Our Milwaukee affiliate, WMTJ, spoke with President Obama exclusively today. We played some of his remarks about the historic Wisconsin protests on The Ed Show tonight, but we thought you should be able to see the entirety of his remarks. So here they are:
Keep in mind, the idea that this "budget crisis" is a fiscal reality just doesn't pan out. As we laid out on tonight's edition of The Ed Show, the Wisconsin state Fiscal Bureau just last month reported that the state is not in bad shape. And as you'll see if you read it for yourself, it explains that more than $100 million in revenue has been lost due to Gov. Walker's tax breaks for the rich. Our buddy John Nichols wrote this editorial explaining it all and Ed talked about it on his radio show earlier today, too.

The issue is the Removal of Bargaining Rights. I notice this hasn't been emphasized in many articles.
Bill just passed WI finance committee on Party lines 12-4. Rep Rothman said we should get over it in 10 seconds.......
If anyone wants to take part in peaceful demonstration (many parents are taking their children including me so going all Arizona is so NOT wanted), please join us, tomorrow at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Why are the republicans trying to make public employees worthless people. I bet you that govenour's whole family (mama, papa, sister, brothers and cousins) and friends worked and benefitted and are now collecting there nice pensions. Did his children go to private schools? Did he attend the public schools?
What is John Boehner going to tell his home state now since they are not going to build engines or whatever and they are now going to be out of jobs? Are they going to love him for that as well. Is he going to shed a tear or is he going to stand in front of them and say SO BE IT. Oh poor little John who worked in his fathers store what do you say now.
Paul Ryan, what the heck is he saying that the people of Wisconsin are the same as Cairo? Where is the DEMOCRACY Mr. Ryan.
What about the congress/senate people sleeping in their offices and keeping their expenses for themselves and are not claiming it as income for their family on their taxes. If the we did something like that we would be brought up on charges for tax invasion. Talking about double standards.
The Unions across this nation should be protesting and on their way to Wisconsin in support of all workers.
Of course Obama is going to chide in about the unions. These public unions have excelled at stealing American's taxes, a course of action that the president supports. Public employees are covered under the labor laws to the nth degree and we all know that. This is nothing more than a play to continue allowing the taxpayer support of unions and the use of the union member's hard earned dues money to fund the democrats socialistic/communistic agenda. By the way, why is there a union for federal military technicians? If you have ever gone to war with any of these employees, you will see what I mean. They whine, cry and talk of filing complaints while in the combat zone for goodness sake. Not all of them, of course. Just enough to make you sick.
