollar was intentional. Congress starts the ball rolling by pressuring banks to make home loans to less than qualified applicants. The Administrations follows the artificially created housing crisis and subsequent stock market crash with bailouts to the Banks and Wall Street. The unemployment rate goes through the roof and the Administration spends hundreds of billions on a recovery. Now that the nation is Trillions of dollars in debt, the Administration decided to print hundreds of billions of dollars. We end up with unemployment at 9% for over two years, out of control spending by the Federal government, dramatically increasing prices for food, fuel, and everything else, and a significantly devaluated dollar. So what’s the next step, pit the citizenry against each other to create civil unrest? Maybe “the rich vs. the poor” or “corporations vs. labor”. What if the class warfare results in riots and violence in the streets? What then, the National Guard or maybe Marshal Law? Is it possible we could see the suspension of free speech, right to assemble, and other rights? Could the government seize our weapons and seize control of our communication systems, TV, Radio, and the internet? Maybe the suspension of free elections would follow. No this is crazy, its probably just greedy speculators.

These networks are trying to insite rage to start a riot and then blame Fox and the right and the rich to use as cover when s__t hits the fan! And the dems and left will be like Mubarak and funnel the tax payers money to there unions and other groups to control and we will still have poor people in the streets just like europe is now. Don’t be deceived, just because the Socialists have aligned themselves with the teacher’s Union in Wisconsin. History has show they have no love for educators. Teachers not only have knowledge of history, they have the ability to teach others. The ideals and dreams of our founding fathers must be wiped from history and our minds in order for the Socialist to be successful. Teachers are a threat to the Socialist movement. Socialist also has no love for Unions, after all who was responsible for the fall of the USSR. It was primarily the result of the Solidarity Movement lead by Labor Unions. Teachers and Unions will not be a part of the new utopian society. In all probability Teachers and Union Leaders will be the first to fall under a Socialist dictatorship. The Class Warfare created by the progressives through their social programs and the enslavement of the 50% of the population is an indication of their desires for an end result. They want us all enslaved and dependent on the government. We the citizenry are fall to stupid to be free. We must have leaders to protect us. After all what is Social Security all about? It is based on the assumption that the citizen is incapable of taking care of himself, that he lacks the ability to plan ahead in his own best interest, and that only the government knows what is best for the citizen. Social Security also provided the funding needed by the government to enslave the population. It was really a great idea, if you’re a Socialist, in that it did two things. First it confiscated personal property from the individual in the form of compulsory contributions and secondly funded a wide range of social programs. This artificially created divisions within the populations, those they benefited from the social programs and those that paid for it. The result has been 50% of the population receiving benefits and 50% shouldering the burden. Where will it end if the Socialist’s are successful? Our standard of living will be significantly reduced across the board. While there may be a slight increase in the standard of living of the lower 50% of the population, as a whole we will all suffer. Absent of liberty, our ability to achieve wealth or status will be lost. This will be reserved exclusively for the Ruling Class as it has been in every Socialist government. I stand with the Union’s right to protest even as I disagree with their objectives. It is the Socialist that will promote violence within the demonstrations, not the Union members. I pray the Union membership comes to the conclusion they are being used by the Socialist and their dissolve their relationship before it is too late.

There is a big deference between a Liberal and a Progressive. While I don’t agree with their methods, I do believe Liberals have a sincere desire to help people and make the world a better place. On the other hand Progressives are Socialists and their desire to end to our way of life is unacceptable. I agree there is little deference between the two political parties these days, especially after 8 years of Republican spend, spend, and spend policies. I don’t believe Democrats or Liberal want to see riots in the streets. I do however believe Progressives are waiting with baited breath for violence to erupt. Have you not seen posts relating to the French Revolution on this very site? As for the media, they (including MSNBC) have their own agendas. MSNBC leans so far left it is difficult to believe anyone including a Liberal actually believes they are truthful or anywhere near unbiased.

Ed, I just have this to say, does anyone reaaly know or talk about why Russia went down and the Wall was taken down?? Believe for real it had very little if anything to do any president that we have had even Reagan !! O maybe some of them helped a little here and there, but it was truly only because Russia had became again a country where you had ONLY RICH people and poor people and the damn country went totally broke and was about to come apart and the big guys running the country goverment knew it and allow the change.. Does anyone see a comparison to them back then and us now where we are headed right now? The average person in this country (most of them) does not even realize what is going to happen in this country and that will be alive at that time, just what they are going to get to see and live, and its NOT going to be pretty.....

There is a significant deference between the United States of today and the USSR at the time of the fall. The USSR had a very centralized government. In the US at least for the time being the individual States share the power with the Federal government. I realize the Federal government has been increasing its power of the States and the individual citizen, but they do not have total control. Food supplies were limited in the USSR, people were starving. While it is true our corn crops have been diverted from our grocery stores to our gas tanks in pursuit of a political objective, or stores are still well stocked. There was literally no middle class in the USSR. Even those considered to be at the poverty level in the US have food, shelter, and in move cases transportation. You must understand “poverty” has nothing to do with the basic needs for human survival. Poverty is associated with the wealth of our nation. The way is has been defined mandates that it always be present. It can never be eradicated because there will always be people that fall below the poverty line. That is to say there will always be the top, middle, and bottom. By definition the bottom is in poverty. In the USSR there was truly poverty, not so here in the US. This is not to say I don’t agree with your conclusion. I believe there is a great threat to our way of life. I believe there are forces at work at both ends of the spectrum seeking that objective. If successful, there will be two classes; the poor and the elite ruling class. It is time to not only stop the expansion of the Federal government, but to reduce its size and power over the states. It is also time to reduce social programs that result in the citizen’s dependency of the Federal government.
Hey everyone the world is been based off a two class system since the beginning of man. And since most Americans do not even pay in 10 percent in taxes, for the services they recieve, then think it is about time to quit bitching. Go overseas and live if you do not like it. Then see what you pay in and over there you will not get a refund at the end of the year.
On oil tax the oil companies tax them, then go to the gas station and see what you pay then for gas. How about cars that get double the gas milage as they have in europe. But have to send them over here getting half that fuel milage.
As for Unions not agaisnt them except when they force companies to keep people on the payroll that should be fired. Examples Chrysler that had to keep those employess on the payroll after being caught drinking and smoking pot while at lunch. Yep the kind of people I want next to me on the line. Or the ones spending hundreds of hours at the FCC watching porn. Still have there jobs and did not pay any of those hours back. And last but not least the 4,000 teachers that sit in a breakroom all day in New York, because they are not allowed back in the classroom. Costing the taxpayers over 280 million over a year. But the Union wants them te let go new teachers to cover the the shortfall. Yes all about the millions pay them every year.
Since I have served this country I will say this, for those who have not. If you do not like it then please pack your sorry selfs up and move elsewhere. But then thats if you find a country that wants you.
It's about time we call these subsidies what they should be Entitlements.
Oil is not going to cost us more just because there are less entitlements for the oil companies, the market sets the price. The so called American oil companies are going to have to sell it at the price set by the speculators/market. Now they--speculators--may send out some paranoia news, maybe similar to what Iread on this blog, but that's just business as usual.
The only true way out of this problem is alternatives, that will send the oil speculators running.
